Having a regressor with fatigue.

Making sure their bed is comfortable and clean because thats where they are most of the day. Giving them food thats easy to eat. Keeping them hydrated by leaving water close enough to reach. Dressing them in pajamas or onesies instead of regular clothes. Brushing their teeth, washing their face and combing their hair for them. Watching shows and movies that don't require any thinking. Picking their plushies off the floor for them and returning them to bed. Putting them in pull ups or diapers if getting to the bathroom takes too long.

Nature Scavenger Hunt!!

Genuinely so happy with how this came out! Someone asked me a while ago what activities they should do this summer and it reminded me of those nature themed scavenger hunts- it's a great way to have fun outside! I also love how the background came out so blank versions are under the cut! None of the images are mine, I simply cut and glued them together

Soft mama x baby who struggles with derealization

Mama who always has sensory toys in their bag to help ground their baby. Crinkly toys, spin gadgets or pain fidgets to help ground them via their hands or fingers.

Mama who always talks them through it and pulls them aside if the episode happens in public places. Quiet spaces work best to bring their baby back

Mama who talks to them in a firm voice to get them out of it, but no anger and no fear. Cause fear makes situations worse.

Mama who holds their hands tight and bear hugs them to reassure them that they are here and not in that dream state. Mama holds them and pats them to make sure they're able to notice that they're body is here, as well as their mind.

Mama who breathes with their baby and doesn't rush them so they know that they're safe and ok to go through it, even If it is scary.

Mama who has snacks to bring them back like sour candies or spicy foods.

Mama who coos and tells them that it's alright and gives them stuffies or comfort items after it passes.

Mama who doesn't discourage them from holding onto their items or them after. These episodes are super scary and babies need their mamas and/or stuffies.

Remember kiddos, derealization may be super scary, (I suffer from it so I totally understand how you guys feel!) But with the right items, words and coping mechanisms, it WILL pass! Even if it comes again n again. It will always pass. You are so much stronger than those icky episodes and feelings. And your mamas, papas and bubbas are always there to comfort you all. You are NOT a burden. And you give so much love to your caregivers, and they love you just as much!

Happy Disability Pride Month! Many people have negative feelings about their disabilities and their impacts, but this month isn't about feeling superior to others or enjoying being disabled. It's about unlearning shame and appreciating the unrecognized impacts disabled people have made on the world. Lots of people are okay with disabled people just existing, but hate the idea that we should have self-respect or, God forbid, self-confidence. And disabled people are often putting their lives on the line for a better future in a way that most able-bodied people will never understand. In a world where it's so easy to kill us and make it look like an accident or a sad inevitability, any and all pushback to those who have power over us is a profound act of bravery. That is absolutely something to be proud of.

Hi, lovely! I love dinosaurs too! Aren't they just so cool. 🥹 It's so hard to choose a favourite so I'll have to say a few. I love the quetzalcoatlus, velociraptor and basically all of the sauropods!
