I think people coming around to The Cursed Heart is my current favorite Choices fandom twist. I mean we’ve seen this happen with Ride or Die and Distant Shores to an extent so I still saw this coming.

Also. The lead writer has always been plot>romance in her books so I’m not too surprised this book is the first Single LI book to not feature the only LI for like 3 chapters

I just wanted to say I agree with you on the idea that Kieran was trying to rescue MC by claiming them. I knew from the get go as soon as MC started interacting with the Sun Court that something was very wrong. They basically lovebomb (for lack of a better term) MC from the beginning and then there's the thing with the fae food and drink. And I fully believe there was no way they were letting MC leave. Radiance even implied they were about to claim MC for themselves too, I think.

Yeah, I have read enough Fae stuff to know that the Sun/Summer/Light court is often just as scary as the Moon/Winter/Dark court, often more so because they pretend to be something they are not. Radiance was definitely suspicious and remember MC told him the whole story about the cursed heart and Radiance kept trying to get MC to eat/drink. Interestingly, there has been no mention of MC eating in the Moon Court yet. She has served Kieran but not eaten anything herself and Kieran certainly hasn’t offered her any unlike Radiance who was offering it at every turn,

And yes, he was absolutely about to claim her.

Right now we are supposed to see Kieran as cold and imposing and Radiance as warm and friendly. Radiance was seeming very kind to us while Kieran is holding us against our will, but the thing about the fae is that nothing is ever the way it appears. It is all tricks and illusions and carefully misleading statements. We saw that very clearly in the scene with Radiance and the Sun Court fairies, how tricky they were with their words.

The other interesting thing is that @thelonewolfstar brought to my attention that the gender of Longclaw’s sibling changed depending on the gender of Kieran/Radiance you picked.

The little sibling that gave Longclaw the berries that turned her into a bear and had her her running away from her home (which she was set to inherit, even if she had no interest). I am going to bet that Radiance is that sibling and ended up inheriting the house instead.

I have also seen people speculating that Kieran is the monster and that it is part of their curse and that the heart gem is part of it. I feel like MC might have ended up with the gem because of Kieran’s act of kindness towards them, pointing that they can be the one to break the curse and free his heart. But I feel like Radiance has other plans.

Anyway, I am 99.99% convinced that Radiance is the bad guy of this book.

I didn't realize Longclaw's sibling's gender changes, but I had a feeling that the little brother knew what berries he gave his sister. But we'll see where this book goes.

On a side note, I wish PB gave us an option to pick the gender for Radiance too (or in TNA for Robin lol).

I am enjoying it. It is a little slow build and the chapters are a tad short but I think that is the problem when you are trying to keep the romance slow burn in a single LI book.

Theories, well that red gem is 100% Kieran's Heart. That line about not having a heart? Total give away and dumbass MC thought it was a dig at her.

The lack of heart is tied to the beast form curse and why the Moon Court is dying.
