Anya was trying her best to hold back a smile at the others words, but it was proving to be quite difficult, “Well I have to say it’s nice to have people on my side, wanting to help me fight my fight. But if you help me, then I’ll help you if your bad guy shows up too. I mean, that’s what friends are for, right?” Anya leaned on her hand across the table as she listened to the other speak, enthralled with what he was saying as he spoke about his life, “A twin sister? I can imagine that being the best thing in the world or the worst depending on the day and your mood. But this Gravity Falls place sounds interesting, I love a good mystery after all.”

Dipper felt like a weight had been taken off of his shoulders when she deemed them friends. Not only did this girl give him little glimpses of Mabel, but she just seemed like a genuinely nice person he would’ve gotten along with in any circumstance. Wintervale would get boring fast -- but with some friends it wouldn’t be so bad. “Yeah, that’s what friends are for,” he grinned, appreciating she’d do the same for him. “Oh for sure. I love Mabel to death and would die for her, but sometimes I just wish I could sew her mouth shut and glue her in place. She moves around and talks... a lot. It’s great but not when you’re trying to get to sleep,” Dipper chuckled, realizing just how much he missed his sister. They were each other’s best friends. Being here without her was not easy since the two were almost never separated. “It is. It’s not the safest place to be, but it’s certainly always keeping us all on our toes. If I can I’ll bring you around and I can show you the Mystery Shack and around the town. Perhaps you’ll uncover a mystery Mabel and I haven’t yet.”

“I imagine you’re right, mate. Either that or it’s a much smaller plan that only involves a few people and we just happened to be dragged into it. That’s happened too.”

“A curse of this size can’t have any sort of accidents. There’s no way,” Dipper analyzed, trying to get himself in the mindset of whoever the caster of the curse was. “There has to be a reason they brought all these people together. And are continuing to bring them in as I’ve noticed. I just... can’t put my finger on it. I’m going to have to do a whole lot of researching, that’s for sure.”

Kenna giggled, “What are you going all red for? I only called you handsome.”

Dipper was not about to admit to her that he was destined to be friendzoned forever and that most girls called him sweet or friendly. Never handsome. He was considered the dorky friend, not a handsome young man. “Oh nothing. The heat around here makes me turn red every now and again -- it’s horrible. At least I don’t break out in hives or anything. That would be way worse.”

“He doesn’t sound like the best guy, I’m hoping mine doesn’t turn up either. He’s dead but that doesn’t seem to stop people, he wants to get rid of the Romanov bloodline all together and I’m the last one left.” Because she guessed most people had a villain, probably made a good story and she was coming to find that most of their lives were stories in someone else’s lives. “Alright, then tell me your story mystery man, where are you from? What did you do? Who are you?”

“Oh no,” Dipper replied at her words. “That’s not good.” Someone out to kill off everybody in her family and she was the last one left? That sounded absolutely dreadful. “If he ever shows up at least you’re not alone. You’ve got new friends here and we’re going to stick up for you,” he promised. Dipper wouldn’t leave someone to fend for themselves if he could do something about it. “Well my name’s Dipper and my twin sister and I originally come from Piedmont, California. My life only really started getting weird when we went to visit our Great Uncle in this place called Gravity Falls. We started figuring out that... the town wasn’t what we thought it was. A lot of secrets were being hidden and my sister and I sort of set off on uncovering mysteries.”

“It doesn’t really benefit them so perhaps it was an accident. The more important question is why did they bring us all here at all? We’re all from different worlds so why bring us all together? What’s the point?”

“I’m still trying to figure that out,” he admitted with a soft shrug. It didn’t make any sense, but there had to be a reason to this madness. If there wasn’t, why would someone put so much effort into making this happen? “Whatever’s going on -- it has to all be a part of some bigger plan.”

“Well lead the way then, handsome,” Kenna replied, gesturing with a smile.

“Oh um, sure,” he replied, turning a bright scarlet color all of a sudden. Her compliment had been completely unexpected. “It’s not too far from here.”

“I do, over time it get’s easier to deal with. You settle into the home they gave you and a job, the town is pretty nice actually. Much nicer than the one I came from and most the people are nice. Just watch out for the one’s who were villains before coming here.” Because she had stumbled across a couple of them and they seemed to be nasty work. “I’ve got a few, but I mostly keep myself company- not that I mind too much because it’s the way it’s always been, but it is exciting when new people arrive. I love hearing people’s stories.”

“I will definitely keep an eye out for them. I’ll be honest I’m nervous to run into my villain. He’s got like interdimensional powers and has a terrible attitude. I’m sure you wouldn’t like him either,” Dipper replied, definitely not excited to run into Bill any time soon. “Same here. I love hearing people’s stories. Even if we don’t end up friends or anything I just get so curious and fascinated. I didn’t know half these words existed before.”

“Not a clue, mate. Most of the time it’s some evil witch or wizard looking for revenge. They may still have magic in this world but their enemies would not. This is a land without magic after all,” Killian furrowed his brow a little, “But normally everyone else wouldn’t have their memories either. Lives and identities would be created for them but this only partially worked it’d appear. Which means the caster isn’t as powerful as I’ve seen before or it’s a different curse entirely.”

“That’s fascinating,” Dipper remarked. He loved hearing about curses and spells and mysteries. It was just instilled in him since forever. He was a curious young man. “Hmm, it’s definitely bizarre. If it’s a choice, why bring us here and leave all our memories of our past in tact? How does that benefit them?”

“Oh yes please. I haven’t had the chance to get there yet. Is it as beautiful as I’ve heard?” Kenna asked, suddenly excited for a break.

“It’s absolutely beautiful!” Dipper remarked. “It’s my favorite place here I think. I’ve always loved nature more than the big city I guess.”
