when you remember what happened to the word "woke" you'll never stop being mad. woke originally meant to "stay alert" during antiblack racial injustices that black individuals face and now it got turned into meme shit and it's genuinely infuriating when antiblack systemic oppression is still ongoing across the world.
seeing nonblack leftists use the word ironically without at least knowing the origin of it is blood boiling. I'm tired of black phrases and slang being turned into "memes" it's turning black culture and awareness into a joke.
Uhm. Anyway
i feel like a lot of fandoms pride themselves on being gayer than the source material but have they considered being less racist and less misogynistic than the source material as well . could be revolutionary
peeta you are so butch to me

I wish white trans queers here and everywhere would understand that different racialized people will express their gender in many different ways that inherently ties to their queerness and race. and this is going to be about black queers specifically, I'm so fucking tired of y'all using your discomfort that is inherently tied to your whiteness as an excuse to show genuine disgust and erasure of black queers and black queer history.
you cannot say "you owe your rights to black trans women" while not only excluding black trans people especially transfems from your spaces but also actively shit on ballroom culture and black trans sex workers. it's so hypocritical whitewashing bullshit. you cannot do this while passing around images of Marsha p Johnson who openly was a sex worker, participated in ballroom/street queen, and included black transfems around her.
I'm tired of people using the aesthetics of black queers like me only to treat us as disposable, especially for my black trans sisters who get it the worse.
look, this isn't me antagonizing y'all, but rather a vent of frustration how so many of y'all think you have a deep understanding of gender and how subversive it can be until you conceptualize different people of different races especially black people, existing like you but differently, and messerier, and more nuanced. that's when the performative front crumbles.
treat black queers better and understand our history and complexities of it, because it's so disappointing being subjected to your white biased and even racist opinions.
I'll make a separate post but big happy Juneteenth!!! us black folks are far from freedom as we are still systemically oppressed, but today we celebrate the day where we get a step closer to liberation.
big hearts for black folks out there, especially black trans people who carry the American LGBT movement on their backs yet don't receive much flowers. ily
and once again I'm shamelessly pugging my kofi because I am also black and struggle with my disability and financial issues. also cuz i upload and draw consistently for free, so anything helps to support a black disabled trans man.
(and to those that helped out financially, thank youuu!!! it helps me and my sisters and pets sm)
if you don't do anything else today,
Please have a moment of silence for the people who were killed instead of freed when news of emancipation finally reached the furthest corners of the american south.
have another moment for the ledgers, catalogs, and records that were burned and the homes that were destroyed to hide the presence of very much alive and still enslaved people on dozens of plantations and homesteads across the south for decades after emancipation.
and have a third moment for those who were hunted and killed while fleeing the south to find safety across the border, overseas, in the north and to the west.
black people. light a candle, write a note to those who have passed telling them what you have achieved in spite of the racist and intolerant conditions of this world, feel the warmth of the flame under your hand, say a prayer of rememberance if you are religious, place the note under the candle, and then blow it out.
if you have children, sit them down and tell them anything you know about the life of oldest black person you've ever met. it doesn't have to be your own family. tell them what you know about what life was like for us in the days, years, decades after emancipation. if you don't know much, look it up and learn about it together.
This is Juneteenth.
white people CAN interact with this post. share it, spread it.
last thing, it's really telling other websites have more Juneteenth stuff upfront but it's barren on Tumblr, not even trending.
whitest website known to man, it's why I create black centered art as a black creator on here because it's ridiculous how this site tries to be mega queer woke epic edgy anarchist commie heaven but absolutely refuse to acknowledge the existence of black people or dismantle their own internalized antiblackness.
I still love being black tho, nothing can take that away.
