While Sebastian knew better than to approach the night with high expectations, events such as these were little more than a show, the need to maintain the appearance of Hollywood royalty. Regardless, it was quite tedious and tiring. But things appeared to be looking up as he set his empty glass aside. His muscles relaxed, allowing him toeasily drop down onto the chair and slump down ever so slightly. His eyesdanced around the room, taking in the crowd. Funny, he thought to himself, how people became a little more tolerable after a couple of drinks.. Thinking of drinks…Sebastian’shand raised, waving down a waiter as they maneuvered through the crowd. He knewhe was on a slippery slope. He was mere drinks away from making a complete andutter fool of himself but as of that moment, image be damned. It had been a long week and if he had to be there then he wasgoing to enjoy himself. After a quick nod of acknowledgement to the waiter, heplucked a drink from the tray and took another glance around him. The strangersaround him smiled politely but there was a hint of confusing lingering in thegaze of the pair across from him and it was in that moment that the reality ofthe moment struck him. He was sitting at the wrong table. He smiled, as it wasthe only thing he could think to do, “Don’t mind me, I’m simply here to chatwith my friend,” he informed the couple, before speaking to the person besidehim, hoping that they, at the very least, would be a kind stranger willing toaid him in his brief moment of embarrassment, “isn’t that right?”
The fundraiser had been going swimmingly so far. Blaine always did enjoy social events, and this was an important cause, one he and his family held dear, so he’d done all he could to throw himself into it and contribute as much as possible. He’d spent his time mingling with new people and encouraging them to bid. A familiar voice caught his attention, pulling him out of his conversation, eyes flickering towards the sound. Ah. Sebastian. Clearly at least a little drunk. Not good. It looked like he could use some help, and Blaine wasn’t about to let his friend struggle alone. “Would you excuse me for a moment?” He left the person no opportunity to answer before he walked over towards the man in question. “Hey, Seb?” He gently placed his hand on his shoulder, shooting the couple and the third stranger an awkward smile. “There’s something I’d like to discuss with you in private, if I may?”
