Royd Headcanons || Sfw

Some Royd headcanons because I don't see enough of him and I crave more content of him now that Dispatch is over

I can see him having a lot of family back on the islands! Tons of cousins he considers to be his brothers and sisters, raised by his aunt so he defaulted to just calling his cousins his siblings.

When he ended up joining the SDN program, I can see that the higher ups in the program saw potential in Royds abilities as an engineer so they helped fund his education for college to pursue it so he could be qualified for a future position as an official engineer on the SDN team.

He first moved from the islands to the mainlands when he was 22. After meeting the previous Mechaman after trying to steal from radio shack, he went to jail but was given the opportunity to start fresh over at the SDN program.

Has been working for the SDN program ever since!

He started off as a dispatchee, the previous lead engineer saw how well he worked with technology in general so they talked to Royd about furthering his education with the SDN program funding his schooling if it meant he'd join them in the engineering department of the program after he graduated. To that, Royd agreed!

He worked on his engineering degree so he could be qualified to work as one of their engineers full time while also being a dispatchee. Royd graduated at the age of 26, joined the team as a engineer and became the programs lead engineer by the time he hit 30.

His family from Samoa flew out to see him graduate and celebrated big time!

Royd still has a photo hung up in the office part of his lab of the party, with him being surrounded by coworker, friends and family all smiling!

The tattoo on his arm symbolizes protection and strength in Samoa with its design.

A fairly good cook, doesn't cook all the time due to how busy he can get but meal preps in advance. Makes some great food for when your sick!

Is such an empathetic person, he truly does try to see the best in people especially those in the Phoenix program because he was in their exact same shoes when he first started out.

He does have super strength, I know the devs scrapped the idea of him having powers but it'd make sense that one of the prerequisites to join the program is to have powers so! Royd has super strength.

He kinda is self concious abt that fact, yeah he's a big guy that's pretty strong but he doesn't like the idea that people view him as the stereotypical "meat head". He's very intelligent and Royd would like to be known for that rather than based on what he looks like.
