daisy | 2hollis (stalker! hollis x reader) part 2
summary: hollis lands in another city for another show. he's not expecting anything spectacular, until he sees you through a window and realizes he simply can't hold back (basically part 1 from hollis' pov)
a/n: i know i said part 2 would have smut but i promise part 3 will have it! i haven't written a fanfic in about a year, and i've never written smut before, so i'm a little nervous for it to be bad haha. also, thank you guys for all the support on the first part! enjoy!
the moment he saw you, nothing else mattered. not the loud, bustling crowd of the airport, not roman trying to hand him his shitty airport coffee, not the group of girls whispering and pointing at him, debating on whether or not he'd take a picture with them.
maybe the tour would've gone so much differently if he hadn't glanced out that window and seen you. slight slouch in your step, like you'd just been working all day. you probably had been, judging by the business casual outfit and the lanyard hanging out of your purse. your hand flexed tightly around the strap, eyes glued forward yet down slightly as if you were trying your best to be invisible.
but you had managed to become anything but invisible to him.
"hollis..? dude. dude take this, it's burning my fucking hand." roman thrust the coffee against hollis' chest, who fumbled to grab it without dropping it. the whole time, his eyes never left you. but he swore that he saw you turn your head oh so slightly towards him. then you picked up your pace.
"well, hotel is 15 minutes away. do i call the uber?" nate asked, pulling out his phone.
"yeah, you guys go ahead. i think im gonna make a few stops." hollis said, also getting his phone out. he rapidly typed "car rentals near me" into the search bar.
"what could you possibly need?" roman asked, lifting his sunglasses. "we just got here."
"i'm hungry. and i think i left my charger in the hotel like, two stops ago." hollis said. he reached his hand into the pocket of his carry-on and made sure the charging cord was tucked deep inside.
"whatever man. ubers five minutes out." nate said. roman rolled his eyes. but hollis couldn't really find it in himself to care.
an hour and a $600 partial payment later, hollis was driving a black sports car through the streets. he had doubted he'd find you again that day, so imagine his surprise as he pulled past the patio of a restaurant and saw you. sat across from another girl, in a completely different outfit, makeup redone, smiling and chatting.
hollis felt his heart dip just a little. he had thought you were so gorgeous in those work clothes, he hadn't prepared himself for this.
after about five minutes of parking lot camping, he summoned the bravery to head inside and ask for a table for one. not outside, too suspicious. but fate was in his favor, as the waitress sat him on the other side of the giant window outlooking the patio. his eyes were glued to you before he had sat down fully.
and that was his first mistake.
he watched you tense ever so slightly, and your smile went from genuine to completely fake. hollis immediately scooted his chair back from the window. you flagged down the waitress, who left and returned moments later with a to go box and a bill. shit.
he slid out of his seat and out the door quickly. he watched from his car as you pulled out of the parking lot, and part of him wanted to stop, weigh the pros and cons of this, maybe head back to the hotel. but he just couldn't hold himself back.
the next few days were stressful for him, to say the least. up early to rehearse, friend group asking him to get lunch, go out to this club. it was the most stressful to dodge their questions of "you aren't coming? well where are you going, then?"
because he really couldn't let them know he spent at least 6 hours every day watching you. watching you head into work, get groceries, go to the gym, meet up with friends. and if he had a busy day and couldn't make time, he'd slip out of the hotel and park outside at night. you lived on the ground floor, so he would stand outside his car, smoking as a cover as he peeked in your window.
but he could tell you knew something was up, because after about 3 days, you quit going out. no more work, no one came over, curtains were shut tight. groceries got dropped at your doorstep, and part of hollis was pissed when it was a man delivering. he didn't know why, after all, he didn't even know you name.
so after you gave him a little cold shoulder treatment, hollis had to resort to texting. it was tough to get your number, but he got it. it's not like he would've just stopped if he couldn't. he also came to the conclusion that the bouquet of daisies on the porch had been too far. it was physical, real proof that you could hold in your hands and use to say 'someone is watching me'.
you also never responded, and that was when he realized this might not work. after all, the show was tomorrow. he'd be leaving the next day.
people you may like in your area - y/n, 2hollifanpage, and 4 more. just now
something about that first username was practically glowing to him. he clicked it and almost passed out when it brought up your face. underneath it, full highlights and pages of nothing but you, the things you do, the things you're interested. concert clips, vacations, dinners. jackpot.
hollis sat up quickly in bed. it was nearly midnight, and he was about to go to sleep. but now that was the last thing on his mind. he quickly copied your username and switched to his fake account. no profile picture, a handful of random bot followers. enough to look not suspicious.
now that he he was hidden, he clicked your story. the phone genuinely slipped from his grip slightly.
his own post, showing all of his tour dates. tomorrows date was circled. 'can't wait! @y/n thank u for the 🎫!' the texts above it said. it was a friends story post that you had reposted. you wrote your own text 'me either! anything for you bby' above hers.
his head was reeling so quickly he could hear ringing in his ears. he had almost accepted that you were out of reach. but in less than 24 hours, you'd be in the same room as him, watching him perform.
he tightened the grip on his phone and pressed a hand to his hot face. time to focus.
please add this backtrack to the very end of the setlist. also, move jeans to the end as well. no encore.
the sound of the cheering fans and roman's booming bass was giving hollis a headache. he hadn't slept, he had been too busy deconstructing every single instagram post of yours. you loved horror movies but hated to see animals die, your hobbies were maybe basic, but to him it was the most niche and extraordinary thing he'd ever seen.
he also saw that you had a rather large dog, which he kept note of for later.
"hey man, roman's done. you're gonna be up soon." his manager said. "hollis? hey. hey man, are you okay?" he snapped his fingers in front of hollis' face.
"i'm fine, sorry dude." hollis said, forcing a slight smile. "i'm ready."
the second he burst onto the stage, he blocked everything out best he could. the cheers, the speakers, the flashing lights. he scanned the crowd for your face, but couldn't find you. oh well. he had 2 hours to look out into the crowd for you.
and by the one hour mark, he had spotted you. drink in hand, shouting over the noise to your friend. you just keep getting more stunning, hollis thought, eyes still on lock. he tried to keep it subtle, but as he queued up for the last song, he just couldn't. by now, your hair was slightly messy, and the thin layer of sweat on your face was illuminated by the stage lights, like you were an angel.
your friend leaned over to you, and you looked all around before stopping on him. he felt like he was going to die right then and there. he silently prayed that this last decision wouldn't fuck things up too bad.
i can't eat or sleep at all
can we please just stop this?
he didn't care that some fans were starting to filter out. he didn't care that people quit singing along and recording. the only thing he was focused on was your reaction, which he couldn't really read from here. you looked like you wanted to smile, but something was holding you back. almost like you were sizing him up, trying to decide if he was who you thought he was. if he was dangerous.
the second the lights went down, hollis bolted off the stage, he didn't even bother to tell anyone he was going, or where. he was pushing 80, trying to get to your apartment before you did.
he parked in the same spot he always did, the one you couldn't see from your tiny apartment window. he walked up to your front door, thinking he'd just set up camp somewhere outside and wait for you to come home. as he went to back off of your welcome mat, he felt a small lump under his boot.
a spare key. good lord. it's like you were begging him to come inside, or any other person who just so happened to look in the right spot.
he held it in his palm, and for the first time since the airport, he actually thought about his decision. watching you from afar, that's one thing. but walking into your private space, where you are supposed to be safe, at peace, that's definitely a leap.
he pulled his phone out. 11:46. you'd be stuck in the traffic leaving the venue for a while, and then you had to take your friend home to a town in the opposite direction. he had time.
hollis slipped the key in the door.
the first thing he heard was a bark! from the dark hallway. flicking the light on, he quietly approached your dog. as big as he might be, hollis had been watching him. he was a softie. he reached into his pocket to grab one of the dog treats he had purchased.
your dog gobbled it up, and hollis gave him one last pat on the head before moving over to sit in your favorite armchair. it was also his favorite because he could see you perfectly from the window when you sat there. sometimes watching tv, sometimes reading or playing a game, face crinkled in focus.
he shut the light off and got comfy, but not before taking a peek around. he examined every picture frame, took note of the drinks in your fridge, and looked in the medicine cabinet. what else was he supposed to do?
he checked his phone one last time as he sat in the dark.
we at the hotel waiting on u see you later ig 10 min ago
dude where are you?? 11:08 pm
where tf have u been going 11:34 pm
bruh we're all gonna wait up for u 11:57 pm
he shut his phone off without opening a single notification. he didn't care what they thought he was doing or how they felt. he cared about meeting you, hearing your voice, hearing how you sounded when you were face first into a mattress as he-
your dog perked up from his sleeping position on the couch across from hollis at the same time he heard gravel crunching. your headlights beamed in through the window and he quickly sank down in the seat to dodge them. the second the lights and engine cut off, he stood up. his eye caught the spare key he'd left on the counter. hopefully you didn't mind.
as your keys jingled lightly on the other side of the door, hollis had to bite back a smirk. any uncertainty for this plan had vanished. tonight, he was going to walk away from this as something other than "2hollis" or "that stalker" to you.
but you? you don't exactly have the option to walk away.
