Heffes, California: 2012-2014

Next stop: Los Angeles, California: 2014-20??

Two years?! In one place?! I know right, I’m surprised I did it myself as well! I came to Heffes on a whim, I’d heard of the glitz and glamour of the States. My quest to find a home in the US of A started in New York before I realised that I just wasn’t suited for upstate life especially since spending three years in France. But when I arrived in sunny California where the beach parties never end, where the sun is always shining and where the drinks never stop flowing. I knew I’d found a place to call home for the next year. However, I’ve decided to stay.

At first the dream was to make daddy’s business a success, California has a habit of doing that to business, it makes them bloom or it kills them. And it’s taken right off, but not without the help of a few friends along the way.

Friends.

I’m glad to say that I’ve met some people here that I’m so lucky to know, friends that I’ll be in touch with for the rest of my life. I arrived at Westwood, fresh faced, ridiculously European and horribly prepared for the best bad world of High School, but was it bad? Of course not. It had its ups and down. I graduated, and I have my place at UCLA with my darling Eve, who I hope to share the next chapter of my life with. And whilst I have made friends, I have lost one close to me as well, my darling angel Mia. This place has good memories, and bad memories and when the choice to move across country to study I chose not to. Weird huh? Your resident wanderlust blogger has decided to find a permanent residence in one place?! It’s strange for me too. However, it’s safe to say that California is my home, and it will be my home for a long, long time. I’m currently sat on a box waiting to leave home to go to my dorm and it’s not like I’m moving away, just moving along, moving up! The dream is still there, still real and I’m still going to be blogging about the latest fashion disgrace that I’ve recently laid my eyes on, (chocker necklaces are back?! What is with this 90s grunge revival, bury it… bury it deep. Charli XCX is not a style icon. I REPEAT CHARLI XCX IS NOT A STYLE ICON.) or the latest fashion trend (I’m still loving statement scarves and collars) I’ll never stop blogging and telling the hundreds of thousands of people what I’m up to, and what you should be putting yourselves in.

When I get my body back you'll have to do a piece on my 'keep it cute' section on my blog for maintaining good hair because I see some birds nest, nappy looking shit all the time.
