Brennan you are such a sicko for introducing Amethar looking at the statues of his dead sisters. What do you mean he is both Ned and Robert looking at the statue of Lyanna in the crypts!!! Also every word out of calroys mouth being a LIE including "You Are A Good King".. unmatched.

The Walk! While seeing Caramelinda effortlessly dunk on every member of the party in rapid succession rules, it makes me so sad how normal this sort of stressful encounter with her family is when you see how soft she talks to Liam, the like one person who 1. Hasnt cast her as the "mean" parent 2. Isn't her employee. Just makes it so so brutal that Liam kind of misses her point in proposing he find a match as a tool to get out of wardship while he interprets it as sort of normal parent nagging. Look at her marriage for five seconds.. she did not marry Amethar bc she just looooved amatonormativity sooo much it was a political move!! I know Ally was kind of suspicious of her later in the season but I hope they keep in touch post-canon.

Pregaming analysis wise bc I think it'll be fun to see if I can remember enough about each episode to predict some of the moments that jump out to me on a rewatch; Really want to pay attention to the caramelinda & liam convo and of course my sweet pea the sugarplum fairy :)

ep 1 - every rewatch puts me more on Caramelinda's side. Amethar is so irresponsible. Also Calroy intentionally undermining Caramelinda in a jocular way is so....... You absolute snake. He says "if we all get in trouble she can't be mad at all of us." 1. She absolutely can 2. Theobald saying he doesn't like to get in trouble. Mood. Absolute mood. 3. The entire convo about how a king can't coup does rule with the benefit of knowing where it ends up.

God i love Sprinkle. I am so sad that Theo dismisses him. The little babbling voice Brennan does for him is so cute.

I love that after Amethar gives Ruby Lazuli's bow Theo rolls a deception check which clears Ruby's insight. Of course she doesn't pay close enough attention to notice Theo's reaction. He loved his mentor and she is so spoiled that she doesn't even think to notice that Theo has an interior life or past. She only sees that he spoils her fun. Of course he spoils her fun. He watched on as her aunts died one by one!

Amethar is sooooo funny and also inept and tragic. He's illiterate and decided he should help his daughters skip their lessons too.

Very funny to think about Amethar ordering Theobald to dance and Saccharina ordering him to fuck. The man loves being told what to do. Mood.

Lapin seems to relish the idea of getting to create the schedule for the trip to Comida, blocking the girls from going to gift shops. Lapin being like a full hater that is intentionally making the twins miserable is really funny to think about. Lapin is a character I am the least interested in and don't focus much on in my rewatching, mostly skipping the episodes he's even in. But this is a really fun aspect of his character. I feel like the lapin fics I've read don't touch on this much at all. Maybe it's more common in his solo fics but it's really absent from his ship fics (which I read to ragebait myself. ) Wells's Lapin & Cara friendship is my favorite of his relationships and we see sooooo little of it. The crumbs!!!!

It's fun to hear that Constano Grissini will be waiting for them but they are so stressed by the combat and totally overwhelmed with a volume of information that not a single person remembers at the end of episode 2 and everyone is super paranoid when he shows up.

Happy to present 🫀"All Gore Goes, Too,"🫀 a collaborative 18+ D20 fanzine organized by @ribbittrobbit and me. There will be artwork and a fanfic entry with gore and other 18+ themes (everything will be labelled in a table of contents in case there are squicks/triggers you'd like to skip).

This year we are raising money for 🩸Canadian Blood Services🩸 for the month of October 2025! The zine will be digitally released (pdf and a transcript) as pay what you want.

Rewatched the portion of the acoc finale adventuring party where ally talks about their backup character and the quangle with Amanda Maillard and wooooow I feel like we would have gotten finale pvp if Liam had died. Amanda is sooooo ride or die for Caramelinda that she absolutely would have tried to take out Saccharina. She's so violent and quick to fight and difficult to reason with. Wow!!!!

Amanda is so much more like Keradin than any other character we had. Just blind fury and loyalty. If Cara wanted Rina dead I think she would have really tried.

Hello everyone! Here is the submission form to suggest prompt for underrated d20 ship week! Copy and pasting the idea for this from the interst poll:

It will operate like a normal ship week, however you will be encouraged to use the prompts to make creations for any d20 ship you personally find underrated. It can be from any campaign, and unlike the last event, IH PCs are allowed to be included this time! The only rule would be that it can't be a ship that is obviously popular, like Figayda from fantasy for example.

Feel free to suggest any prompt you think will be nice! It can be vague, something like "flowers" or more complex if you wish! Prompts already used during underrated d20 month are allowed.

Spent a lot of my drive home from work today thinking about the ways Ruby is similar to Amethar. Obviously the loss of her sister, being the youngest.

But the thing I really thought about was how Ruby was set up to be taking Lazuli's path, but Ruby never shows much interest in magic. Where it comes from, what it can do. She learns find familiar and uses fog cloud but she's not motivated to bring the strength of magic back to Candia. Jet is absolutely on board. This non-magical martial fighter Jet has these banned books and wants to know magic's place in the world and arcane trickster Ruby is totally content to use the bit of magic she has and never share it with her people. This cultivated resource that is what allows tiny Candia to stand a chance and she doesn't have any interest in spreading it.

She's just like Amethar. He takes the cola that Lazuli made for him, he takes the magic weapon, but he doesn't foster candian magic for his 20 years on the throne. He doesn't pick up Lazuli's research or find someone who can. He lets all of that knowledge, all of that effort languish for 20 years.

Theo gives an impassioned speech about how Lazuli sacrificed herself for the future of candian magic and Ruby isn't inspired by that. She doesn't say "I will pick up my aunt's work." she says "I don't want to read a book." She's just like Amethar. She takes the twizzling blade and she takes Yak and she takes sourscratch and is content to leave it there. To not live out her aunt's vision. To use mage hand to do trapeze tricks and to let candian magic end with her.

A Crown of Candy, you're just so rich and juicy and I can't stop thinking about you.

rewatched episodes 13, 14, & 15 of acoc this weekend because i'm a sick freak (family ties, the ice cream temple, and then prep for the finale.) and there's this combo of the family continuing to push away Saccharina, Gooey telling her that she has a family that has chosen her, and then Saccharina tells Theo that Cinnamon is the first being who has ever loved her just for existing.

been thinking a lot about how sad that is and also how much that might hurt Gooey's feelings. Gooey is so ride or die for Saccharina, she's absolutely willing to do anything for Saccharina and Gooey's kind of invisible to her. It makes me soooo curious what their relationship started as. it feels inevitable to me that they were in love once and it ended, but how? why? does one of them still carry a torch for the other? have they both moved on? honestly? both of them seen emotionally unavailable & repressed and unable to have conversations about their feelings. they also both read as tops to me. was that an incompatibility? god i would read a whole novel just about the doomed sapphic love story of gooey and saccharina. a lost unknown princess and her right hand. rending my garments. they're so beautiful and sad to me.
