This survey is designed to be taken by people with a dissociative disorder. The purpose of this survey is to better understand the amount and type of stigma people with dissociative disorders experience and how it affects them. The results of this survey will be published however all participants will remain anonymous. Please answer these questions to the best of your ability. Stigma Definition: a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person.

it’s okay to be quiet. it’s okay to rest, to take a break from being loud all of the time. it’s okay to hide and let the host take charge for a while. it doesn’t mean you’re faking. i promise you it’s okay.
I think there are parts trying to kill me. I keep coming to in dangerous places (on train tracks, in the middle of the road, in my car with a hose from the exhaust in the window). I don’t know what to do. My dr wants me to be in hospital but I get really scared when they lock me in and I don’t want to be there. I don’t know whether I want to die or not. I am really scared and shakey and sick and I just want to sleep but I can’t. I’m sorry if this isn’t okay I just don’t know what to do sorry

I know it’s scary, but I would recommend listening to your doctor, but on your own terms. Research inpatient facilities that are actually helpful and seem like a place where you’d be comfortable. Inpatient facilities are evolving and becoming a lot lot better, just because you get help it doesn’t mean you’ll be locked out and very often they will encourage rehabilitation and leaving the facility once you’re good and ready.
However if you just need someone to talk to, feel free to message me off anon anytime, I won’t judge or do anything to endanger you x
