The moment Caduceus realizes reader is in love with him? (Which is “So Nice” bc he likes them to)
Caduceus was a man familiar with love. He knew the care of his mother, the pride of his father, his aunt's protectiveness. He knew the begrudging admiration of some siblings and the adoration of others. He also knew the fellowship of friends and the radiant warmth of the Wildmother, whose presence was never far.
Caduceus was not, however, a man familiar with romance. Until recently he had lived a rather secluded life, rarely venturing far from the sanctuary of the Blooming Grove, his little interest in the outside world often earning him the teasing of his siblings. So when he met you, he wasn't entirely sure what to make of the butterflies in his stomach. At first he thought he was just excited to get to know an interesting new friend, just like any of the other members of the Nein. After much introspection and meditation, he realized there was something more. He realized he was falling in love.
He loved your gentle nature and the compassion you showed to all creatures. He loved the shape of your hair and the sparkle in your eyes when you laughed. He loved you in a new and strange way he had never felt before. And he had no idea what to make of it. So, he did what he always did, and trusted in the Wildmother to show him the way, and allow whatever was meant to happen to unfold in its own time.
Over the months, the butterflies never faded. The more time you spent together in quiet nights of contemplation over tea, the more his love grew, and as much as he learned about you he never could seem to get a read on you like he could with most people, too lost in your smile to pay enough attention.
One evening you sat together near a noisy brook on the edge of a forest, enjoying each other's company in the last fading reds and oranges of the sky. In the peace of the moment, Caduceus was caught off guard when he felt you gently take his hand. When he turned to look at you, he was hit with a sudden realization as everything clicked. You mirrored his body language in almost every way- quick breaths, rosy cheeks, and a nervous smile as you glanced up at him. Caduceus could almost feel Melora give him a gentle push, and he was suddenly both relieved and overjoyed to discover that you seemed to reciprocate his own deep feelings for you. He returned your smile, and was at a loss for words.
"Y/n, this is... this is nice."
You stayed that way for a while, leaning on each other as you watched the rest of the sun finally dip below the horizon, happy and content and ready to face whatever adventures tomorrow had in store- together.
