Blue Buddha Farm: Assortment of Mixed Caladiums
i keep thinking about how it feels as if we have developed ourselves an obsession with "healing" these days – and a friend said something that really stuck in my head – "if you're part of a community where you're always trying to heal, then that means that you always need to be sick". like i think that we're all taking this ideal of healing too far saying that everybody needs therapy all the time and resetting your gut biome or surrounding yourself with positive energy or whatever it is that you can come up with. you're always focusing on something that is "wrong" and that needs to be eliminated, after which everything will be okay again. it all sounds like just another way of maintaining an illusion of control over your life and i don't think it's doing us any good
Perhaps the most frustrating but also the most irrevocably liberating realization I came to this year is that people are so different & that this relentless trend of advice that tries to generalize human behavior into absolute tenets really does not compute. “People like the chase” actually some do and some don’t “people like unavailability” some do and some don’t “if they don’t initiate first they’re not interested” actually people express interest differently. People are simply different. I need to enforce this in my brain every day bc it’s so lucrative to simplify relationships down to these unspoken rules but thinking it can ever be this simple is a mirage
We should all be less embarrassed to be caught trying tbh. Wanting to be something is only ever bad if you’re trying to imitate others without ever forming your own thoughts opinions or taste. But I have never looked down on people who’re trying to get somewhere or called them wannabes or mocked them for it. Like that’s admirable actually. There is nothing wrong w having goals and trying at something until you’re good at it. And there’s nothing wrong w the initial phase where you’re struggling. That’s the most natural thing in the world
i just wanna go on cute roadtrips so we can fuck in all the prettiest places
