starting with his old comic site, Team Special Olympics, first off the damn title is mocking the special Olympics, a sporting competition for people with learning disorders and other disabilities, so failed step one.
on TSO, Andrew drew comics with semi-graphic rape, abortion jokes, racism, jokes about hitting women, and racist punchlines
now, in his comic Homestuck:
multiple places in the comic say all the human characters are white, but when asked about it, Andrew changed certain lines of text and lied and said the kids were always aracial… And that viewers could imagine them as whatever they wanted, but they definitely weren’t black. Then he joked about how racist that was.
Not to mention, the damn “Caucasian” joke, which, white people aren’t even Caucasian
Used the word “r*tard” unapologetically several times in comic, not to mention the existence of the character Karkat Vantas, who does nothing but spew hate about the perceived intelligence of others.
The word “cr*pple” is used in the eugenics-like storyline of Tavros Nitram, who is a wheelchair user defined only by his disability, who gets Fixed without his consent later on and then dies at the hand of the girl who paralyzed him, and is given no respect in death with a gross attempt at revival
Uses uncredited, stolen art several times in various places as posters on character’s walls
Got mad when people asked if characters were chubby, gave some fatphobic / fat fetishizng answers
Was absolutely amazed when gay people wanted to see themselves in the story, and proclaimed on his Twitter that Dave Strider and John Egbert were not gay, was also very gross in the fetish-y way he describes Kanaya Maryam, a canon gay character
Dave Strider was abused and neglected by his guardian and Hussie literally makes jokes about the beatings Bro Strider gives Dave
Mom Lalonde and Rose’s relationship isn’t much better, with Mom Lalonde being an alcoholic who tries to win Rose over with presents of things she doesn’t want; when Mom is killed, Rose and the narrative imply it’s her fault for not being a good enough kid
Presented a storyline with the hemospectrum that mirrors classism and seriously says something about what he thinks of poor + disabled people
Forgot that trans +/ multisexual people existed apparently, and said all reproduction that can result in a child is heterosexual
Saw the opportunity to make a joke using the word “f*g” and took it
When someone asked him a gross question about if the then 13-year old trolls had boobs, he made a joke about being sent to prison for child molestation
The entire comic of Homestuck is extremely inaccessible for people with epilepsy, and while the fake-game format of the comic is fun, it often uses quickly flashing images as a gimmick
Feferi Peixes is pretty much based off the ableist eugenics-like ideal that some people of certain qualifiers / blood should have their autonomy taken away so people higher on the hemospectrum can take care of them
Terezi Pyrope is nothing but the Disability Superpower stereotype, a disabled character who has a cool ability which ~cancels out their disability~, and she’s later cured coercively
We’ve also got the character of Mituna Captor, who is a giant infantile stereotype of people with brain damage
Kankri Vantas, who’s meant to represent the non-existant nasty tumblr ~~SJW~~ and has created a serious unsafe space for fans of the comic who need triggers tagged, the character’s entire stick is mocking trigger warnings and the rightful anger of oppressed groups, and tried to call it satire
Cronus Ampora, based off a spiritual belief called Otherkin which has nearly completely defamed by obnoxious trolls claiming that all Otherkin are just attention seeking. Cronus is literally just every awful untrue troll fact rolled into one, and the existence of his character, not to mention, Horuss Zahhak, has made uneducated rude comments extremely prevalent in kin tags on tumblr
Hussie also was “ironically” racist in his creation of Damara Megido, a horny Japanese schoolgirl stereotype who speaks Google translate Japanese. She was bullied into a psychotic break and this is excused / implied to be just fine in the narrative
Her Imperious Condension (or however her name is spelled) is LITERALLY an African-American stereotype, with pitch black skin, large lips, and ~~sassy~~ text. The other ancestors have pitch black skin, supposedly because it’s stylization, but HIC greatly resembles old anti-blackness advertisements
While not technically Hussie’s doing, a joke that originated from one of the Homestuck calenders is March!Eridan, the male character Eridan Ampora dressed like a woman; many fans of the comic who are trans women have expressed their disdain at this and I figured I should include it
On that line, Hussie/What Pumpkin partnered with Hot Topic for official Homestuck merch, apparently ignoring the fact that Hot Topic constantly steals content

All media has problems in one way or another, but the amount of untouched, unchallenged bullshit in Homestuck is unbelievable. The way these awful things have created a racist and transphobic fanbase is terrifying, and unsafe for me.
