Welcome to Dipper's Guide to the Unsolved, where my most recent project has been looking into the mysterious circumstances surrounding the murder of who would be our Great Uncles, if they were still alive today.

So, I traveled to Gravity Falls, the location of the crime, with my twin sister Mabel, and we intend to solve the case, and, if possible, find justice.

Hi! Mabel here. We just got here and some crazy stuff has already happened. Dipper's the brains of the operation, I'm just here for the ride! And to give him a ride (he's 19 and can't drive).

Keep an eye on the news in case we go missing! ...but seriously, that's a pretty big possibility.

This is for my AU which has the same name as the blog title- you can find more about it by searching my blog (or general I guess) for #dipper's guide to the unsolved or #bill isn't real au.

The timeline for this blog will line up with where the fic is- so if you haven't caught up there may be spoilers (putting that for future reference- there's only one chapter out rn).

Feel free to interact however you want! Whether sending asks as if to a tumblr blog or roleplaying a more in-person interaction, I'll try to adapt to whatever style you want, since I'm still getting the hang of things. And I can't wait for these goobers to see other universes, so canon/au gravity falls rp accounts are far more than welcome and appreciated.

I found out by looking at old unsolved cases and spotting our last name, but, you do know that even if I didn't, we do have a grandfather, right? That's how I confirmed that they were actually related to us and not just a coincidence. He never mentioned them before, but I guess he wasn't that close with them.

We haven't been here for long, but yep, that's definitely something we plan on doing! Though I'm not sure how much information they can provide about people who died thirty-seven years ago? And bodies linked to the missing people are rarely identified.

...is that possible? I used to be really into this kind of thing, there are a LOT of theories and possibilities. I kind of grew to think that even if the multiverse was real, there'd be no way to access it.

That aside, it seems your dimension hasn't invented dimensional travel yet, certainly makes sense if my genius mind is no longer in the mortal realm there, but I can call in a few favors. Expect a large rip in the fabric of your dimension to form nearby soon! And don't step into it or you may be trapped in the multiverse for thirty years. Or look directly at it or it may blind you. Have you learned anything else? When did the deaths occur? And have any bodies of people who have disappeared been recovered? I'm quite the theorist.

It happened in 1982, and none of the missing people's bodies were recovered, at least not that we know of. There could have been unidentified bodies that belonged to them, but even if there was, it doesn't change the fact that people did and still are going missing basically left and right.

Detectives assumed that your— well, our version of you, anyway— presumed homicide was unrelated to the missing person's cases, since it was very different than what they were used to, and there was no attempt to cover up the crime.

Dipper's been looking into this for a while now. If anyone can solve it, it's him!

From the lake, like- leaving the lake, you'd make a right and head down that road until you see it branch off, turn down that and keep driving until you see a cabin. Unless you've been to the cabin. West of that, there should be a statue of him. In fact, I can guarantee that there is. If there isn't, feel free to call me insane.

Usually similar naming conventions make for similar dimensions, but 66'\ is uninhabited by any intelligent species and made of cheese. Good cheese, I'll admit, but still cheese which doesn't make for an incredibly useful dimension.

That aside, it seems your dimension hasn't invented dimensional travel yet, certainly makes sense if my genius mind is no longer in the mortal realm there, but I can call in a few favors. It happened in 1982, and none of the missing people's bodies were recovered, at least not that we know of. There could have been unidentified bodies that belonged to them, but even if there was, it doesn't change the fact that people did and still are going missing basically left and right.

Detectives assumed that your— well, our version of you, anyway— presumed homicide was unrelated to the missing person's cases, since it was very different than what they were used to, and there was no attempt to cover up the crime.

Dipper's been looking into this for a while now. If anyone can solve it, it's him!
