Can you share some of the heartbreaking things on your Spellwood lists? 🙈💕

I know this took me forever to answer, I’m really sorry, and thank you for being patient with me!

I’d be happy to share - here’s a few that I’ve already discussed with close pals (so if you recognize any, then ayyyy). But, as always, quick disclaimer - these mainly just exist in my head and aren’t explicitly confirmed in canon. And no, none of them are things I endorse for real life relationships as most of them are unhealthy as hell. It’s just some shit I think about sometimes. Okay? Okay. Cool. Here we go!

1. The photo of Zelda that Hilda finds in the music box and smashes in order to break the enchantment - from where (or whom) did Faustus get it? Was it given to him or did he find a photo and frame it himself? How long had he had it? It was a black and white photo, so like... a while? Or was that just for ~*aesthetics*~? In any case... WHY did he have it? Like yeah, she’s his wife at that point, but even still - it’s a peculiarly sentimental item to have if you have no emotional investment in your marriage, imo, ya know? Which makes what happened and the choices he made all the more sad and painful. 😅

2. I made a post about this the other day, but during Zelda’s tarot reading in 02x04, it’s revealed she regrets having hid Leticia from Faustus. And not because of any potential wrath she’d face (“it may enrage him” seems like a complete afterthought to me in that scene), but because she thinks they could be a functioning family together and, deep down, I think she realizes she wants that.

3. It’s way too long to get into here, but just know I once relayed an in-depth analysis to @mademoiselledevolanges of the reasons why Zelda and Faustus both have dogs as their familiars (Anubis was not technically a familiar, but roll with it) and why the particular breeds they picked are SO PAINFULLY ACCURATE, IT HURTSSSS. Look up the traits of beagles and rottweilers and tell me you see it, too.

There’s more, but some of them are for fics, so I’m keeping those to myself for now, but there you go. Sad shit voila.
