Oh my gawd I cannot actually fathom Jeremy being any older than 6 years and my Simpsons timeline ends for this very reason. Snake and Gloria, too. I have no idea what happens to any of them after 1998 and I think that’s for the best. They are out of my hands…
But that just means that I get to think about this specific ten years of their lives in EXCRUCIATING DETAIL
So Jeremy is my baby boy and he’s amazing and awesome and I love him. He’s born in 1993 and is kind of the reason for Gloria leaving Snake because she didn’t want to raise this poor kid with all THAT happening so she’s kind of single-moming for four years until her father passes away. So when she takes Jeremy to Snake and Sarah in 1996 he has to adapt to life in Springfield away from his mom. But don’t worry, he’s got a bunch of reformed/reforming criminals to look after him.
He starts out kind of shy around others, but as he’s getting used to living with his dad he starts to open up a lot (especially with Bob’s help since he and Snake are roomies. Bob got a degree in theatre and education and actually has a passion for working with kids —ahem, kids who are not Bart Simpson, that is. He’s taking his meds don’t worry).
I like to think that he’s a very curious kid. He’s very into natural sciences like Geology and Paleontology, and he likes to express this by chasing his friends around pretending to be a dinosaur and naming all his favorite minerals in alphabetical order. But he also likes to read his dad’s old comic books (Captain America is his fave…) and has a healthy interest in Itchy and Scratchy. It’s easier for him and Snake to bond quickly because they have similar interests despite not really having interacted with each other beforehand. (Here’s him and Snake at Springfield comic con as Indiana Jones and.. the fucking rolling rock if death Jeremy insisted on making vvv)
Eventually, it’s time for Jeremy to start kindergarten and it’s.. kind of a learning curve. So like.. yeah Snake had to lock tf in when parenting bc Jeremy legit started stealing shit for no reason and garnered a reputation at school for being the son of a loser criminal who couldnt forsee his impressionable son ending up like him if he kept up his bad habits so Snake has his eighth existential crisis this month and actually starts to behave better.
But Jeremy is resilient and after a bit of communication with his dad they’re both getting back on track. He found his friend group real quick, too, with 7yo Maggie Simpson, 4yo Poonam Nahasapeemapetilan, and 13yo Ralph Wiggum.
Gloria’s pretty proud of both of them, and now that she’s ended her law enforcement career she’s looking forward to seeing them more often.
