There is an ancient and well-kept secret to happiness which the Great Ones have known for centuries. They rarely talk about it, but they use it all the time, and it is fundamental to good mental health. This secret is called The Fine Art of Not Being Offended. This is a lost art, one that’s almost untenable in the digital age.
“What he realised, and more clearly as time went on, was that money-worship has been elevated into a religion. Perhaps it is the only real religion-the only felt religion-that is left to us. Money is what God used to be. Good and evil have no meaning any longer except failure and success. Hence the profoundly significant phrase, to make good”
— Keep the aspidistra flying - George Orwell. Gordon Comstock really is the vilest little sod but I adore him!
Gordon Comstock has got to be my favorite literary character. He’s relentless, arrogant, and bitter. He quit his job at a bookstore to focus on writing. He despised capitalism and the ‘money-making world’. Unsurprisingly, he fell into abject poverty since it took him forever to write his ”magnum opus”. He got to eat and pay the rent. Though his friends loved him, he rejected their help. He’s over idealistic it’s almost funny.
Comstock is a character you’ll love to hate. He’s Holden Caulfield in steroid. I think Orwell created him as satire. But, Comstock has a profound effect on me even in a way that he’s everything that I’m not. A sort of anti-hero and I learn much from that character.
We live in a world where GTA is a kid’s game and Candy Crush is an adult’s.
New Spelling Bee Rules For Trump’s America
As the United States embraces a world of alternative facts under President Trump, it must also embrace alternative spelling. Those hardest hit by these changes are the children who compete in the world of high stakes Spelling Bee competitions.

Elon Musk has everyone excited about Mars, but what if we went back to the moon? It’s a much shorter trip and we already have some lunar mission experience. The European Space Agency wants to have a fully functional village there by the 2030s. (📷 : ESA)
