MG 1/100 MSZ-006 Zeta Gundam 2.0

My first build of the year is done - MG Zeta Gundam 2.0! Having built both this and the Ver Ka, I think I like the 2.0 more. I prefer the look just a little bit more, and it even comes with the Hyper Mega Launcher! This kit was a joy to build and paint from start to finish. It still feels and looks good, so I'd recommend it even if you've already built the Ver Ka since it's a different take on this classic design.

GUNPLA 2024

Here's everything I built this year, from September to December. It took me a while, but I'm glad to finally be getting back into it. I was in a much better place this year, both mentally and physically, which really improved my motivation to get some builds done. I've already started on my first build of 2025, and I've got a big multi-kit project lined up for the year, too.

MG 1/100 WD-M01 / SYSTEM-∀99 ∀ Gundam

Here's a kit that I've wanted to paint for a long time now, and I'm happy to have finally been able to. ∀ Gundam is one of my favorite designs in the franchise, and this MG kit is fantastic, even for a kit that's almost 20 years old at this point!

As you may or may not know, this kit comes with clear yellow eyes with a shiny silver sticker that goes behind them to make them shine in light. However, in the anime, this Gundam's eyes are actually depicted as more orange/red, so I wanted to recolor them. I painted clear red over the eyes since I wanted to retain the shine from the silver sticker, and I think the effect turned out really well! The eyes are definitely my favorite part of this build.

1/100 GN-004 Gundam Nadleeh / GN-005 Gundam Virtue

This is the old no-grade 1/100 Nadleeh/Virtue kit, and honestly, it still holds up today. This was a really enjoyable build from start to finish.

HGCC 1/144 SYSTEM-∀99 / WD-M01 ∀Gundam (called "Turn A Gundam")

I built it again! Last time, I painted it in a metallic candy coat, and this time, I painted it in the exact opposite style! Turn A is one of my favorite designs, so I'm happy to build another one.

I feel like my previous version embodies "SYSTEM-∀99" built by the humans from before the Dark History, while my new one is more representative of "WD-M01" that was uncovered thousands of years later.

MG RX-93 νGundam (Version 1.0)

I built the original version because I don't like the opening Psychoframe gimmick on the Ver Ka. It's not the Unicorn, it's the Nu! It only has Psychoframe around the cockpit! I also prefer the proportions and design on the older version.

As usual, I painted this one by hand, but I used a different method. I was also able to hand paint the primer and matte top coat, so now I'm finally free 100% from aerosolized paints and should be able to paint more models going forward.

In Super Mario Sunshine, it is possible for many NPCs that are not usually supposed to sink into goop to actually be made to sink into goop during regular gameplay. Whenever Mario passes through goop, he leaves a small trail of it after himself. The trail can be accumulated as passing through it lets Mario extend it by a few more steps, allowing Mario to (very slowly) take the goop nearly anywhere on the map by doing it repeatedly.

As such, NPCs normally standing outside of goop can be made to sink into it by having Mario bring the goop to them. They all have animations for sinking into goop, even if those would not normally be seen.

However, despite having an animation for sinking into goop, as seen above, Toadsworth is actually coded to be completely immune to goop. Unlike the majority of NPCs, no matter how much goop is around Toadsworth, he will never sink into it, making the above animation entirely unused.

CCA Amuro, who has made it clear he’s Going To Fucking Kill Him if he sees Char: *Sees Char and tries to Fucking Kill Him* “I’m Going To Fucking Kill You.”

Char: “mm”.

I LOVE Amuro and Char, man, Char really out here leaking the Psychoframe on purpose so they use it on the Nu Gundam so he and Amuro can have a final climatic dramatic romantic showdown, but Amuro doesn’t indulge any of this theater kid shit and just fucking goes for the jugular immediately.

And Amuro isn’t like a frothing-at-the-mouth kinda guy either, he’s a chill dude, and when he sees Char, he’s like “Oh ok, hey kids, change of plan, give me a bit”, frowns juuuust a little and starts fucking mauling him.
