Attention-starved

Okay, so there I was. Innocently processing defects at the guest service desk about 20 mins into an opening shift. This older lady comes up to the desk and SCREAMS “Guess I just have ONE giant flabby breast!” No introduction, no warning. And my mind stalls.. and I’m like “sorry-what?” Sounding LIVID, she says I need to speak to security about their comments. I look over to the only TPS on shift, who’s been behind the desk with me since we opened, just bagging last nights crc’s, and he looks JUST as confused as me. Then she just walks out, no explanation, no waiting for me to help her. So the TPS goes into his office and checks the camera to see if she spoke with anyone else. She didn’t. She came in, browsed 2 aisles nowhere near any employees, and then came to the desk to yell at us about something that never happened. I’m still just like ???? How boring is your life???

I really don't care if you've been going to the gym for years and you didn't have to sign in before. I'm doing my job. Don't give me shit because I'm not groveling at your feet. And sure as hell don't try to complain to the owner, this isn't Chick-fil-A and you aren't going to get me in trouble. Just put your name on the damn sheet. FUCKING hell!

People keep telling me to apply to target bc working at Walmart is shit. They treat employees like shit and mess so badly w scheduling and pay its ridiculous but I'm thinking retail is just shit anyhow so why leave?

They're both garbage. Retail is a flaming hot pile of garbage.

I hate the cartwheel ad signs bc no one takes 2 seconds to read them and figure out they need the app to get the deal. Had a lady yesterday that thought it meant you put the item in your cart and you get the discount automatically. I'm so done

We just got 2 new LODs at my Target and it's awful They don't understand how we do things at our store and are such micro managers. They expected me to take down ad, do 2 pulls, and perfectly zone a and b in 3 hours and were mad when I couldn't do it

I had a bad day today at work and have enjoyed reading through your blog, so I thought I’d share a funny story.

I work in softlines, and on black friday (while frantically and fruitlessly trying to zone and pickup), a woman comes up to me for assistance. She needs help finding a pajama set for her son, which is not a problem. I tell her I’ll look for it to save time, so she stands by me while I rummage through our racks. I hear her mutter something behind me. I ask her if she can say again, as I didn’t hear.

Customer: can boys wear scarves? I don’t know if they can…

Me: oh, uh, of course they can. Do you need a scarf for your son?

Customer: no, I don’t think scarves are for boys…

Me: …. well, anybody can wear a scarf, including boys. We even have some in the kid’s accessories. I can show you if you’d like.

Customer: hmm… no… i don’t know…

Me: if you’re worried about the colors, we have many scarves in neutral colors.

Customer: no… i don’t think boys can wear scarves…

…. and then she wandered away, still muttering. She didn’t want the pajamas, I guess. Who would have thought that scarves could give someone an existential crisis?

They didn't log me into the system so I didn't get paid on Friday. So of course I had to go out of town. When I get back I'm told that I have to wait another two days to get paid in cash because they fucked up. This is why I don't work for you anymore.

working at target was one of the shittiest summers ever--none of the employees know how to communicate, they're shit at being understanding or HUMAN about giving time off, and I was never offered the same job opportunities as a male cashier that started working there after me

Oh this is a fun story. So I'm unavaible thursdays/fridays. i told HR I would work thanksgiving/BF/Sat on two conditions: I have at least 10 hours between shifts (i have health problems and need 7 hours of sleep) and i'm off by 3:30 on saturday bc it's my moms birthday (lately i've been doing 8-4:30 guest service on saturdays so I didn't think it'd be an issue). i check the schedule last friday and they had me (cont)

Resubmit the second half cause I'm a derp and accidentally deleted it

Working 10pm to 6:30am in electronics on Thursday then 8am to 4pm in flexible fulfillment on Friday.

This overnights tho. RIP
