for those unaware today india experienced one of its biggest protests in half a decade. there were protests all over the nation for various causes but the major one was in delhi. all we asked for was the resignation of the education minister because he's failed the students of this nation time & time again. but we were met with brutality, the police had barricaded the main site of protest (jantar mantar). metro stations were shutdown, the public was restrained from reaching the protest site and all the adjoining areas had signal jammers to make sure the crowd had no access to constant updates. they had us blocked from all the sides. they were lathi (baton) charging students from one side & releasing tear gas from the other. you couldn't walk 100 m on streets without having a tear gas shell thrown at you. there were many students, women & kids bleeding — some from their head. some couldn't walk anymore. the police had removed their nameplates & acted with full impunity to resort to unprecedented levels of violence. they were pelting stones at us, beating up people for no reason, forcefully detaining them and attacking us constantly with tear gas & rubber bullets. they wouldn't let you exit either. the crowd was peaceful & looking out for each other yet they were met with violence. i made a friend who was all alone & she asked to join me & my friend because a policeman wouldn't leave her alone. he constantly prodded her for personal info, invited her back to the jeep saying they have food there, wouldn't stop following her around. you couldn't call or ask anyone for help, we were left to fend for ourselves & be on a constant lookout if you did not want to be beaten up to death by police. all for what? asking a resignation? shame on this country.

back in...March? April? the person handling bills out here in da woods where I'm living finally stopped memory holing what I, unfortunately, had also memory hole'd, which was that he needed to tally the last year's worth of bills and utilities he'd just been paying rather than calculating who owed what while we cared for a dying friend of ours all last year (and the year before, and a bit of the year before that, but it was at its most intense in that final year of their life so a lot of things kinda fell by the wayside) and so, y'know, he isn't like asking for it all at once but I've had to sorta trickle in chunks of it since he calculated, and this happened like RIGHT after I'd made a bunch of purchases for myself (well, "a bunch" for my disability income level lol, it's all relative I guess) and donated to quite a few folks in need, that I absolutely would not have done if I'd known that was coming, which hobbled me somewhat and then this year's been hectic and we come around to the celebration of life thing for our friend at the beginning of this month (July) and I can see that the two people co-planning it are getting super stressed about everything so I took food and snacks out of their hands with some help from friends of mine donating $$ to me to be able to cover that while I was struggling but then some MORE costs I didn't expect hit like right after I did that (and I helped out someone in need also right before the extra costs hit lolololol)...it's been a lot lol I've canceled nearly every monthly thing I had going aside from my cell plan, like it's dire lmao

tl;dr I am very broke, and living in a very rural area so grocery trips are sorta "whenever someone with wheels is going" (I am not a person with wheels so I can't control how busy other people are or aren't lol) and with a trip coming up near the end of the month but before my disability pay hits my bank account, what I have in my bank account would not properly restock me for the next stretch, and it would be very much appreciated if you could reblog and donate, or just reblog if you can't donate, even if all you donate is literally one dollar that could total up, with enough reblogs catching enough eyes, to the hundred or so bucks Canadian that I need hopefully in time for me to transfer it from paypal to my bank account before the grocery trip lol I only need like a hundo or so for a barebones shop that properly replenishes basics, a couple hundo would be a proper proper shop (grocery prices are wild out here lmao) and if by some miracle I could hit $300 or so I could actually have a good amount of variety in my diet between now and the next shop with what I could haul back out to the wilderness (and that is closer to what I tend to splash out on these trips, when I can afford it, which is usually always but not so much these last few months lol)
