“That would be so cool though! People traveling across the country to attend a school that you created! That you founded. That would be so amazing,” Jules replied. “You’re a cool guy, you know that?”
“Yes, it would. I already have children who travel from San Francisco two times a week to get taught by me. Having children come from the other side of the country... that is a unreal idea,“ he said. “Ah, thank you. Cool is not a word people usually use to describe me.“

“Hm, okay, I’ll stay away from those types of novels, then. I think I have enough of an idea of what you might like just from this book alone.”
“Ah, thank you. I will look forward to see what you recommend to me.“

“Of course, I’d be more than happy to help with that. Are there any genres you’re particularly interested in, apart from WWII?”
“I do not know, actually. I do know I do not enjoy crime and mystery novels. Even though some might say this is a crime and mystery novel, because of the second world war and the many questions this book has.“

“Long story short, I didn’t do so well in school and I think that had someone thought they way you do, I might have actually done well.” Jules replied, shrugging their shoulders. “That would be cool. I don’t know what the demand for something like that is, but it sounds pretty cool.”
“Oh, I am sorry to hear,“ he said. “I do not know either. I guess I will have to find out. I know children from all over the country would love to dance at my studio, so maybe if I can have a boarding school where I have a regular school and dance classes, I could realize those wishes.“

“I’m a librarian, and a writer on the side.”
“Then I should believe you when you say you can give me recommendations. Once I am finished with this book, I will look you up at the library.“

Brody stepped down as soon as he saw the other man’s face, shaking his head in shame before taking a few steps back. He’d remembered seeing him at some coffee shoppe somewhere, and of course with familiarity came respect, so that’s exactly what he wanted to show him.
“Oh, God. I am so sorry. I’m going to clean that up immediately.” He strode over to his crew member who held a bunch of napkins out for him, snatching them and moving back towards where he spilled the coffee. “Time schedules, you know? If I’d’a known this was your studio–” He quickly mopped up the mess, watching as another helped him.
“Then, what? You would not have acted the way you did? Maybe you should treat everyone the same, not give anyone a special treatment. No one should be yelled at like that. How would you feel if you got cursed at? Try to think about that the next time you act out.“

With the spring/summer fashion weeks coming up, he had no time to waste to get everything done, even if that meant putting his foot down in places it had no business being.
“We are not doing this right now. No, I do not have the fucking patience for this.” Brody began a heavy, intimidating walk towards the other person as the coffee he held was thrown to the floor. “I rented out this venue for my photo-shoot. Check with management. This is my slot.”
Viktor’s eyebrows furrowed at the man. He was in the back when one of the instructors approached him saying a man was causing a disturbance. “Excuse me, sir,“ Viktor said and raised his head. “This is my dance school. First of all, I do not appreciate that kind of language being used here. And second of all. I do not have a reservation for today. I however do have one for next week. And third of all, clean that mess up. I have dance class here in ten minutes.“

“Yes, you can. There are more than enough people who can type some names into the computer for you. Even the most dedicated people need a day off and weren’t you just saying you needed to relax more?”
“I... okay. But I will be there tomorrow morning early to check if everything is done, alright?“

“I do, as part of my job and for pleasure.”
“Ah. What is it you do?“
Jules was thoroughly impressed by the ideals of the man in front of them. It was admirable and given their scholastic history, his thought process was definitely appreciated. “You totally should. Mighta given the likes of me a fighting chance.”
“Oh yes? And why is that?“ he asked. “I myself went to a boarding school for ballet dancers. Something like that might be the future of the Academy. I am not that old, I still have a lot of time to create it.“

“Oh, well, if you want any more recommendations, I would be happy to provide them for you.”
“You read a lot then?“

“Oh, your Christmas performance is Mia’s favorite thing about December… Aside from Christmas that is.” Charlotte laughed, tucking her blonde hair behind her ear. “I’m not worried about the studio’s showcase just yet, cause we work on the numbers year round, and take all our competition and class pieces and put them onstage in July.”
“I have to admit, it is one of my favorite things as well,“ he chuckled, “Ah, of course. I guess that is different when we do not have competitions. I have two showcases a year and that is always something we work towards. Though the most important thing is of course teaching technique. And then hopefully they can show that off during the showcase. For me, the Christmas performance is also a good point to see what needs to be done and worked on the next months.“

“You’re welcome!” She smiled at him, moving to stand up. “Now, I’ll just tell everyone that you’re taking a personal day. We’ll be alright.”
“Are you sure? I still need to do some administration work and put all the new pupils into the system. I cannot just take a day off.“

“Are you sure? Because really, it’s no trouble for us. It’s trouble for you.” Sally insisted, “Well then, it’s settled. I suppose I should invest in some shoes.”
“Then see it as a thank you for the help your fathers have been to me. I now know a lot more about having a great and successful dance performance,“ he smiled. “Yes, and of course some tights or leggings. Leotards are not mandatory, so you could just wear something that is comfortable and you can move well in.“

“Wow. So on the flip side, if someone was a really bad dancer but really loved it and wanted to learn, you’d let them in? Maybe you should start running an academic school. I think you’ve got the whole system cracked,” they said, impressed by the gentleman’s thought process.
“I would, yes. Of course, if I have many people that want to learn and I still have to make a selection between those people because of the limited spots I have in my classes, I will look at how much I can teach them and then I start looking at talent,“ he explained, “Maybe that would be a next step. Start a proper academy,“ he said with a chuckle.

“Oh, good,” Lucas said absently, his attention starting to drift. Dimitrie chuckled softly. “Have you ever read Skeletons At the Feast? It sounds like it would be very similar to this.”
“I cannot say I have. I am new to this reading thing.“

“They don’t fit; meaning you don’t have time or you just don’t want anything new to happen in general? Either way I think that’s understandable, I know a lot of people hate change, because they’re comfortable with their routine and sometimes new things tend to throw it all off which I know can become incredibly stressful.”
“It is more so that I do not want new things to happy. I like the way things are now. I do the same things every day and I am still not getting bored of it. I spend most my time at the Academy, teaching people how to dance or watching other dance classes to learn more. I like the way my life is. I do not need new things.“
