“I think that happens to all of us at one time or another. It certainly happens to my son on a regular basis.”
“Okay, so that’s what wheat grass tastes like— um, I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty sure it’s not worth being healthy, if being healthy has to taste like that.”
“It’s not so bad if you have it in a smoothie. I don’t think you’re supposed to drink it straight like that.”

Moving to a new town meant Isabelle was still finding her feet, and especially since the first few days of the school year had just begun, the weekend was her opportunity to finally explore more of town. Turning to the person next to her, Isabelle smiled brightly, “Hey, I’m sorry to bother you but – I’m new around town, and I was just wondering if you knew of anything good to do around here? Or places to eat? I’m still on that summer vibe and I don’t feel like staying at home going through paperwork.”
Dimitrie had Lucas on his hip, and the two-year-old leaned around to smile at the woman. “Beach!” he piped up. “The beach is lovely,” he agreed. “And there are plenty things to do on the pier. Dive and Sea will offer you diving lessons or equipment, and you can visit the farmer’s market. There are a few places to eat, as well -- a couple of food trucks, and the Beach Club Bar.” Lucas spoke again. “And ice cream!” Dimitrie chuckled. “The ice cream shop is there, as well.”

“Hey, you!”, she raised her voice so the person passing by could hear her. “Can you please pick up this call for me? It’s the girl from last night and I’m really not in the mood for that”, she offered the phone. “If you scream it’s a plus”
Dimitrie jumped a little as the stranger called out to him. “Why don’t you just not answer?” he asked blankly. “Isn’t that easier than asking a stranger on the street to take the call for you?”

I just finished a shift and I can’t decide whether I want to go home and watch Netflix or go out and enjoy the beautiful weather.
Southern California usually enjoys beautiful weather, but then again, it’s not as though Netflix is permeable. I would say go out and watch Netflix before you go to bed tonight. It’s a good way to relax.

Giovanni stares at the model in the eyes, trying to reassure them that they looked fantastic. “The clothes that I have just put on you are made speciffically for you. You look as beautiful as ever. Trust me, I know fashion like the back of my hand. I just need you to stand in front of the camera and sell it.” With a small smile, he touches their arm with his fingertips. “It’s going to be ok. It’s alright to be nervous, but i just need 5 minutes of you being as confident as ever. As confident as you are when you yell at me when you know that I’ve gotten your shoe size wrong.” He ads in a bit of humor to lighten up the mood.
Dimitrie normally wouldn’t be involved in this type of thing, but the girl he’d gone on a blind date with the other night was now the model in question. At dinner, she’d begged him to come and stay backstage with her before she went on, and he couldn’t find it in his heart to refuse. He looked over at the girl with a smile. “You look beautiful,” he assured her. “Really. Foarte dragut.” It was the Romanian that seemed to help the most, and she smield as she moved off.

“I’m fairly convinced that my cat thinks she’s a princes because she’s named after one,” he said with a chuckle, “She struts around the apartment, not even kidding.”
“I think all cats have that sort of attitude. Perhaps it carries over from their days of being worshiped as gods in ancient Egypt. I know my cat certainly acts like that.”

“I do not know, actually. I do know I do not enjoy crime and mystery novels. Even though some might say this is a crime and mystery novel, because of the second world war and the many questions this book has.“
“Hm, okay, I’ll stay away from those types of novels, then. I think I have enough of an idea of what you might like just from this book alone.”

Wrapping her arms around Lucas, the blonde giggled as he agreed with her conclusion of the book. “Very.” She agreed, running her fingers through her hair and she lightly bopped the younger boy. “The hobbit?” She gasped, “That sounds way more interesting than this book. Do you think I should read it?”
Lucas relaxed comfortably in Kitty’s arms, as used to adoration as any king. It was funny and endearing to see how comfortable Lucas was with anyone, and of course, a large number of his friends were pretty young women. It made Dimitrie wonder what his son was going to be like as a teenager. Lucas nodded eagerly as she spoke. “Yeah! But scary sometimes,” he said seriously. “Tati skips, I tell him...I tell him no, cause I’m not...” He shook his head definitvely. “I’m not scared.”

Whether it was okay or not, Jace couldn’t help those feelings of guilt, the fact he’d caused someone damage. But as Dimitrie said, there wasn’t much to be done. “Oh, I’m Jace…” he responded, taking the man’s hand and giving it a shake.
Dimitrie pulled the ice away from his hand to look at the skin. It was markedly less red now, though still pinker than usual and shiny. The ice had helped dull the pain considerably. “Did you just come into town?” he asked, and then nodded toward the counter. “I think your drink is ready.”

“Hey, hey. It’s all very well and charming when you speak another language, but I really don’t know what you’re saying.”
Carmen hides a smile at Lucas’s shock, watching the pair. “Don’t worry, bud. I’ll help your old man pick out the most stylish collar ever. She’ll be the coolest dog in the whole town.”
“Thank you very much.”
Lucas looks comforted, and it makes Dimitrie laugh. “What, do you not think I’m capable?” He looks over at Carmen. “My son doesn’t think I’m cool,” he laments, and Lucas pats his cheek gently to get his attention. When he looks back at him, Lucas assures him, “Very cool, Tati.”

“It amazes me that people still think that women can’t be complex or more than one thing. You’re raising Lucas right by having him love characters like Peggy Carter. It’s so great to see. That’s so adorable. Have you tried giving her a bath with him when it is time to give her one? Two birds with one stone. I’m not sure if you’ll not get wet as a result from it, but at least you’ll have two clean little ones.”
“It’s amazing to me, too. I’m hoping Lucas will know by learning from these characters and the women in his life that women in media are sometimes woefully misrepresented, and maybe he can do something about that. I can’t imagine that would work out well for my bathroom. Or myself, for that matter. But I’m sure Lucas and Peggy would both find that enormously entertaining.”

Frankie politely smiled again, checking behind him for a moment to ensure the mess was getting cleaned. “You’re right about that. I’m from Sicily, a true Italian.” He joked, allowing his hands to rest back at his sides. “And what about you?”
Dimitrie smiled slightly. “I’ve never been to Italy, but I’ve always wanted to go,” he said. “It seems like a beautiful country.” His bill was finally presented to him and he signed for it, handing over the money. “Romania,” he said. “I was born there and my family moved to the states when I was two. I’ve been there many times on trips.”
