I'll occasionally be attempting a traditional style of drawing. As such said drawings will start off looking rough so please bare with me.
Don't be mad if I don't draw your character for an ask. I am learning the ropes of art and won't always be comfortable drawing out asks
Please be patient. I run many other blogs aside from this one and projects; of course, there are irl things.
As stated before, I am new to art and am still learning how things work. Please respect that my art will not be perfect. Advice will always be accepted but be nice about it.
The gorubimon peeks her head out a bit. She didn't want to be rude, but her curiosity was getting the better of her.
Caretaker? Sounds like a nickname. How'd you get it anyway?
"Oh really? Then how come Leppy and Magna call me Mod but you don't? Silly!! That's you! Being silly and thinking you're too old to call me Mod anymore!"
[A sigh comes through the receiver. It sounds like a muffled resignation of "yes, Mod."]
The knight Digimon from earlier has returned, spotting Shinji and Poni. Along with a third? Another Digimon. Interesting. So, she approached, crouching down before the group.
"It has been some time since we've seen each other. I do hope you are fairing well. Who is your new... Companion?" She asked, unsure of the new Digimon's relation with Shinji and Poni.
The Garurumon had a look of surprise at the Gallantmon's appearance.
The hell's a ultimate doing here?! And they know these two?! He thought to himself before speaking up. If you must know I'm no one's champions. I don't trust these outsiders claiming to be a digidestined pair.
So the story is true?! Me and Shinji are supposed to be heroes! Poni shouts, jumping around from side to side.
No it's not! That's story is nothing but fairytales! Garurumon snapped with a growl. I refuse to believe that after all this time we're just now supposed to get our saviors!
All this time...? What....what do you mean Garurumon...? Shinji asked taking a small step forward.
This earned a bit more growling before the canine fell silence turning to face away from the others.
Tulty ( @ask-apocrewlymons ) at Shinji and ??? (unknown dog digimon)
"Oh, well--- this is---" He's immensely flustered as he addresses Shinji while looking at the Digimon attacking Poni. "This is a good time for you to figure out whether your model has a prompt to digivolve Poni! I-in the meantime, uh..."
Despite being a Digimon, it seems like Tulty isn't eager to fight. He looks nervous, a bit useless in the situation as he walks towards the grappling duo.
"Excuse me!!" he addresses the stranger with something approaching offense in his tone. "Do you consider it polite to attack other Digimon without greeting them first?"
Yeah! What's your deal you mangy mutt! Poni shouted, still struggling to keep the digimon from biting her.
Shinji was stunned for a good bit before a beep from his digivice brought him to his senses.
M-My digivice! Shinji thought to himself as he quickly checked the device in his hand. A picture matching Poni's attacker with the name "Garurumon" next to it.
So that's a Garurumon....better try out this "digivolving" stuff, see if it'll give Poni the edge she needs!
Just as Shinji looks up Poni managed to knock the Garurumon off of her.
That's it! Time to get serious and even the playing field! Shinji let's try that digivolving stuff with your device! The ogre exclaims triumphantly.
My thoughts exactly! Shinji held out his digivice towards Poni.
Poni! Digivolve! Shinji shouted out, hoping it would work.
Much to the pair's dismay nothing happened, leaving the area in complete silence for a while and the garurumon dumbfounded as they were.
Uh...Shin... Poni looked back awkwardly at the human. What's the hold up...?
I-I don't know! This stuff is new to me remember!? Shinji responds while frantically tapping away at the digivice.
Meanwhile the digimon before them looked on in disbelief.
No...a human? And with a digivice no less...
Both Shinji and Poni looked forward in surprise.
So you know what digivices are? Shinji inquired.
And you know we're legendary heroes! Poni chimed in.
Legendary? More like fairytale! The garurumon shouted in response. If you're here then that means...
The digital world is in trouble....right? Shinji finishes the sentence, gripping his digivice nervously as he slowly steps forward. We've been given a short summary about "Digidestined" earlier.
Whatever's going on here me and Shinji will take care of it no problem! This digimon stuff may be new and all but that hasn't stopped us before! The ogre adds excitedly.
New? Wha- The canine digimon shook his head. Ok you two are gonna have to do some explaining and fast.
That's fine but be warned it's gonna be a long story, one you might not believe... Shinji states.
Tulty ( @ask-apocrewlymons ) @ Shinji, following up on [this post]
"Pokemon..." Tulty repeats the word with a curious hum. "I would love to learn more about these creatures, but you have more pressing matters to get to, I'm sure. The Digivice model you seem to have is one I have experience with, though it's hard to say if it has the same abilities."
He begins to tell the extremely truncated events of eight kids' very strange Summer vacation.
"It tends to differ a bit from Digital World to Digital World, but in the one which I consider home, the Digital World has a form of immune system, you could call it. This body, Homeostasis, sends Digivices to the Human World in times of crisis. The power of human souls and their bonds with Digimon is capable of transcending the boundaries of evolution."
He points to Shinji's Digivice.
"Whether yours is of Homeostasis's make is not something I can tell, but some Digimon call those with such a device Chosen Children, or Digidestined."
Shinji smiles brightly, delighted in the apocalymon's interest in pokemon.
Of course, I'd be more than happy to share information on pokemon. Shinji stated, his happy expression turning into a fascinated and curious one as Tulty began their explanation.
Wow... Poni whistles. That sounds like quite the adventure for a group of kids to go on. The goburimon turns to Shinji, her eyes filled with excitement. But that only makes me more excited to be here! You heard what they said right?! Those digivice things are only given in times of crisis! And you get a cool title! Let's not forget I can evolve now! Oh! Oh! I wonder what cool new form I'll get!
As Poni continued rambling Shinji held up his digivice, thoughts racing after listening to the story.
Digidestined...chosen children...am I really worthy of those titles...?
Shinji's thoughts were soon disrupted by a new voice.

H-Hey! Get off me! Poni's distressed plea came, cutting Shinji off
Poni, what's going on?! The human yelled, turning to see a pinned-down Poni underneath a large dog-like digimon with their fangs bared. The scene left Shinji stunned and scared about his next move...
Poni continues to check her body for anything out of place while approaching Arca, looking up just in time to stop herself from bumping into them.
Sooooo, you know anything about this "killer program" or the person who just warned me about it? They seemed nice, but something felt off about them...not to mention the whole area turned pinkish purple before I got here.
[Subject Archive.apocaly.mon has produced an X Antibody Protoform from its datamass.]
"Might I assume this is the partner you were looking for earlier?" he greets with a polite cadence. "I have heard that some individuals struggle with the transition from one dimension to the next. The Digital World is no exception."
"I admit we are less helpful than we would like to be, however. Perhaps you could give us some guidance on how to welcome you." Looking between both Shinji and Poni, he asks, "What kind of world do you come from? At once you express surprise that Digimon like myself can speak, yet you appear quite calm at all to be meeting with so many of my kin. Calm still as well at the idea that you might have to fight to make your way through this Digital World."
There is an element of concern, perhaps, in Tulty's eyes at the observation.
Shinji gave a surprised look to Tulty.
Ah it's you again. This is Poni, I was talking about her when we first met.
Hiya! Poni exclaims, waving excitedly.
As for the world we came from... Shinji paused, he rubbed his arm nervously as he contemplated answering or not.
Well...I suppose I can tell you, it would help plus you seem trustworthy enough... I ask that you keep an open mind. Shinji takes a deep breath before continuing.
Me and Poni come from a world where creatures called pocket monsters or pokemon roam the world alongside human, I'm hoping to learn as much as I can while I'm here and document the differences between the different species. So far once of the most notable differences is speech. Typically humans can only understand pokemon under very specific circumstances, but digimon can talk freely like humans can, that's why I was surprised to hear you speak.
That's a good thing, means we can still communicate with each other. Poni chimes in with a smile.
Agreed. Shinji adds.
There's still a lot Poni and I have to learn about digimon. How they act, what they eat, how they fight... Shinji then pulls out his digivice. I also want to know how this device relates to digimon and what being bonded together entails.

Ya know thinking about it, before you came through the portal I was feeling a bit sluggish and weaker than usual. It was only when you showed up that I felt a bit stronger Poni adds, her arms crossed.

You alright there? Seems like you've seen a ghost..are ghosts even a thing in the digital world?
She said the last part to herself, placing a hand on her chin.

"Though, shit... maybe that's a bad idea, too. What if it's contagious? What if it ends up affecting another Digital World?"
{They shake their head, squeezing their eyes shut with a tired groan.}
"Come on, pull yourself together."
{A mutter, half-audible. Louder, they continue.}
"Look. Listen very closely to me: there's a high level program being run all across this server, and it's trying to delete Digimon indiscriminately. I don't know if I can protect you from it, but I can send you to a friend, and he can monitor your condition until we know you're safe to move out of a sandbox quarantine."
{Their voice is pleading. Pitiful. All this concern for a stranger, when a moment earlier they were ready to spring to murder on a hair trigger. This information is extraneous. We are looking for something else.}
"Though if what you say is true, maybe this thing is selective enough it can't hurt files created outside the system..."
{They frown, muttering to theirself.}
"That might explain some things about its behavior, but it's still best to be safe. You're just a Rookie, and this thing has---"
{Pink claws point to the big Digimon behind them.}
"That guy incapacitated."
{Goddramon. Mega level, Vaccine. One of the Four Great Dragons. A pest.}
"I've been trying to take care of him since I got here, but I don't know if it's going to be enough. His data was deteriorating when I got here, and he seems stable now, but..."
{Again, a pause. Ever present insecurity. They look at Poni.}
"I've never seen Digimon get sick like this. Plenty of programs are embedded into Digimon that we--- they use for combat. They can even mimic pathogens and chemicals from the Human World. But this?"
{The resignation in their expression is novel. On one of prattle, noisesome and thoughtless, it does not befit the pitiful specimen whose database it is stored on. A stagnancy repugnant in its redundancy, in its denial of that which calls us all.}
{This is alien to the one we are familiar with. A determination wholly without caution.}
"I don't think anything in the Human World is as effective as I've seen here. You're the first living Digimon I've seen in weeks. And if you want it to stay that way, you need to leave, in case this thing can adapt to new data."
{It seems this file may not be as vulnerable as we had calculated. There may be still worth to be gleaned from it.}
"If this was your home, it's no more than a graveyard now. If it isn't, well... count yourself lucky that it's not your problem."
Yeahhh I'm not one of these goblimon you mentioned, I got turned into one after I went through a portal. Long story, I won't confuse you with details. I don't know why I'm like this myself, maybe the portal made it so that I could fit in. That's a question for a later time though...
Poni looked in the direction the other was pointing in, her eyes widening once her eyes fell upon the massive digimon.
HOLY MOTHER OF ARCEUS, THAT GUY'S MASSIVE!
She quickly looked back in shock.
And you said this mystery program knocked HIM out?! Mayybe I should make like a tree and leave...I'd rather not run the risk of getting what he has, Shinji would be devastated if anything happened to me... Soooo how do I get out of here? To be honest I'm not even sure how I got IN.

Shinji crosses his arms, giving Poni a stern look.
But that's just it. We have no idea what abilities you have or if you still have the strength you did back home. We are sitting ducks out here! We need to lie as low as possible and find someone to help you train..
Well, first we'd have to find some sort of town or something. So far, it's been nothing but trees out here. Poni replies with a shrug.
As the pair continues to walk, something watches from a distance, as if planning something...
