Brain Matthew Hadsell Review
Hailing from San Francisco, California, Brain Matthew Hadsell is an indie rock singer/songwriter with some pretty great tunes. His voice is mellow and melancholic but the lyrics are inspiring and the guitar riffs are just plain energizing.
In an interview in 2012 he credited Barely Blind, Motley Crue, and Anberlin as influences which are clear in tracks such as “Feel The Same” (available on iTunes) and “Falling In Love”. “Always” even has a bit of a psychedelic vibe.
All three of those tracks are on an EP titled The Sounds of You, released in March of 2014 on bandcamp. Click here.
And the cool thing about it is you can pay whatever you want! He also has an array of singles available there (my personal favorite is “Don’t Go Away”) and you can find more links to other free music streaming sites on his facebook or tumblr @brianhadsell.
Need more of a reason to show your support? 10% of his sales get donated to ADHD and Heart Disease foundations.
I think that’s a win-win for everyone.

I've been avoiding posting something about Robin Williams because I think the media is already blowing up about it and I find it almost offensive towards him. It's like, when was the last time he crossed your mind? Why are you all of a sudden such a big fan? His death should not be something you tweet about to get a ton of likes.
Robin Williams was a big part of my childhood. And ironically, his movies were some of the things that helped me out of depression. It's really sad to see him go because I always saw him as this really happy, cheerful guy and he brought lots of light into my life, even if I didn't know him in person.
I think the most shocking part about his death is the reminder that celebrities are people too.
I didn't want to post anything about him because I don't think someone's death is something to share on social media. What is your meaningless tweet going to do? It's not bringing him back; it's not helping his family. It's going out into cyberspace to be showered with attention only to be forgotten two days later.
So... he died and you want to take the chance to put the attention on you? He had the same worth to you as the bunch of computer code that makes up a tweet and will be replaced within three hours?
This is mostly aimed at all the celebrities that get their tweets read out loud on the news, but some common people are just as bad.
When I saw this gif, it struck a nerve somewhere deep down. I think the artist did a very good job of capturing the sadness in his eyes, but paired it with his smile and a cute Flubber to give the piece that Robin Williams charm. It just resonates nostalgia and I think that's what Robin's death has evoked in me.
Nostalgia.
The Truth About Palm Trees
The thing about palm trees is that they're so commonly associated with tropical beaches and sunny vacations, that they start putting them up everywhere (like in between busy streets!) in order to subliminally brainwash you into thinking, "Hey, this California weather's in the 90's today and my car radio's playing a burned out pop song that talks about parties, but hey, palm tree plus sun plus party must mean vacation. I'm stuck in traffic, but I'm not at work and I'm not at home, so it's sort of like a vacation. And vacations are happy, right? So I must be a happy person! Look out world, I'm going shopping today to spend the money I don't have because I'm happy!"
Hunger Games victors, Peeta Mellark and Johanna Mason, stand with President Snow and his efforts to preserve a peaceful and prosperous Panem
These short poems are quite beautiful.
