in one way or another, everyone’s job sucked, whether they had to clean after nasty teens that left their empty chip bags on the street or they had to sell drugs (there, yixing had his doubts). someone that sold drugs or did something so dangerous wouldn’t be as stupid as to confess it, to out themselves to someone. lips smack in indignation in that moment, he gives the other male a look of disbelief and disappointment -- drugs, really? they, for yixing, were like a suicide note.

“i cannot believe such. i would need proof of that.” he smiles at baekhyun, what else could he do? he found the situation amusing, entertaining, it wasn’t everyday someone made a joke like that. “i could turn you in to the police, and they would bother you. be more careful with who you fool, maybe someone is going to actually make you get into big, big trouble. have you not thought about that?”

“they’ll always be in your heart, then.” loss was a part of life, a cruel part of it, yixing had to admit. it was hard for him to recall a time he had actually lost someone very important to him.. did animals count? mentally, he went over all the pets that died for one reason or another, even the lamb that shared a bed with him. oh, and the baby chicks – yixing had cried once his mom cooked chicken years ago and he realized he was eating his best friends.

the memories make him sad, he swore to himself not to get close to animals like before, but getting close to humans looked like a much worse, what if they died? what if they left? yixing felt stuck for a moment, maybe being left by a human was better than eating your chick best friend. “we all lose people just like we lose our favourite pair of underwear, mina.. trust me, i’ve lost mine plenty of times! or socks, mh – dwelling over people is fine, in the end we must get over loss and continue with living our lives. meeting other people is healthy and it helps with that, so i’ve heard.”

more often than not, his humble opinion would be swallowed down, a bitter taste on his tongue and lips -- not being able to speak up frustrated him. the fear of offending people played a big part on his quietness, yixing preferred being the friend that nodded and smiled, never speaking more than necessary, and never wording out his point of view. 

his friend’s words worry him, thick eyebrows furrowing at the top of his face. “define normal and not normal. i don’t think, i don’t believe, that everyone is different. don’t we strive for equalty? we may look different on the outside, but the inside is the same. same lungs, beating heart, our atoms are all connected. normal people aren’t normal in others’ eyes, and viceversa. people aren’t meant to be scary either. do i look scary to you? i may have forgotten to discard my halloween costume then.”

fairy tales were a big part of anyone’s childhood, some survived their teenager years with them too. destiny had always been a silly concept to him, it looked and felt surreal to meet someone because a bigger creature, someone --something-- more powerful than humans decided so.

eunha, in yixing’s eyes, was a mature woman, much younger than him nevertheless, though mature enough to be able to hold such conversations. meeting people with busy minds was a blessing for the young singer. a playful smile on his lips, he replies to the female, nodding in thought. “i used to too when i was a bit younger, maybe ten? but now i think that things happen because they just do. you can prevent them, or make them happen, thing is... this is something humans aren’t aware of, right? i could get involved in a car accident in ten minutes, for example, and i wouldn’t know.... but there are ways to prevent that too. i sound too vague, maybe senseless, don’t i?”
