Summary: Kamino is all you’ve ever known. It’s all you remember. You’ve been on the stormy planet your whole life, cooped up in the lab and not allowed to associate yourself with the clones. Once omega came along, you weren’t so alone. You helped raise her, becoming like her mother/ When one day, the end of the war comes and the rise of the empire arrives. At the assembly, alongside Nala se and omega, you spot a unique batch of clones omega had often talked about. One of them, the sergeant, capturing your attention.

Nala Se wasn’t too happy with the mess hall fight. She was especially disappointed in you for allowing it to happen. So of course, you were stuck with paperwork. Meanwhile omega got to go with Nala se so Nala se could keep an eye on omega while you did your work.
You let out a heavy sigh as you scribble words onto the paper, not even caring what they said as you chuck it onto the pile of finished works. You’d done paperwork many many times but it didn’t make it any easier.
Suddenly the doors to the lab opened and omega skips in.
“Meg, what’s up-“ you start.
“Come on! We got a mission! Hurry up AZI!” She grabs you hand and drags you to the door.
“Me” she grins cheekily before running off down the hall. Oh no. No no no. She’s gonna cause chaos.
You sigh and run after her, jeez she’s fast. Turning the corner, you look around and unfortunately don’t spot her.
“Where is she?” You murmur to yourself. You open up a door and surprise surprise, omega and AZI were inside looking through what seemed to be clone force 99’s barracks.
“Omega!” You hiss, stepping inside. “It’s not nice to go through people’s things. Now come on, let’s get back to the lab!”
“Hang on! We’re doing a research task!” Omega squeaks, but unfortunately AZI knocks something over, leaving a loud crash.
“Someone’s coming” omega says, “time to go.”
She grabs AZI’s arm and makes her way towards where you stand at the door. You turn around to leave when the door swooshes open and four troopers enter.
“You’re not authorised to be here” one trooper says.
“We-“ you start but omega cuts in.
“We got lost. Sorry, it won’t happen again.”
“Pack up their gear and take it to the hanger” the trooper orders the others. “You, you’re coming with me” he grabs omegas arm.
“We will not. We are official kaminoan-“ AZI starts
“Don’t touch me droid!” The trooper shouts and stuns him. Oh gosh, this couldn’t get any worse.
“AZI!” Omega cries, as the trooper grabs her again.
“Hey! Let her go. We’re kaminoan personnel and we got lost. I promise you it won’t happen again.” You panic, stopping the trooper.
The trooper looks at you before pointing his blaster. The last thing you hear before the stun bolt hit was omega yelling.
Eyes fluttering open, a groan escapes your throat as you sit up. Your head pounded, that was your first thought. Before…”omega!” You gasp, scrambling to your feet.
“Hey hey! I’m here!” Omega appears by your side. “We were put in this cell. I’m sorry, I didn’t mean for this to happen”
“Oh meg” you let out a sigh of relief and pull her into your arms. “I’m just glad you’re okay”
After another few minutes passed - you weren’t sure if it was 10 or 50 - a few troopers enter the brig Along with clone force 99. You exchange a glance with omega before looking up as they’re put in the same cell.
“Smells weird” wrecker grunts.
“Because it’s clean” echo sasses back.
“Well the plan wasn’t a total failure” tech says, pointing at you and omega.
Omega gives a small wave and you blush as being noticed. It seemed hotter, was it just you?
“Goody” Crosshair sneers.
“I warned you not to come back” omega says as Hunter crouches in front of you two. You couldn’t help but notice he was in just his blacks, and the way it defined his muscles and figure..we’re all clones built like this? Why were you sweating?
“Had to” Hunter replies, “we were looking for you two.”
“For us?” You question, finally uttering two words.
“What do you say kid- and you” he nods at you. “Want to come with us? Or did we get captured for nothing?”
“You came back for us?” Omega checks again.
“That’s right. Or you can stay on kamino if…” Hunter starts.
“No, it’s like I said before! I want to go with you.” Omega smiles as she stands.
But of course the moment had to be ruined as Crosshair sneers,
You blink, still processing and Hunter glares at Crosshair, standing up and facing him.
“Uh, hunter? How are we planning on breaking out of here?” Wrecker asks.
“I’m working on it” Hunter grits out.
Crosshair scoffs. “You know what you should work on? Explaining when you went soft.” He points at Hunter.
“Stow it, Crosshair” echo snaps.
“Don’t you see we’re locked up in here because of him? He had us disobeying orders!” Crosshair continues.
“I never thought you disobeying orders was a problem” tech says.
“Yeah, we do it all the time” wrecker adds.
“Good soldiers follow orders” crosshair snarls and you place a hand protectively on omegas shoulder. “Every choice you’ve made since kaller has been wrong. First, the padawan, then gererra. You’ve become a liability.”
“We can debate my choices later. For now, let’s focus on getting out of here”
You gulp as you glance between the brothers. You’d clearly missed something, and the squad seemed to have some drama. You were too busy thinking to realise omega had sat next to Crosshair.
“You’re angry” omega notes.
“How perceptive” Crosshair sarcastically replies.
“I know what you’re going to do, but please don’t.”
She places a hand on his shoulder, “I know it’s not your fault. You can’t help it.”
“Omega-“ you cut in, sensing Crosshair was ina bad mood.
“CT-9904, you’re coming with us.”
The ray shield drops and you step in front of omega.
“Oh no no no. We stay together.” Hunter shakes his head.
The trooper rams the butt of his blaster into hunters abdomen, making him hunch over. You and omega let out a small gasp and you move her back further behind you.
“Stand down” the trooper orders.
Crosshair steps forward and follows the troopers as they lead him out.
Once the shield reappears, you step forward and place a hesitant hand on hunters shoulder.
“I’ll be fine” he grunts.
“Let me check” you insist.
“I’m a medic. Please” you cut him off.
He nods and sits on the bench and omega sits next to him as you prod his abdomen. You notice her copying his positions and chuckle to yourself. Seems she found a new favourite.
After enough prodding, you deemed Hunter okay and tech sits up.
“I’ve got it. Why didn’t I think of it before?” He says, shoving echo aside to sit near Hunter. “This is not a prison”
“Yeah, well I beg to differ.” Echo argues. Tech just shakes his head.
“This is a kaminoan facility. It was built prior to the clone wars. There were no barracks or prisons when it was constructed.” Tech explains.
“Well how does that help us?” You cut in, curious now.
The batch exchange a shocked glance at your contribution.
“Because while these cells were retrofitted to hold normal individuals, they could not possibly account for someone like wrecker.” Tech replies.
“Oh! You mean I could punch our way out?” Wrecker booms, causing you all to shush him.
“Oh. Right. You mean I could punch our way out?” He whispers.
“If you punch the correct spot” tech corrects.
“If this is going to work, we’ll need some cover. Form a wall.” Hunter orders and you nod, standing between Hunter and omega.
Tech prods the wall for a few seconds before whispering, “hit this, here.”
“Right” wrecker nods, moving to the wall. “Tell me when.”
“Now” Hunter says, followed by a bang as wrecker hits the wall. You flinch at the sound before trying to act causal as the guards look over to eye the cell, then looking away.
“Nothing happened” wrecker whispers.
“Are you sure this is going to work?” Hunter asks tech, who replies to wrecker,
“Try it again, a little harder.”
“You’re all clear, make it count.”
“Okay” wrecker nods, pulling his fist back before swinging it at the wall with a clang!
“Oh it still didn’t work” wrecker groans.
“Oh yes it did” tech says as he pulls at the crack in the wall, the metal bending back to make a hole. “Look”
“I’ll never fit through that!”
“Astute as always wrecker, but, I was actually going to suggest…”
“I’ll do it” omega interjects, causing your eyes to widen.
“What! No, you can’t-“ you start
“You sure kid?” Hunter asks.
You bite your lip, conflicted on whether you should trust their judgement or protect omega.
Hunter gives a nod, “okay, get to the console and hit the lever to lower the ray shield.”
Omega gives a salute and crawls into the hole as tech and wrecker open it wider for her. Once inside, they bend the metal and close the hole, leaving omega to finish this herself.
Anxiety twisted in your stomach as the seconds passed without omega.
“Incoming” echo says, snapping you from your thoughts.
Wrecker sits in front of the crack as echo speaks.
“Wait, where’s the girl?” One of the troopers asks.
You gulp, here goes nothing.
“The kid” the trooper snaps.
“You tell us” Hunter shrugs.
“Harm her and you’re a dead man” echo threatens.
The other trooper speaks into his comms, “operations, we need a status report on prisoner 0219.”
You panic as a clank noise comes from the ceiling and the trooper looks around.
“Sorry” wrecker cuts in. “These floors don’t hold me so well on…account of them not being designed to hold abnormal individuals, such as myself.”
Hunter, tech and echo share a look and you hold back a squeak of panic. Great, this is going great.
“What’s behind you?” The reg questions, the others raising their blasters.
“Move away from the wall. Now.”
“Why don’t you come here and make me?” wrecker shoots back.
The troopers comm beeps and he listens in.
“Copy that. The girl’s still registered in lockdown” the trooper says to the others. “Tell us where she is.”
Out of nowhere, omega comes crashing down on top of them with the vent. You gasp, running to the ray shield in horror.
“Hit the switch omega!” Hunter directs.
“She nods and dashes for the console, pulling the lever. However, as she does, a trooper grabs her from behind.
Wrecker punches the trooper in the helmet, causing it to crack and the trooper to fall unconscious.
You hurry to omega, checking her over for injury.
“Ha! Not bad!” Wrecker grins at omega.
“We need to find where they took Crosshair.”
“Let’s move.” Hunter orders, leading you out the door.
You all slowly make your way through the halls of kamino, coming to a stop at a corner as Hunter holds his fist up.
Tech sighs, “we’re not going to get very far without our gear.”
“They started moving all your things to the hanger.” Omega recalls, “your gear must be there too.”
You nod in agreement, remembering the troopers that took you and omega talking about the hanger bay.
You all make it to the hanger and the boys start opening crates.
“All right boys, suit up. Let’s make this quick” Hunter instructs.
“Right. No. No! Where is it? Where is it? It’s got to be here somewhere.” Wrecker groans, searching through each crate.
“Tech, power up the ship and take the girls with you. The rest of us will go after Crosshair” Hunter orders.
You exchange a glance with omega before she frowns, “I don’t think we’ll have to go far.”
You glance up as the blast doors open, revealing a group of troopers. And in the middle, stood Crosshair in dark armour. No longer adorning the personalised paint and symbols. Sniper rifle in hand, he walks further into the hanger.
“Is that…” wrecker trails off slightly. “Crosshair?”
Hunter walks out to face Crosshair whilst you place a hand on omegas shoulder, slightly positioning her behind you.
“Best stand down sergeant” Crosshair warns. “Make it easy on yourself.”
“Have you lost your mind?!” Hunter exclaims.
“We should’ve killed that Jedi. You disobeyed orders” Crosshair snaps.
“I did what I thought was right” Hunter retorts.
Crosshair shakes his head.
“You never could see the bigger picture. Now surrender.”
Hunter spares a glance at the batch and omega, his gaze lingering on you before turning back to Crosshair.
“Heh, I guess it is” Crosshair scoffs.
“Well, I guess I’m disobeying that one, too.”
The two continue their glaring match, watching each other for the next move. The thunder of kamino rumbled in the distance, causing your stomach to churn. Then, Crosshair takes the first shot. Hunter ducks, barely missing it before crouching next to where you pulled omega behind a crate. The batch start shooting. A clone trooper throws a smoke bomb, restricting your vision and you squeeze omegas shoulder to make sure she’s there.
“Tech, we’ve got to move, now!” Hunter shouts into the comms the batch had.
“I’m working on it” tech replies.
“Wrecker, clear the smoke on three”
“You got it boss” wrecker nods.
“Omega, you two stay low.” Hunter nods at you and omega. “One…two…”
“Three!” Wrecker booms before moving and clearing the smoke with two crate lids. Then, throwing them and hitting a few troopers before reaching for his blaster on his back. But he was too late, a blaster shot hits him, the blaster shot coming from Crosshair.
“Wrecker!” Omega cries out as he falls to the floor with a groan. She pulls from your grip and runs to help him.
“Omega don’t!” Hunter shouts as you both pull her back behind cover, causing crosshairs shot to miss her.
“Tech we’re out of time!”
“Almost got it!” Tech reassures.
The alarms in the hanger start blaring and the bay doors start to close. You look around frantically, trying to gauge what’s happening.
Hunter turns to you both, “when I say ‘go’, you head for that ramp and you don’t stop. Got it?”
You hesitate before nodding, omega doing the same.
“Echo, we go for wrecker!” Hunter orders.
“Go!” He shouts and you grab omega, running for the ramp.
Crosshair aims his blaster, having a clear shot and you stop, grabbing a nearby blaster but before you can do anything a shot knocks the rifle out of his hands and you turn to look at omega, her seeming to have the same idea as you.
You nod at her before releasing a few warning shots at Crosshair. You drop the blaster, helping Hunter and echo carry wrecker onto the ship. Making sure you’re all on board, tech takes off and flies into the stormy sky of kamino.
You let out a sigh of relief, slumping against the wall as you catch your breath.
“Ouch! Hey! Hey, hey, hey. What’s that going to do?” Wrecker cries as echo Jabs him with a needle.
“You’ll be okay” echo replies as he rifles through the medkit. “Just hold still.”
Omega walks over, holding up a tooka plushie. “Is this what you were looking for?”
Wrecker gasps in delight, grabbing the plushie.
With the distraction, echo jabs him again causing him to yelp.
Omega giggles and you let a tiny smile take over at her sound.
“Let’s see here, hold still” tech approaches wrecker with a datapad.
“Don’t examine me, I’m not a computer” wrecker fusses.
“This will just take a second.”
“Get that thing away from me.”
You notice omega walking to the cockpit and follow, looking out the window at the view of the stars whizzing past. It was mesmerising.
“Your first time in space?” Hunter asks you both.
“First time anywhere” omega replies, not removing her eyes from the view.
“Impressive shot back there,” Hunter says, “where’d you learn to do all that?”
“I don’t know. I never fired a blaster before. I guess I just got lucky.”
“She’s not the only one” tech interjects, walking past to the pilots chair.
“I’m fine! It’ll take more than a blaster shot to take me down.” Wrecker announces.
“You were down.” Echo argues.
“Yeah, well, not for long” wrecker laughs, pulling echo into a side hug before groaning in pain.
“What’s the plan Hunter?” Tech asks.
“I thought we could go off on our own, lay low. But with Crosshair gunning for us, I’m not so sure.” Hunter explains.
You frown and go to speak but omega beats you to it.
“What about your friends? Could any of them help us?”
“That would be a short list.” Tech informs.
You frown. “Not a single one could help?”
“I can think of one. Plot a course for J-19.”
“Strap in kid, and lady, you’re not going to want to miss this view.”
They all get positioned as the ship lurches forward and a the stars blur into a beautiful blue swirl. You glance at omega, her little smile warming your heart. You pat her head, not sure what was coming next but prepared to face it, for her.
