Hello snallygasters are my state cryptid and I love what you’ve done with them

I been really wanting to flesh out/understand Snallygaster Anatomy with the hopes of figuring out some unique colours, but didn't get a chance to render due to a bad CTS flair up. ;C Poor guy needs more feathers.

Some light enviroment studies on procreate (with some minor post editing on Clipstudio paint) as a means to try and break out of my burnout/skill regression, the recovery process has been a slog. I hate that I go through this so many times in a year. I'm still learning out how to plan/cope, when they last for weeks often months. So I hope anyone passing by stops to appreciate my efforts.

My tablet pen is pulling the greatest houdini act of all time. It was literally in my hand then suddenly poof, and I have no idea where it went. I searched everywhere, I'm so confused. An of course right when I have the urge to actually try and draw again.

trying to get over my art block, but it's been such a strain to enjoy drawing as of late. decided to indulge myself with cryptids.

some orginal character concepts mostly, when it comes to human character design I have noo idea what I'm doing. I have all these ideas in my head, and I just try and capture the vibe. I genuinly only really started to take drawing humans seriously in 2018 human anatomy is haard, I always found creatures and monsters easier. but I love vampires, mytholgy and folklore to much not to at least try. An most of these character have had lore of years.

Cryptid Requests/suggestions from my sister - that ended up disscussing the idea of one of her ocs being from an inflentual family that would give her access to such cryptids, let alone custom genetic modifications.

Genetically commissioned cryptids is a wild thought, but fits well to the narrative. The Institute has taken privatized funding for favors, regardless damages or consequences if the end justifies their means. I had a fun discussion with my sister, regarding one of her OC's. That She'd likely be from blue blood family that would likely have access and to resources regular uncanny humans do not. Thus giving her ridiculous privlages, because her parents have the means to flaunt their title and wealth, to buy special favours corrput orgnization, that are empowered to do anything aslong as they have the resources to do so. An of course she's their sweet, genuinly kind despite being spoiled princess. The sort of person whose family name gives her a bad wrap, but she's an emapth who loves and cares, but makes her an easy target for other to take advantage of. Her parents know this, could be why they are content have a Snallygaster imrpint on her. Or care that her best friend iis just a chill Monongy. Does the head of the science department approve, no - but the extra funds will help back other projects, and give them accesss to even greater resources, to help their main projects.

(partially canon , most of it was just my sister and I musing over one of her old characters cause we missed her.- there are details about the Institute I need to sort out first. Aswell as properly establishing the history of Snallygaster, conservation, domestication, argriculture intergration and husbandry. )

Ratite Snallygasters - these were random examples I did some time ago, from some bird prompts. first one was done in procreate, the other in clip.

The Dismal Snallygaster - First Concept, one of the largest flight capable snallies. It's rarely seen too far from the Great Dismal Swamp. It has everything it needs.

The Beckley Snallygaster (Possibly Formerly- due to lore changes) - This was the first actualized species of the Snallygaster after some design iterations, when I finally started to lock in Snally Charactericts that I liked.

Thing's I'd like to add/figure out, are horn variation, and sexual dimorphism.

Their Designed for speed and mauvrability on rocky terrain. Originally I had no idea where I was going with their tongues, before eventually leanred about the hyoid spike, common in reptiles including birds, which was perfect.

Additional Monongy- Monongi? Monongus? I can't descide the range of colours or patterns. Probably dependant on their Habitat's Maybe they have sexual dimorphismn too, perhas changing pigmints during mating cycles.

I been design my interpretations of cryptids to add to my supernatrual, sci-fi, fantasy project, based on a fictional earth. This project has been my primary hyperfixation for around 4 years possible a little longer than that. I been slowly trying to share bit by bit, mostly just the concepts, the ideas, while I work towards something more actualized (hopefully a webcomic) The biggest thing thats holding me back, is burnout, imposter syndrome, and the insane standard I had set for myself. So! 2025 has been the year I been trying to change my mindset. I just wanna share my world the best I can. I think it's got plenty of elements people would love. Cause who doesn't love, vampires, crytids- fae an anything supernatrual and weird.
