You live in a free nation, with access to every form of media imaginable, and which is home to a whole array of different political parties to choose from.

And still people sprout “I don’t know much about the politicians and their policies”.

JFC, it takes 5 mintues to Google things like “What’s Labour’s stance on the NHS”, “Who is Boris Johnson”, “Who uses the Euro”.

But no, that’s far too fucking difficult. Better to let yet another vote pass, and whine and bitch about how you felt left out and ignored again.

On “Jane The Virgin” and the importance of being entertaining

It’s time to reclaim “entertaining” as a positive word when it comes to talking about television.

Dustin Rowles articulated a few things that had been banging around in my head for the past few weeks. I’ve written plenty about my problems with “The 100” this season, but lost in recent controversy was the fact that I wasn’t exactly thrilled with it before the Lexa material surfaced. In fact, you could go back to last December, in which I praised the show even while fearing for its future:

I’m hoping Season 3 starts to show as many wins as losses, otherwise the show might dissolve into torture porn.

 And while I couched that praise at the time, I can’t help but think that type of praise gave rise to the type of drama that is generally seen as “prestige” at this point in 2016. To be sure, I’m not saying my past writing alone led to networks embracing a darker edge in order to curry favor. (After a few beers? Sure, I’ll totally take full credit. But not now.) But dramas that go dark are generally viewed as “important,” for reasons that I completely and utterly do not get.

work is awesome

really like being at a gp surgery as there’s constantly stuff happening

all the rest of the staff are really cool and friendly 

i also have actual proper stuff to do, not just standard intern-stuff like paperwork and making drinks

not gonna be on here much during the week bc between working 8.30am-6.30pm, keeping on top of housework & garden, entertaining the monsters, and exercising 6 days a week i’m gonna be pretty pooped
