"Pokemon..." Tulty repeats the word with a curious hum. "I would love to learn more about these creatures, but you have more pressing matters to get to, I'm sure. The Digivice model you seem to have is one I have experience with, though it's hard to say if it has the same abilities."
He begins to tell the extremely truncated events of eight kids' very strange Summer vacation.
"It tends to differ a bit from Digital World to Digital World, but in the one which I consider home, the Digital World has a form of immune system, you could call it. This body, Homeostasis, sends Digivices to the Human World in times of crisis. The power of human souls and their bonds with Digimon is capable of transcending the boundaries of evolution."
He points to Shinji's Digivice.
"Whether yours is of Homeostasis's make is not something I can tell, but some Digimon call those with such a device Chosen Children, or Digidestined."
Shinji smiles brightly, delighted in the apocalymon's interest in pokemon.
Of course, I'd be more than happy to share information on pokemon. Shinji stated, his happy expression turning into a fascinated and curious one as Tulty began their explanation.
Wow... Poni whistles. That sounds like quite the adventure for a group of kids to go on. The goburimon turns to Shinji, her eyes filled with excitement. But that only makes me more excited to be here! You heard what they said right?! Those digivice things are only given in times of crisis! And you get a cool title! Let's not forget I can evolve now! Oh! Oh! I wonder what cool new form I'll get!
As Poni continued rambling Shinji held up his digivice, thoughts racing after listening to the story.
Digidestined...chosen children...am I really worthy of those titles...?
Shinji's thoughts were soon disrupted by a new voice.

H-Hey! Get off me! Poni's distressed plea came, cutting Shinji off
Poni, what's going on?! The human yelled, turning to see a pinned-down Poni underneath a large dog-like digimon with their fangs bared. The scene left Shinji stunned and scared about his next move...

"Curious about the two of you. What are your goals? Anything in particular or are you trying to find your way in this scattered plain of existence? I've always had my questions about digimon and humans bonded by a digivice."
Ravage paused, considering how to word its question.
"Is there a physical sensation that comes with being bonded? Or is the digivice the only reminder you have?"
Poni smiles.
We're here to explore and seek out adventure! It's not everyday you find out there's a whole new world completely different from your own. Right Shin?
Shinji nods, rolling his eyes at the adventure half of her sentence
Digimon are also new to us. I'd like to learn as much as I can about them and the digital world as a whole. If possible I'd like to show my friends as well.
Poni chuckles a bit before asking a question.
You brought up humans and digimon being bonded by a digivice...what's that?
Shinji takes his digivice out of his pocket and shows it off to Poni.
They mean this Poni. And to answer your question, it's a bit of a long story but me and Poni aren't exactly your standard partner pair...
Yup! I'm not actually a di- Poni starts to respond before Shinji covers her mouth.
Let's not bring that up. If this place is as dangerous as we keep hearing then it's best we don't let anyone else know who we are or how we go here. Who knows who could be lurking around....
Poni moves Shinji's hand away from her mouth.
Alright alright. That aside we don't really know what being bonded by a digivice entails. I don't exactly feel any special tingly feeling or whatever. Even then me and Shinji are thick as thieves anyway so maybe this bonding thing is like that!
I am curious about how this device can bond a human and a digimon together...maybe if I form a strong enough connection to an actual digimon it could happen... Shinji chimes in.
The knight Digimon from earlier has returned, spotting Shinji and Poni. Along with a third? Another Digimon. Interesting. So, she approached, crouching down before the group.
"It has been some time since we've seen each other. I do hope you are fairing well. Who is your new... Companion?" She asked, unsure of the new Digimon's relation with Shinji and Poni.
The Garurumon had a look of surprise at the Gallantmon's appearance.
The hell's a ultimate doing here?! And they know these two?! He thought to himself before speaking up. If you must know I'm no one's champions. I don't trust these outsiders claiming to be a digidestined pair.
So the story is true?! Me and Shinji are supposed to be heroes! Poni shouts, jumping around from side to side.
No it's not! That's story is nothing but fairytales! Garurumon snapped with a growl. I refuse to believe that after all this time we're just now supposed to get our saviors!
All this time...? What....what do you mean Garurumon...? Shinji asked taking a small step forward.
This earned a bit more growling before the canine fell silence turning to face away from the others.
"Oh! I see you made it to the Digital World safely! It can be a bit dangerous for humans, depending on where you are. Did you receive a Digivice? It should help you find your partner. Er... sometimes. It depends on the Digivice, I suppose..."
It seems Tulty doesn't understand the mechanics of Pokemon. Or he's assuming that Shinji is looking for a Digimon.
Either way, the Apocalymon is a little confused, but welcoming despite the intimidating appearance.
At first, Shinji overlooked the Apocalymon while looking out for Poni or an exit.

When Shinji finally turned his eyes widened when he noticed he was looking at what he thought to be a leg.
W-Wha...?
He slowly looked up until he was able to see Tulty's face.
T-Tall...
Once he got over the initial shock, he gave a brief sigh.
A-Anyway, I don't believe I have this digivice thing you mentioned. Even if I did, I doubt it'll help me find a Pokemon...
Hey, quit it, will ya!?
A familiar voice echoed from up ahead, causing Shinji to perk up.
Poni?!
Shinji ran towards the sound only to find a small group of ogremon. The small group seemed to be fawning over an goburimon; this one seemed more feminine.
I already told you I'm not interested in being your queen! I just wanna find my friend and get out of here!
The female ogre shouted at the others, who only continued to swarm her.
Ugh! You guys are really starting to piss me o-
Poni stopped mid-sentence on account of Shinji coughing, and they exchanged surprised expressions for a bit before the boy slowly backed away.
Hey, don't just leave me here with these weirdos, Shinji! Poni exclaimed, almost lunging at him.
H-How do you know my name? Shinji asked nervously, earning a confused look from the ogre.
Uhh you told it to me when we met, duh. Don't tell me you hit your head and forgot about me. Came the reply. The goburimon placed her hands on her hips in a way that gave Shinji an indication of who it was.
Wait..Poni...? Shinji looked Poni up and down, his head tilted in confusion.
You look different...
Poni gave Shinji a shocked look.
What do you mean different?! Did my form change when I went through that portal?!
Shinji nods, crossing his arms.
Looks like it. Shinji stated.
If I had to guess, that the digimon equivalent of an ogerpon.
Poni gave herself a look over, admiring her new features.
Heh wow! I have hands now, kinda wish I was taller though... I guess I know why those creeps were begging me to stay. I must be the prettiest one of em all.
Poni puffs out her chest triumphantly meanwhile, Shinji's face twisted in horror as he was the one being swarmed by the crowd of now-angry ogremon.
U-Uhh...mind using your charm to get these guys off me?
Shinji was backing away from the angry digimon who were ready to pounce; in fact, one of them did, but was quickly intercepted by Poni.
Ok, now THIS is unacceptable! No one attacks Shinji and gets away with it!
Poni growls as she tries her best to hold back the out-of-control ogremon trying to get to Shinji.
Poni! Shinji quickly looked around for anything that could help but found nothing useful.
Y-You might wanna get going while the goings good, Shin! It's you they want, not me! Poni called out, slowly losing her footing.
N-No! I'm not gonna leave you here! I-I have to do something...I...I...!
Suddenly, a bright light flashed in Shinji's pocket. Noticing it, he frantically dug into his pocket, revealing a teal-colored device that resembled a V-pet.
What is...? Wait, could it be? Shinji recalls the term the Apocalymon used earlier.
Is this a digivice? But how did I-
I said get OFF!
The human was abruptly snapped back to reality by Poni's shouting. She seemed to have been able to push back the ogremon, though she was huffing and panting as she made her way over.
Let's get outta here before they recover yeah? Poni asked, earning a nod from Shinji.
After a few minutes of searching the pair finally found an exit and stepped outside.
Finally we made it! Poni exclaimed, raising her fist to the air.
Phew...I thought we'd be roaming that cave forever... Came Shinji's reply.
"What are you two little ones doing here? It's quite odd to see others in an area such as this..."
The knight Digimon straightened up from where she had been resting.
"Do you know how you got here?"
Poni smiles at the Gallantmon while Shinji looks on dumbfounded.
Just how tall are some of these digimon...? The trainer thought to himself as Poni conversed.
My partner, Shinji, and I are here looking for adventure! She exclaimed.
You see, where we come from, we have a bit of a reputation as heroes, and since things are peaceful, we wanted to try something new so here we are! Poni raises a fist in the air triumphantly.
Riggght...as for how we got here, we used an item that opens portals to the digital world. It was gifted to us so we thought we'd use it. Shinji added.
Now we're just looking for someone to help us navigate this place. This is a new experience for us and we want to have as smooth a time here as possible.

Looking to Poni and Shinji, he tilts his head quizzically. Tail swishing behind him as he ponders the thoughts in his head.
"Thou two were out here when the body appeared, yes? Did thou see anything suspicious?"
Shinji shakes his head.
Sadly we weren't paying attention, but we did get a clue that we're gonna follow up on. I assume everyone else got a clue as well. Maybe we could coordinate?
Yeah! Poni exclaims. We'll take down the murderer and put em behind bars!
Pigeon ( @starling-indulgence-prison ) to Poni and Shinji
Pigeon started at Solo's limp form on the floor... Half tempted to go kick it for the hell of it, but he held back.
"What do you two think of this whole... Murder mystery thing?"
He asked, looking to Poni and Shinji who were still in the room alongside him.

Shinji looked over to Solo's direction, his expression changing to an angered one after noticing Poni poking Solo with her club.
