Inported sounds into garage band and make two copies, one original and one that will be edited on.
Splice sections of the original recording into sections that I liked
Assigned tempos to each region by adjusting tempo of the whole project to meet the beat structure I wanted the track to follow, saving the track as a loop, a technique I learned by watching https://youtu.be/itLxhhZlMF8
The placement of this function has moved since the video was made but it can be found through searching in the Help tab. To be made as a loop in garage band, the loop needs to be exactly N.0 beats long, N=any number.
Started finding additional kick drums that would layer under my loops for a solid beat.
I chose, Game Over Solo Kick, Sharp Kick beat, and, Tight Kick Beat to work with.
I then made an additional beat in groove pizza which I set to the same tempo as my piece, (180) and imported that in as an audio file.
Selected a 2 beat bass slide loop to tie groove pizza beat in with into and EQed it.
I heard what sounded like a piano chord mixed in so I found some more piano that I liked and added it appropriately.
I then started breaking the beat apart
Then built up to the second section using a loop called “Choppy Blast Riser” and a recording of my own voice which I EQed and transposed -6.
Then I put the remaining tracks in the order I wanted, adding transposition effects to most toward the end.
Finished the work with the same vocal recording now transposed down -12 along with the closest thing I could find to a techno gong.
