“I can’t believe I missed Halloween.”
Health Hazard | Lyra & Sapphire
Sapphire felt another hysterical giggle rise in her throat. This was not happening, this was not happening– she settled for simply staring blankly, trying to not start screaming. Lyra Williams of all the people to run into, what was she even doing here herself?
Her mind scrabbled to keep up with what Lyra was saying, but felt an angry sneer grace her face. “Yes, I am dead. Was that my choice? Hell no. I don’t want to be here, anymore than I guess you do!” She scrabbled back to get up, gripping herself against Toro.
She looked down towards the Umbreon nudging against her trainer, and realized the other girl might have busted her ankle. “Hey, how’s you’re ankle?”
“Trust me, if I wasn’t trying to find some sign that my dad can be-” Lyra caught herself. She hadn’t meant to say that. Of course, it wasn’t like she had much too lose at this point. “... I’m only here as long as it takes to convince my father to leave.”
There was no mention of tearing the team apart as they left, but it was better to not mention that. Ever. One never knew exactly who was their ally in this sort of situation and she didn’t want to get caught this early on. It was best to wait until people accepted her as part of the team.
Her gaze turned towards her leg and remembered that her ankle fucking hurt. “Uh... painful?”
Belly of the Beast | Lyra & Ellie
“Yeah, some of the people here are pretty cool. But I guess it isn’t called Team Rocket because its the friendliest place on earth. I’m sure one way or another theres a reason for each of us being here.” Not like the ginger’s reason for coming here was a secret, but Kotone may find her reason hard to believe. This is of course due to Ellie’s outgoing and friendly nature.
“Oh and just an fyi Kotone, the fungeon is not exactly fun. At least from what I’ve heard, so try to avoid that place like the plague.”
“Yeah... I sure as hell never expected to end up here, but here I am.” Her vague plans to try to overthrow the crime syndicate weren’t even the reason for being here. She didn’t have a solid reason, now that she thought about it.
“Fun... geon... Holy Arceus, what the hell is that? Because any play on words involving ‘dungeon’ is not a good-sounding one.” The first place her mind went was 'sex dungeon’, but she felt like that would be a little too much for the base. That seemed like the kind of thing grunts would have to find elsewhere.
Fancy Meeting You Here [Silver & Lyra]
Silver wasn’t even really listening to the girl’s apology to angry to focus on the words she was saying but when she paused and looked up, that’s when he started to pay attention. He knew that voice… he knew that face… and then it hit him.
Was his entire past here to torture him?
“Lyra?” he responded, an equally shocked tone in his voice. “N-No, I have a reason to be here. You- You have no reason. If anyone should be asking someone why the hell they’re here, it’s me. Didn’t you beat the pokemon league? What’re you doing in some weak scum organization like this?” he continued, narrowing his eyes.
He took a moment to look over her now that he was done yelling at her. She really hadn’t changed all that much had she? Like… seriously. Had she grown at all since that had last seen each other? She was making him feel tall and that usually wasn’t something he felt around most people.
“I have-” Lyra paused, looked around, and lowered her voice. “I have my reasons and they aren’t ones I wanna talk about in right here. If I discuss them at all.” She supposed she could talk about her father freely, but the part where she planned to gather intel so she could take them down from the inside wasn’t something she wanted overheard.
Come to think of it, could she even trust Silver with that particular secret? Yes, they knew each other, but who was to say he didn’t have a legitimate reason to join Team Rocket and wouldn’t hand her over to the Executives if she told him? Although, he did just call it ‘weak’ again... Who was she kidding? Everything was ‘weak’ to him. He’d probably call a baby playing peek-a-boo weak for it’s inability to understand object permanence.
"If we’re going to talk, can we at least move... out of the hallway? I’m not... I don’t feel comfortable out in public.” She didn’t want to be recognized, more like, but she wasn’t sure if Silver caught onto that.
Belly of the Beast | Lyra & Ellie
“Yep, we sure do! I have no idea how much crazy shenanigans happen in there! Its a lot of fun if you think about it!” To her, it was fun because there was never a dull moment that went on in there. But she wasn’t sure if Kotone was up for that much mischief. “Not to worry though, its not always like that. Other times it can be a pretty chill place to kick back and relax.”
“Well this room mate of yours will just have to deal with it. Your welcome to come here anytime though, if you just want to chill or have someone to talk to.”
Crazy shenanigans, huh? She was curious and slightly frightened by the prospect. What constituted ‘crazy’ here? Lyra added that onto the list of things to ask her father about, but, then again, he might be too old for the stuff the kids got into. “I’ll look around there, then. See if I can’t find ways to entertain myself.”
She paused at Ellie’s offer before breaking out into a grin. “Thanks. I’ll- I’ll take that into consideration. Kelly’s not so bad, really. I think she just needs some time to adjust, but, uh, it’s nice to know that there are friendlier people around.”
Is there any obstacle you are having trouble overcoming?
“Um... no?”
Can you dance?
“Mmm... actually, yeah. It’s not something I’ve done a whole lot of, but I can dance.”
How have you been doing, settling into Team Rocket?
“Well... I’m not dead yet. It’s an adjustment, but it’s... fine for now, I think.”
Health Hazard | Lyra & Sapphire
It had been so long since she had been able to be outside.
She had seen Damian with Tabitha earlier, and figured he would be distracted long enough for her to take at least Toro outside. It was wonderful, the grass under her bare feet, the sun on her face– it had been months since she had felt these things. She was so engrossed in the feeling of nature and having her starter with her she never even noticed the person coming up on her.
Toro let out a chirp of warning, and she turned just in time to see another girl falling forward– right on top of her. The two tumbled to the ground, Sapphire letting out a short shriek before impact. She lay there dazed, trying to ignore the screaming pain from her broken arm and ribs. Well, this sucked. She had screwed her eyes shut during the fall, but opened them as the girl finished speaking.
Oh. Oh no.
She certainly recognized her. Long boring league meetings, inter-regional functions, all the fun things that came with being Hoenn’s champion for four years– she remembered this face. Kanto– or was it Johto’s? Champion was in front of her… or on top of her to be more specific– what on earth could she be doing here? Not that Sapphire had much room to talk.
“L-lyra? Is that… actually you? Wha-” Sapphire stopped herself. She was tecnically dead for all intents and purposes, the media had sure made that known. How on earth was she going to explain this?
Lyra blinked. Now she was remembering. Sapphire Birch, Hoenn’s former Champion, who had stopped being Champion due to the fact that she was dead. Her mind ground to a halt as she rolled off the other girl, trying to process how a dead person was in Team Rocket territory and, furthermore, why Sapphire Birch of all people would be the supposedly-dead person.
“Uh... yeah.” The pain in her ankle was, for now, forgotten as she took all this in. “Lyra. Williams. And you’re... dead. Should be dead. But you’re not. Dead, that is. You’re here. In the... Kanto/Johto border... area.” She probably sounded so stupid right now, but there was a lot going on.
Antoinette remained unbothered by the Sapphire and instead trotted over to nudge at her trainer’s leg. The Umbreon was most concerned with the injuries Lyra had received while falling. The humans could deal with whatever it was that they were talking about.

Belly of the Beast | Lyra & Ellie
thatspunkyredhead :
“Pretty much, not that I’ve ever had a problem with it.” However, if it was a pretty long time without any missions, then that’s when Ellie would get concerned. As much as she liked fixing things as the next mechanic, it didn’t hurt to have a change once in a great while.
“Time off? Well theres plenty of answers to that question. Theres the break room where fellow Rockets relax and socialize, hanging out in my dorm room, or even leave base for a change in scenery.”
“You know, I think I’m gonna be fine with it, too.” She was afraid of getting her missions directly from some higher-up with a vendetta against her. Wouldn’t it be just tragic if something happened to her on a dangerous mission? ... Moltres, I am fucking paranoid.
“... The mafia base has a break room?” The question was out of her mouth before she had even processed it. “That’s... great. Um, not too sure about leaving base. Hanging out in my dorm seems okay, but I’m not sure my dormmate is too happy about me being there. Preeeetty sure she wasn’t expecting to suddenly have to share her space.”
Fancy Meeting You Here [Silver & Lyra]
passerbyrivalsilver :
Silver was in a bad mood. It wasn’t really set off by anything, it’s just that he was almost always in a bad mood– especially when he was in the base for too long. He walked down the halls angrily, his hands shoved into his pockets and his head hanging. He wasn’t really watching where he was going but his attitude was enough to keep people from walking into him. However, as he turned a corner someone had the nerve to walk directly into him.
Sure there was literally no way that either of them would’ve the noticed the person on the other side of the corner but he wasn’t about to admit that he had been at fault here. His head snapped up and he glared at the grunt- the girl- that had bumped into him.
“Hey, watch where you’re going.” he snapped, his voice annoyed and short. Normally he would’ve shoved right past them and kept going but his temper was already being tested. He might as well let some steam off by yelling at this poor girl. He deserved an apology. Even if he really didn’t, he wanted one.
Lyra wasn’t paying attention to her surroundings. That would have meant looking up and letting people see her face. No, it was safer - arguably - to focus on her feet and the floor in front of her. Of course, that, again, meant not paying attention to her surroundings and most certainly not looking around corners before she turned, resulting in smacking her face against someone’s chest.
“Sorry... sor-” His voice seemed familiar somehow. Now where had she heard that anger before? Her mind flashed to Pokemon battles and Cherrygrove City and a Feraligatr and her eyes widened. Quickly, the short girl tilted her head back and there was that oh-so-familiar mop of red hair and that face wearing a familiar angry expression and she stepped back instinctively.
“S-Silver?” The shock was evident. Why was he here? Didn’t he hate Team Rocket? Granted, so did she, but this was something she would have never expected. Lyra was tempted to pull out her glasses and make sure her farsightedness wasn’t causing her to see something else. “What the hell are you doing here?”

If there was one thing Lyra didn’t like, it was wasting good weather being indoors. Her life on the road had given her an appreciation for the proper times to be outside, so she gathered her things, strapped on her running shoes, and left for the grounds around base. Antoinette ran beside her, the Umbreon being the smallest Pokemon she had and therefore the best suited for these kinds of ventures.
One thing she didn’t take into account, though, was the uneven ground. Logically, she kind of expected it, due to the base being located on a mountainside. The fact of the matter was that she was used to more even ground. She was used to the trampled-down, dirt roads criss-crossing Johto and Kanto.
She was coming up on another person when her foot got caught in an unseen hole in the ground, causing her to fall forward, straight onto the other girl. They both fell onto the ground and Lyra blinked vigorously as pain shot up her ankle.
“Owwww... Sorry about that, but, also, ow.” She blinked again at the other girl, mouth twisting in confusion. “... You look familiar.”
