FAVOURITE RECORDS: HARD TO DECIDE BUT I THINK “EXIT ENGLISH”.

You know why I write about them today? because 3 days ago, me and my best friend took a flight to London just to see them playing. Shit I’ve never seen them live in the last 6 years and it was too fucking much time.The show was great and we met a lot of friends from all around at the venue but let’s start from the beginning. I discovered them by the bonus DVD on the “rock against bush” comp and it was BOOOM. I loved that video from the song INFRARED immediately, that song was so fucking great and it still is for me. Fast, melodic, cool armonies and screams. a perfect mix between punk rock and harcore. I started to search more about the band and I was lucky because “exit english” was just released and many magazines, websites and kids were talking about them because it was clearly an amazing album. I bought it at the shop where I bought all of my records during mi teenage years one morning when I decided not to go to school but going to buy records (how punk I was). It was 2003 or 2004, the years when I was discovering the hardcore side of punk rock so they were a natural and perfect step between thoese two legs of punk. I listened to that album a million times in a row, I remember that the first 4 songs were blewing my mind then after all of the songs came to me, Track 10 of that album “extinguish” is probably my all time favourite song from strike anywhere. and when i was not listening to it, I was listening to some homemade mix where I’ve put at least a couple of songs from them. The next record I bought was “To live in discontent”, not a real album but a collection if b-sides and rarities, the sound of most of the songs was a bit shitty bu I didn’t gave a shit about it. I know every song on it and expecially loved “Asleep” and the title track. Then I bought their first album “change is a sound” and I rembember that I was truly in loved with it since the first listening. It was sounding so raw and angry..so full of energy and every songs was like a bomb. If I said that my favourite album is Exitenglish, this takes silver medal after a long head to head ride. Is pure gold and is amazing how a debut album from a band of young boys, can sound so fucking perfect! in 2007 they signed with Fat wreck chords and I was more than happy because my favourite label was singing one of my new top bands than they released Dead FM and I can say that I was expecting something more. Don’t get me wrong, this is not a bad album and I could not say that is their “worst” cause they’ve ever done a bad album but at least the one that I like less. There are probably the best melodies and armonies from the band on this album but sound a bit too melodic for the strike anywhere that I’d love to listen. By the way, there are some of their best lyirics on it, and is not easy to say this because they always wrote smart, inspirational adn heartfelt words in their songs. Funny how I said that this is the recrod from them that I like the less but is the only one that I own both on cd and Vinyl. This record permitted me to finally see them in 2007 ten fucking years ago. It was a Sunday evening and i was moving to the venue called “rock planet” with my beloved sister. That club was perfect for punk shows because was not too big, the stage was small and just 1 meter high with no barrers. There were not so many people, just 50/70 people I think but the show was incredible, I sang along every word of every song and almost broke a finger while I fell on the floor after doing crowdsurfing. I saw them the year after and in 2010 in a Festival in Mantova. was cool but not the best because the stage was too high and the badn was so far from the crowd but there is a thing that i always love to remember: a guy was doing some crowdsurfing and then when he arrive at the barriers, a security guy (in case you don’t know, in Italy 90% of security staff are complete idiots) took this guy and smashed it heavily to the floor ripping his shirt. Thomas, the singer, saw that and immediatly stopped the show yelling “hey hey, no bullshit like this, we are all having fun, there is no place for violence here” and then told to the guy “sorry for that, please go to our merch table and take the t-shirt that you want”. that was one of the countless moment when I thought: “shit, I belong to the best thing on this planet”. After several years the released Iron front and I love it so fucking much both the 7″ and the LP and there are two of my favourite song from them: “orphan age” on the 7″ and “postcards from home” on the full album, those songs are just perfect. then they started to play less and not being a fulltime band so I waited all of those years for seing them live till last sunday. Funny fact is that the show was at Underworld in Camden town, the venue where was filmed the DVD that I bought just after they first record I took from them. I love when some cirles of lifes ends up this way. Love and respect.

COUNTRY. ENGLAND (MEMBERS ARE ORIGINALLY FROM ASIA)

ENG: This is pretty beyond randomness, I discovered this band because a friend of mine told me that they did a featuring in a song from an italian band called “subsonica” that I’ve never really liked that much but we were listening to it on his stereo and it was so damn strange the fact that the guy from this band was singing in a language that I had never heard before, probably it was some Indian lenguage but I am not sure of it. That fact is that I was pretty amazed just by the strangeness of that, the song was nothing special, i am just listening to it right now after several years. I was in a small record shop near my village during the college years, I found this and that name instantly recalled me about that strange singing..it was pretty cheap so I decided to give it a try. They are a good band in my opinion, most of all because they are really strange: they mix reggae, electonic, rap, drum n bass and asian music. Is like if beastie boys and the prodigy have met in Pakistan. I never saw them live and sincerely I just listened to this record a few times because they are simply not in my tastes but now that i am re-listening to it after a long time, I find it really interesting and I always love Live album because they put out what a band is at 100%. I will give them another try :) ENG: Questo è piuttosto al di là della casualità, ho scoperto questa band perché un mio amico mi disse che avevano fatto un featuring in una canzone di una band italiana chiamata "subsonica" che non mi è mai piaciuta molto, ma l'abbiamo ascoltata Sul suo stereo ed era così strano strano il fatto che il cantante di questa band stava cantando in una lingua che non avevo mai sentito prima, probabilmente era una delle lingue indiane, ma non ne sono sicuro. fatto è che ero abbastanza stupito per la stranezza di quella voce, la canzone non era niente di speciale, lo sto ascoltando subito dopo alcuni anni. Ero stato in un piccolo negozio di dischi vicino al mio paese negli anni di liceo, ho trovato questo e quel nome mi ha immediatamente richiamato quel cantare strano .. era abbastanza economico quindi ho deciso di provarlo. Sono una buona band a mio parere, soprattutto perché sono veramente strani: mescolano reggae, elettonic, rap, drum n bass e musica asiatica. È come se i beastie boys e prodigy si fossero incontrati in Pakistan. Non li ho mai visti e sinceramente ho ascoltato questo disco solo alcune volte perché non sono semplicemente nei miei gusti ma ora che la sto ascoltando dopo un lungo periodo, lo trovo davvero interessante e amo sempre gli album live Perché tirano fuori quello che una band è al 100%. Darò loro un'altra possibilità :)

I don’t remember exactly when I discovered this band but I sincerly have to say that it was not love at fisrt listening..I was reading about them in many zines and then when I listen to them I was in that period of teeneage punker when all you ask to music is people playing as fast as you can immagine and they were not as fast as i was imagining, many of their tunes where sounding kinda strange to me at the time. I saw that they tured with propagandhi and then I said to my self: “dude, if they are so apreciated in the scene, probably they are not as lame as you are thinking” and after years I realised that “strangenes” was just “know how to write great songs and smart lyrics”. I saw them the first time in Bologna in a squat, playing with a band of friends in a squat and i started to like them. There I bought the first album from them in my collection “start from scratch” and there are several songs that I really like on it. Moreover, I am obsessed by artworks and their are very accurated. I had this routine since when I was 14or 15 about going to bed with a cd and exploring the artwork and lyrics so i discovered how interesting and intelligent they are. Then I saw them once again in Bologna, once again with a band of friends, once again in a squat. It was actually the only time that I spoke with those guys and they are really cool boys. I enjoyed that show and after a few days i bought “ Perspectives & Objectives” that actually is my favourite record from them. I really love almost every song, the songwriting , melodies and messages on it are pure gold in my opinion. I bought this from their italian label NO REASON RECORDS, the same as I did with the vinyl of their latest release ENGAGE, that I recieved just 4 days ago and I am really digging in my record player because it sounds so fucking interesting and energetic! surely became one of my favourite as soon as I learn well these tunes. Last time I saw them playing was last summer at Punk rock holiday, and their set was really grat for me...finally I had the chance to see them and knowing many songs to sing along with them and I was happy to see that many people in the crowd were enjoying their set. Last but not least, the eldest record that I ownd from the is almost the latest that I bought. 2 month ago I was in belgium at FOD fest and I saw it at the LESS TALK MORE ROCK distro, run by my lovely friend Joelle so I took advantage for increase my Antillectual collection and support some hardcore scene suppoters and I definitely like this too!! Just sorry for not liking you at first, this is a really cool band and luckly I can see many people around who support them. good choice, thumbs up

EN: Here it is, my very first band! Is pretty like a clichè but we formed this when we were 12 years old, we were just schoolmate, bestfriends since we were 5 and we started this thing. We were the only band at the school and our friends were so excited as we were! I still remember our first practice: we set our shitty equipments in my house’s attic and started to jam together...I think that we spent like 4 hours always playing BRIAN ADAMS’ “SUMMER OF 69″ but we were the most happy people on the planet. we were already rockstars in our mind. during the firsts month we jammed togheter a lot, we had no idea about writing songs, we were just playing covers from brian adams, bon jovi, red hor chili peppers and green day, we had our firsts shows and we were excited as hell, then we finally wrote our very first song that is the number 2 on this cd.We We were enjoing out time together as friends but after 2 or 3 years I was strongly entering into punk rock music and I started a punk band but i didn’t want to leave this one because there were my childhood mates (we still are super friends) but i was not giving much passion on this anymore so one day they decided to put me out of the band and I was so fucking sad of this but at the same time i Knew that was the right choice for both parts. They continued playind around for years and I’ve always been their N1 fan, I was not liking their music but I was in love with those 5 guys. they have just a few recording stuff, as this cd (I don’t played on it because I was already out), they made just a few copies for friends and after some years they stopped playing but in 2013 something magic happened. There were a little festival in the village where we live and the promoter of the festival asked to someone of us: “Are you guys still playing? do you want to play at the festival?” and he answered “ahahahaha no we don’t play anymore but would be really cool to be part of it...we were born and raised in this little village “ then we talked together and he asked “guys, what about doing a reunion show with just 5 or 6 songs from us” and we obviously said FUCK YES! We restarted to jam together after 10 years or so and we were having even more fun that the first time, we prepared the show for a month and then we did the concert: it was so emotional for all of us, it was just the closing of an endless friendship circle. after 30 mintues we were off. but it was really awesome. this band will always have a special place in my heart.

IT: Ecco, la mia prima band! È piuttosto un cliché, ma abbiamo formato questo quando avevamo 12 anni, siamo stati semplicemente compagni di classe e migliori amici da quando ne avevamo 5 e abbiamo iniziato questa cosa. Eravamo l'unica band della scuola e dei nostri amici erano carichi così come lo eravamo noi! Mi ricordo ancora la nostra prima sessione di prove: abbiamo impostato le nostre attrezzature di merda nella soffitta di casa mia e ha iniziato a suonare insieme ... Credo che abbiamo trascorso tipo 4 ore sempre a suonare BRIAN ADAMS' “Summer of 69",eravamo le persone più felici su il pianeta. eravamo già rockstar nella nostra mente. Durante i primi mesi suonavamo assieme tantissimo, non avevamo idea di come scrivere canzoni, stavamo suonando cover di brian adams, Bon Jovi, RHCP e green day, abbiamo avuto i nostri spettacoli concerti e siamo rimasti entusiasti, allora abbiamo finalmente scritto la nostra prima canzone che è il numero 2 in questo cd. Ci stavamo godendo alla grande il tempo assieme, ma dopo 2 o 3 anni io stavo fortemente entrando in amore musica punk rock e ho iniziato un gruppo punk ma io non volevo lasciare questo perché ci sono stati i miei compagni di infanzia (siamo ancora amici super) ma non stavo mettendo più molta passione così un giorno hanno deciso di mettermi fuori dalla band ed ero così fottutamente triste ma allo stesso tempo sapevo che era la scelta giusta per entrambe le parti. Continuarono a suonare in giro per anni e sono sempre stato il loro fan N1, non amavo la loro musica ma ero innamorato di quei 5 ragazzi. Hanno registrato solo pochi pezzi, questo cd (non ho suonato io su di esso perché ero già fuori), hanno fatto solo alcune copie per gli amici e dopo alcuni anni hanno smesso di suonare, ma nel 2013 qualcosa di magico è successo. Ci fu un piccolo festival nel paesino in cui viviamo e il promotore del festival chiesto a qualcuno di noi: “Voi ragazzi state ancora suonando? volete suonare al festival?” e lui ha risposto “no ahahahaha non suoniamo più, ma sarebbe davvero bello essere parte di esso ... siamo nati e cresciuti in questo piccolo villaggio“, allora abbiamo parlato insieme e ha chiesto “ragazzi, che ne dite di fare una concerto di reunion con solo 5 o 6 canzoni nostre?”e noi ovviamente detto CAZZO SI! Abbiamo ripreso a suonare insieme dopo 10 anni o giù di lì e ci stavamo divertendo ancora di più che la prima volta, abbiamo preparato la scaletta per un mese e poi abbiamo fatto il concerto: è stato così emozionante per tutti noi, era solo la chiusura di un cerchio di amicizia senza fine. dopo 30 mintui eravamo fuori. ma è stato davvero impressionante. questa band avrà sempre un posto speciale nel mio cuore.

BAND: SUICIDAL TENDENCIES

Here we have the godfathers of those who put hardcore punk, metal and skateboard culture all in one, three loves of my life all together so i have to tank them for this and for their impact on the scene. I heard about them since my early punk days when I was trying to do some tricks on my skateboard (I always sucked hard on that!). They were those crazy guys with bandanas, high socks and trucker hat with their famous “suicidal” written on, and now I will tell you a story about those hats. Two years ago, I was touring with my band in Belgium, it was an awesome venue called Sodom Rock cafe in Tongere, the show was really fun mostly because we were drunk and there were a guy in the front row even more drunk than us, standing in front of the bassist player that was wearing an ST trucker and after 5 seconds since the end of each song that guy was yelling SUICIDAAAAALLLLL with all of the air in his lungs and we laughed at that every fucking time and at the end of the last 2 or 3 songs we started a sort of challenge with him, trying to anticipate him screaming SUICIDAL!!! Now I tell you the latest story about them, 2 days ago i was at a TRASH TALK show in Bologna (the show was fucking great) and at that venue there is always a cool hardcore punk distro where I bought the LP that you see in the photo. After the show I was drinking outside the venue wit my friend and some one knocked on my shoulder so I turned around and it was the drummer of Trash talk that told me with a smile on his face “shit dude, I saw that record before the show and I was going to buying it but you stoled it to me..is one of my favourite records, I have a deal: that LP for a shirt from us and a cigarette”. I said no because I wanted this album, because it costed me and because i don’t smoke but it was cool to see how musician can interact for things like these. After that we talked for other 15 minutes about everything and it is a really great guy By the way, the first time I saw them was in summer of 2011 I think, they were opening for Bad religion in a venue near the seaside. the venue was really cool an it was packed, there vere a million degrees and that show was freacking awesome. After that, me and the friend that came with me at the show, stayed at the venue until they closed and we went to sleep in my car but at 8 Am there was too fucking hot so we went to sleep at the beach and then on the way back home, we went to a Dillinger escape plan show the night after and then straight home... we were young and really strong. The night before that ST show, I went to a skatepark in Carpi where there was a skate contest and Mike muir and the bass player from the band were the jury and after that, Mike did a spocken word about the punk/skate culture in the early days. It was cool and I had my bandana signed by them and I still proudly have it frame on my bedroom’s wall. Recently I read the NOFX book and in the early days they tell a lot of stories concerning Suicidal tendencies in the 80′s in LA and all of those are pretty crazy and violent stories about drungs, brawls and blood. Last time I saw them was like a month ago, headlining the Persistence tour, the venue was very big but really packed and I was there to see them mostly for one reason: DAVE FUCKING LOMBARDO on the drums. I love slayer and even more, I love how lombardo plays and seing him playing so fast/hard and perfecty with ST was a real dream came true!! The show was awesome and I can’t wait to see them again in 4 month. A cool thing was seeing many old school hardcore kinds straight from the 80′s at the show, proudly wearing their bandana carrying their 45 years old at the best Thanks for all of these years of dedication

EN:This band was quite well known in the italian punk scene till 5or 6 years ago. and I can’t believe that nine years are already passed by since this album has been released!! I admit, I ve never been a huge fan of them, but I saw their name on several zines and reviews moreover on the bill of many shows around, they were playing a lot of shows at the time!! I just saw them once in 2010 or 2011 when they were playing series of concerts named “rock your weekend” with other bands of the scene. I was not there for them but I was happy to finally see them live, I arrived at the venue after 1 hour and a half and they were already playing the third song but I can say that they were playing well and the sound was really good. I am not a big fan of that kind of melodic punk rock but when a band plays well, you just recognize it, and that was it. I bought this album some years ago from my friend Ste from NO REASON REC. (one the best punk label in italy and Europe) that was doing a promotion by selling like 6 random cds from their catalogue that i didn’t already have and one of those was this one. It still sound fresh and well and I love the thing that on this cd there are almost every song that I listened to that night at their show for the first time. Last but not least, after a long-term pause, I read just a couple of weeks ago that their are back on track playing some shows around the country and I am really happy for them. Wish I can go to see them again and, this time I can sing along some of thier tunes. Welcome back! ITA: Questa band era ben conosciuta nella scena punk italiana fino a 5 o 6 anni fa e non riesco a credere che sono già passati 9 anni da quando questo album è stato rilasciato !! Lo ammetto, io non sono mai stato un grande fan di loro, ma in quegli anni vedevo il loro nome su diverse zine e recensioni oltre che nelle line up di tanti concerti in giro, stavano suonando davvero un sacco di spettacoli al momento !! Li vidi solo una volta dal vivo nel 2010 o nel 2011, quando stavano suonando serie di concerti denominati “rock your week-end” con altre band della scena. Non ero lì per loro, ma sono stato felice di vedere finalmente dal vivo, sono arrivato al locale dopo 1 ora e mezza di viaggio e stavano già suonando la terza canzone, ma posso dire che stavano suonando bene e il suono era veramente buono . Io non sono un grande fan di questo tipo di melodic punk rock, ma quando una band suona bene, lo si riconosce, questo era il casoloro. Ho comprato questo album qualche anno fa dal mio amico Ste da NO REASON REC. (una delle migliori etichetta punk in Italia e in Europa), che stava facendo una promozione con la vendita come 6 cd casuali dal loro catalogo che non ho avessi già e uno di quelli era questo. E 'ancora il suono fresco e completo e mi piace la cosa che in questo CD ci sia quasi ogni canzone che ho ascoltato al loro concerto per la prima volta. Ultimo ma non meno importante, dopo una pausa di a lungo termine, ho letto solo un paio di settimane fa che loro sono di nuovo in pista la riproduzione di alcuni spettacoli in giro per il paese e io sono davvero felice per loro. Vorrei che posso andare a vedere di nuovo e, questa volta posso cantare insieme alcuni dei brani appenderci. Ben tornati!

Avete presente la noia estrema? se mi chiedessero una definizione, gli direi esattamente questo disco! un mesetto fa su Interpunk ho fatto un ordine al quale ho aggiunto una roba che fanno loro che consiste nel ricevere 3 LP random a 12 dollari... l’idea in sè per me è davvero parecchio figa, ti consente di conoscere artisti che se no manco nelle situazioni più remote scopriresti, d’altra parte però magari capisci perche 3 lp li danno a soli 12$ e rischi di pigliare inculate tipo in questo caso.

Immaginatevi la canzone più lenta dei Pink floyd, beh in confronto a questo disco sarebbe come ascoltare i carcass. Intendiamoci, io adoro i Pink floyd e mi piace parecchio ascoltare musica tranquilla a volte ma c’è un limite a tutto. Calcolate che la prima traccia è partita dopo tipo 2 minuti in cui sentivo solo il rumore della puntina sul disco ed un delay lontanissimo, tanto che credevo di aver beccato il disco con difetto di stampa. Invece era un difetto di musica!!! che poi manco suona male eh non è sgradevole ma fa venire l’ansia tanto che è lento e piatto. Immaginatevi una sorta di folk psichedelico con canzoni lunghissime che sembrano più o meno tutte scritte allo stesso modo. Ho fatto una fatica immane ad ascoltare per intero entrambi i lati del disco. La mia ragazza è in fissa con musica calmissima ma mi sa che qua siamo a livelli così estremi che è troppo pure per lei. se lo mettessi in macchina rischierei di addormentarmi. Punto a favore: mi piace la copertina ma pure qui la magia svanisce alla svelta dato che pure sull’etichetta centrale del disco, dove si legge lato A o lato B per intenderci, NON C’E’ SCRITTO UN CAZZO! TUTTO COMPLETAMENTE BIANCO!! noia estrema pure li...boh

EN: I clearly remember when I first listened to them. It was during my early college years, like 14 /15 years ago and I went to my friend Luca's house. We were playing together at that time in our very first punk band. I was there during a sunny afternoon and then he brought out this cd and there were to many things that a 14 years old punk kid is almost obliged to fall in love with: 1) The name of the band: what could sound more punk than call a band “anti-flag”? 2) the artwork: Policemen with weapons in their hands 3) they were on fat wreck chords 4) there was a song named: “this machine kills fascists...at that point I was in love even before my first listening. Then he put the cd in the stereo, I was enjoying the sound but that voice was not convincing me very much but at least they were playing songs that I could cover in my bedroom and I was loving the bass lines. Years after, when Luca stopped listening to punk sold me that cd and obviously I still have it. The album after “Underground network”was “The terror state” and that is my favorite album of them; more aggressive, more fast and some more songs where the Chris 2 (the bass player) sings and I really like his voice. I really loved that album and it remained in my cd players for weeks every morning on the bus going to school. In that period I started focusing on lyrics and understanding them better and I was always liking their messages: Anger, rebellion, hope and resistance were my daily bread (well, at least they still are). After that, my musical taste was going in direction of hardcore, faster and angrier sound as they become more melodic so when “for blood and empire” came out, they started to came down in my personal band toplist (anyway way, that album is very good). In the last 10 years, in my opinion they have become the modern version of The Clash, because of the sound and the kind of message that they spread and even if I don't listen to them very often, is a great compliment eh, the clash you know, they have been milestones of a revolution for thousands kids. The very first time I saw them it was at Groezrock 2012, I always saw that they were cool on live videos but seing them live is another thing. They are a really great live band, constantly running jumping around and dealing with the crowd. Then I saw them opening for Bad Religion in Bologna...is never easy to open for them because they are gods and I never saw them playing bad live but anti-flag did their job well, the crowd was excited and for the last song they came playing in the middle of the pit, a thing that you don't see often from well-known bands but they've always stayed on the same ground with their fans and I really admire this attitude. Last time I saw them was at punk rock holiday and there they are like idols, the show was really wild and they will play there this year too so probably it would be cool as well. A big thumb up for them that always stand for the people and play many benefit shows around to promote people rights and spread a message of strength and hope, last of those were the anti-Trump manifestation in DC, they brought hope to people in a very dark day. Is not very much, but at least is a really good contribute

IT: Mi ricordo chiaramente quando ho ascoltato per la prima volta loro. E 'stato durante i miei primi anni di liceo, 14/15 anni fa... sono andato a casa del mio amico Luca. suonavamo insieme a quel tempo nel nostro primo gruppo punk. Ero lì durante un pomeriggio di sole e poi ha tirato fuori questo cd e c'erano molte cose delle quali un punk di 14 anni è quasi obbligato a innamorarsi: 1) Il nome della band: cosa potrebbe sembrare più punk di chiamare una band "anti-flag"? 2) La copertina: Poliziotti con le armi in mano 3) erano sotto Fat Wreck Chords 4) c'era una canzone di nome: "questa macchina uccide i fascisti” ... a quel punto ero innamorato anche prima del mio primo ascolto. Poi ha messo il cd nello stereo, mi stavo godendo il suono, ma quella voce non era convincente, ma almeno loro stavano suonando canzoni che potevo suonare nella mia camera da letto e mi piacevano una sacco le linee di basso. Anni dopo, quando Luca smesso di ascoltare punk, mi ha venduto quel CD ed ovviamente l'ho ancora. L'album dopo "undergound network" era "the terror state", che è il mio album preferito loro; più aggressivo, più veloce e alcune altre canzoni in cui il Chris 2 (il bassista) canta e mi piace molto la sua voce. Ho amato molto quell'album ed è rimasto nella mio lettore cd per settimane ogni mattina sul bus andare a scuola. In quel periodo ho iniziato a concentrarmi su testi e la loro comprensione migliore e mi e i loro messaggi mi prendevano molto: rabbia, la ribellione, la speranza e la resistenza erano il mio pane quotidiano (beh, almeno lo sono ancora).Dopo di che, il mio gusto musicale stava andando in direzione verso hardcore, più veloce e il suono più arrabbiato man mano che loro diventarono più melodici così quando "for blood and empire" è venuto fuori, hanno cominciato a scendere nella mia toplist delle band (comunque, l'album è bello). Negli ultimi 10 anni, a mio parere, sono diventati la versione moderna di The Clash, a causa del suono e il tipo di messaggio che diffondono ed anche se io non li ascolto molto spesso, è un grande complimento eh, THE CLASH, sono stati pietre miliari di una rivoluzione per tantissimi ragazzi. La prima volta che ho visto loro dal vivo era al Groezrock 2012, ho sempre visto che erano fighi su video live, ma vederli dal vivo è un'altra cosa. Sono davvero una grande band dal vivo, costantemente correre, saltare in giro e coinvolgere la folla. Poi ho visto aprire per Bad Religion a Bologna ... non è mai facile da aprire per loro, perché sono degli dei e non li ho mai visto suonare male dal vivo ma Anti-Flag hanno fatto il loro lavoro bene, la folla era eccitata e per l'ultima canzone vennero a suonare in mezzo alla gente, una cosa che non si vede spesso da band ben note, sono sempre rimasto sullo stesso terreno con i loro fan e ammiro molto questo atteggiamento. L'ultima volta che li ho visti era al punk rock holiday 2015 e la sono come idoli, lo spettacolo è stato davvero selvaggio e suoneranno di nuovo lì anche quest'anno quindi probabilmente sarà una figata. Un grande pollice in su per loro che si distinguono sempre per le persone e suonano a molti show di beneficenza in giro per promuovere i diritti delle persone e diffondere un messaggio di forza e speranza, ultimo di questi erano la manifestazione anti-Trump in DC, hanno portato speranza alle persone in un giorno scuro. Non sarà molto, ma almeno è davvero un buon contributo

Il motivo per cui oggi scrivo di questa band è il più triste che si possa immaginare. Purtroppo ieri notte, Andrea, il chitarrista degli Injury, se n’è andato. Non conosco con precisione cosa sia successo come non conoscevo bene lui ma posso solo dire che quando ho appreso la notizia stamattina ci sono rimasto di merda. Ho avuto occasione di parlare con lui non più di 2 o 3 volte ma è sempre stato il classico “gigante buono” un ragazzone con capelli lunghi e barbone che sembrava un vichingo ma in realtà era il primo a fare ridere la gente ma come detto non lo conoscevo così bene da permettermi di fare chissà quali discorsi, quindi posso solo fare le condoglianze alla famiglia ed agli amici e fare un piccolo tributo a lui parlando della pasione infinita che ci accomuna. Parliamo degli Injury: li ho conosciuti totalmente a caso, una sera che ero in un locale con amici e suonava una tribute band dei Pantera e loro erano la band di apertura. Mi hanno fatto letteralmente impazzire e non avevo idea di chi fossero, conoscevo solo il batterista ed il bassista perchè abitano a 5km da dove sto io e sapevo già che loro erano mostri a suonare, beh a questo aggiungete 2 chitarristi incredibili che oltre ad avere una gran tecnica avevano pure un gran gusto nel fare dei riff fichissimi ed un cantante con voce roca il giusto per aggiungere gain al tutto. Io di metal non so tantissimo, ne so infinitamente meno che di punk ma sono palesemente sicuro che questi se invece di nascere a Reggio emilia fossero nati negli stati uniti avrebbero un nome ben più grande di tanti altri che vedete suonare da anni in festival, qui si parla di una band incredibile nata nella zona dove vivo ed è sempre un motivo di orgoglio per me; vi giuro, per i miei gusti non gli manca davvero nulla di quello che vorrei sentire in una thrash metal band: ritmiche veloci, cassa in sedicesimi, palm mute fortissimi ed urla...e tutto nel giro di 30 km da dove abito. La tribute band che quella sera suono dopo di loro fece una figura poverissima perchè erano abbastanza scarsi e gli injury invece avevano fatto un concertone. A fine serata andai a complimentarmi con loro e comprai subito il loro EP che rimase per settimane nell ostereo della mia macchina, lo ascoltavo in continuazione e lo imparai a memoria, nel frattempo iniziai a seguirli e mi capitò di andarli a sentire un paio di volte in giro finchè non vennero a suonare proprio nel paese in cui vivo, in un piccolo circolo di ragazzi che si fa il culo per organizzare concerti ed andai la a piedi. Come sempre la gente non era tanta e come sempre loro erano comunque felici di stare li a suonare e divertirsi. Quella sera comprai il loro primo album che era appena uscito e fu l’occasione in cui parlai per più tempo con i ragazzi, siamo stati li un po a fare due chiacchiere parlando e scherzando sui vari generi che di uno o dell’altro e viceversa. Quel disco (unleash the violence) mi fece impazzire ancora di più, ho imparato a memoria pure quello e posso onestamente dire che in una canzone della mia band c’e un giro di chitarra inspirato da una loro canzone, ci sono alcuni riffi in sto album che mi fanno letteralmente impazzire. Per un motivo o per l’altro poi comunque non ebbi più l’occasione di vederli dal vivo ma vedevo con piacere che continuavano a farsi il culo in giro. Andò via il cantante che mi piaceva un sacco ma per fortuna fu sostituito ed andarono avanti tanto che registrarono un secondo album (dominHate). pensate un po che novità: pure questo mi piace! ma ad essere sincero preferisco quello precedente..ma poco importa. Nel frattempo Il batterista ha lasciato la band ed è entrato nei RAW POWER ed il bello è stato che oltre ad essere una grande soddisfazione per lui, tutta la band era contenta per Gianmarco, nonostante decise di uscire dal gruppo. Li ho visti l’ultima volta qualche mese fa a Reggio ad un festival dove suonavano assieme a Hatebreed, Raw power ed altri. un festival del genere non lo vedevo da anni a reggio e fu quella l’occasione in cui comprai l’ultimo disco ed a questo punto posso dire di avere la loro intera discografia, come un vero fan. Artio, riposa in pace.

ENG:I knew about this band several years ago thanks to one of my favourite websites ever: SKATEPUNKERS.NET what I remeber is that they probably were the first spanish skatepunk band that I've ever heard about, and i discovered them thank to the spanish guy who run that website (and if you don't know it, go check it now!! is thank to it if I knew many cool underground and underrated band from everywhere). I always liked the way they play: fast/melodies/technical riffs but with good taste and not some extreme tapping stuff that I hate and I keep on seeing around. I saw them live for the first time at Punk rock holiday 2015 and I can't believe how great they are live!! I mean, they really dig it on stage and i wish they should be far more known than how they actually are. Then I saw that they did an unbelievable tour in south America with some milestones as LAGWAGON and BELVEDERE obviously I was envious but I was happy at the same time because I really like the band, I saw that they toured around for years always being appreciated so they deserved it. Then, when my band shared the stage with another band from Spain (MAIN LINE 10, that became great friends of us) after the show we were drinking and they said: “you guys must come to Spain and play with Adrenalized, I know you could hang together and would be a great show”.... yeah, I wish it could become real as soon as possible. Finally I had the chance to meet them just a month ago: I was in Belgium at F.O.D. Fest, at one of the best venue I've ever played in, with a sick line up, replacing a guitarist for a band of huge friends of mine (Thousand Oaks). I spent time in the backstage with the guys of Adrenalized and they were more than kind with everyone, always with a smile on their faces and we joked a little bit about our italian and spanish accents on english lenguage. Their show was really good and I really enjoyed it also if I was tired as fuck after being around for 2 days with 6 hours of sleep. I probably liked them even more than at punk rock holiday because, you know, everything goes better when you are in a Club rather than festivals. That was the day when I finally bought a record from them, and I am keep on listening to it. Great guys.

IT: Sapevo di questa band da diversi anni fa grazie ad uno dei miei siti preferiti di sempre: SKATEPUNKERS.NET quello che ricordo è che probabilmente sono stati la prima band skatepunk spagnola di cui io abbia mai sentito parlare, e li ho scoperti grazie al ragazzo spagnolo che gestisce quel sito (e se non lo conoscete, andare a controllare ora !! è grazie ad esso se conoscevo molti gruppi sconosciuti sottovalutati da tutto il mondo). Mi è sempre piaciuto il loro modo di suonare: veloci / melodie / riff tecnici, ma con buon gusto e non certo roba estrema di tapping che odio e continuo a vedere nelle band in giro. Li ho visti dal vivo per la prima volta al Punk Rock Holiday 2015 e non riuscivo a credere quanto fighi fossero dal vivo !! Voglio dire, spaccano davvero sul palco e ho dovrebbero essere molto più conosciuti di quanto siano in realtà. Poi ho visto che hanno fatto un tour incredibile in Sud America, con alcune pietre miliari come LAGWAGON e BELVEDERE ovviamente ero invidioso ma ero felice, allo stesso tempo, perché mi piace molto il gruppo, ho visto che hanno fatto tour per anni sempre apprezzati ovunque così se lo meritavano. Poi, quando la mia band ha condiviso il palco con un altro gruppo dalla Spagna (MAINLINE 10, che sono diventati grande amici con noi) dopo il concerto ci siamo bevuti qualcosa assieme e hanno detto: "Voi ragazzi dovete venire in Spagna e suonare con gli Adrenalized, so che potreste trovari bene insieme e sarebbe un grande spettacolo ".... voto a favore, vorrei che potesse diventare reale il più presto possibile. Finalmente ho avuto la possibilità di incontrarli appena un mese fa: ero a Belgio al F.O.D. Fest, in una delle migliori location nelle quali abbia mai suonato, con una lineup incredibile, sostituivo un chitarrista di una band di enormi miei amici (Thousand Oaks). Ho trascorso del tempo nel backstage con i ragazzi degli Adrenalized ed erano più che gentile con tutti, sempre con un sorriso sulle labbra e abbiamo scherzato un po 'sui nostri accenti italiani e spagnoli nell'inglese parlato. Il loro spettacolo è stato veramente figo e mi è piaciuto molto anche se ero stanco come la morte dopo essere stato in giro per 2 giorni con 6 ore di sonno. Probabilmente è piaciuto ancora di più rispetto al punk rock holiday perché, si sa, tutto va meglio quando si è in un club piuttosto che festival. Quello era il giorno in cui ho finalmente comprato un disco da loro, e sto continuare ad ascoltare ad esso. Grandi ragazzi.

EN: here it is, one of the bands that REALLY changed my lifetime. Today would be Kurt Cobain's 50th birthday so I decided to pay a little tribute to one of my teenage idols. I was 11 years old and I was starting my approach to heavy music. It didn't matter what sub-genre it was...punk,rock,metal, grunge were just the same to me..all I wanted was loud guitars, kick ass drums and shouts. One day, my sister AKA the girl who own the guilt for my obsession to this lifestyle, was constantly listening to this band NIRVANA..she came to me and gave me this cassette with a naked baby into a swimming pool. “what the hell is this?” and she said: “Nirvana, the band that I always listen to”. First, I have to admit that I always had a spiritual love for my sister and everything concerning her..she's always been a model for me to follow and in those years, everything she was passing to me was pure gold..no matter if I was really liking but if was coming from here, it was good for sure. Well, that time was different, that time was “WOOOOOW”. I put that cassette (obviously it was NEVERMIND) in my stereo and that fast guitar rif started, but when the drum kicked in...SHIT!! I had goose bumps, I felt like all of the lying energy was coming out of my body in a explosion. That was love at first listening. Then my spiral of addiction to them started to spin out of control, I was constantly listening to them, just Nirvana and nothing else for months. As the weeks were passing, my sister was teaching me everything about them..their stories, the death of Kurt ecc.. meanwhile she was passing me other releases and each of them was great for me. Bleach (my favourite Nirvana's record and I proudly own the first press on pink vinyl) is so damn raw and powerful, Nevermind is so well written and great from first to last, Incesticide was so deeply sad and obscure and then the Unplugged was so damn emotional. The shitty thing was that the band stopped existing almost a decade before I discovered them so obviously there was no hope for new music, but I'm always been ok with that cause I love every album from them. I was starting playing guitar so obviously I spent hours and hours playing thier riffs and after all these years, I understand how simply their music was I understand how talented was that guy that written some rock milestones with just 4 chords and those songs don't need anything more. I read a couple of books that talks about Nirvana, my first band t-shirt was a Nirvana t-shirt that I always wore so fucking proudly at school, My bedroom is full of posters and one of the very firsts is a poster of Cobain, bought in London when I was 14 and after other 14 years is still on my bedroom's door. The girl that I was dating on that period gave me their Best of as christmas gift and was the best thing ever. After a couple of years, as well as I was really going deeply into punk rock, i stopped listening to Nirvana for a while, they were not fast enough and I remember I was growing a sort of anger against Cobain because I always saw the heroin's addiction and suicide not as a cool rockstar lifestyle but such as idiot way of thinking so I was unconsciously denying all the good feelings I always felt for them. Fortunately, years later I re-discovered the pleasure of listening to them and they instantly returned in the middle of my heart. I am lucky enough to say that I had the chance to see almost every single band that I'd love to see live but I still have a little wishlist of dream concert that sadly could not become real, on the top if the list there is Nirvana for thousands of reasons. Nowadays I am fully conscious that without this band, my live would surely be different from what it is, and considering how much I like my life and my love for music, I don't think that it would be better so, thanks Kurt, Kris, Dave.

IT: ecco qui una delle band che ha davvero cambiato la mia vita. Oggi sarebbe stato il 50 ° compleanno di Kurt Cobain così ho deciso di pagare un piccolo tributo ad uno dei miei idoli adolescenziali. "Che diavolo è questo?" e mi disse: "Nirvana, la band che ascolto sempre". Allora, prima di tutto, devo ammettere che ho sempre avuto un amore spirituale per mia sorella e tutto ciò che riguarda lei. E' sempre stata un modello per me da seguire e in quegli anni, tutto quello che passava da lei era oro puro..non importava se mi piacesse davvero.. ma se venisse da lei, era buono di sicuro. Beh, quella volta era diverso, quella volta è stato "wooooow". Ho messo quella cassetta (ovviamente era NEVERMIND) nel mio stereo e quel riff veloce di chitarra veloce è iniziato, quando poi entrò la batteria ... MERDA !! Ho avuto la pelle d'oca, mi sentivo come tutta l'energia che giaceva era venuta fuori dal mio corpo in un'esplosione. E 'stato amore a primo ascolto. Poi la mia spirale di dipendenza da loro ha iniziato a andare fuori controllo, ero costantemente l'ascolto di loro musica, solo i Nirvana e niente altro per mesi. Mentre le settimane passavano, mia sorella mi stava insegnando ogni cosa su di loro..Le loro storie, la morte di Kurt ecc .. nel frattempo mi passava altri album e ognuno di loro è stato grande per me. Bleach (mio disco dei Nirvana preferito e con orgoglio ho la prima stampa su vinile rosa) è così maledettamente crudo e potente, Nevermind è così ben scritto e figo dal primo all'ultimo, Incesticide era così profondamente triste e oscuro e poi Unplugged era così dannatamente emotivo. La cosa di merda è che la band smise di esistere quasi un decennio prima che la scoprissi, ovviamente, non c'era speranza per la nuova musica, ma io sono sempre stato ok con questo perchè amo ogni album loro. Stavo iniziando a suonare la chitarra in quel periodo quindi ovviamente ho passato ore e ore a suonare riff delle loro canzoni e dopo tutti questi anni, ho capito come semplicemente la loro musica era ed ho capito quanto talento aveva quel ragazzo che ha scritto alcune pietre miliari del rock con 4 accordi che però non avevano bisogno di nient'altro. Ho letto un paio di libri che parlano dei Nirvana, la mia prima t-shirt di band era dei Nirvana e l'ho sempre indossata così fottutamente orgogliosamente a scuola, la mia camera da letto è piena di poster e uno dei più primissimi è un poster di Cobain , comprato a Londra quando avevo 14 anni e dopo altri 14 anni è ancora alla porta della mia camera da letto. La ragazza con cui stavo in quel periodo mi ha dato il loro best of come regalo di Natale ed è stata la cosa migliore di sempre. Dopo un paio di anni, stavo davvero andando in profondità nel punk rock, ho smesso di ascoltare al Nirvana per un po ', non erano abbastanza veloci e mi ricordo stavo sviluppando una sorta di rabbia contro Cobain perché ho sempre visto la dipendenza da eroina e suicidio non come stile di vita da rockstar, ma come modo idiota di pensare così mi stavo inconsciamente negando tutti i buoni sentimenti che ho sempre provato per loro. Fortunatamente, anni dopo, ho ri-scoperto il piacere di ascoltarli e immediatamente sono tornati al centro del mio cuore. Ho la fortuna di dire che ho avuto la possibilità di vedere concerti di quasi tutte le band che avrei voluto vedere, ma ho ancora una wishlist di concerti da sogno che purtroppo non possono diventare reali, sulla parte superiore se la lista ci sono i Nirvana per migliaia di ragioni. Oggi sono pienamente cosciente che senza questa band, la mia vita sarebbe sicuramente diversa da quello che è, e considerando quanto mi piace la mia vita e il mio amore per la musica, non credo che sarebbe stato meglio così. EN: Now is finally time to talk about the second love in my musical life after punk music and every shades of it: Thrash Metal... and this is probably the band that stands between the lines of this 2 genres. Yes, they surely are too much metal for being considered Punks, but I think that at the same time, they are the most hardcore punk influenced band known in metal worldwide. The first time I heard of them was in 2001 when I was watching tv news about the fact that in the USA there were found some letters with anthrax on them sent to some journalists and politicians. It was a big trouble for the nation but I've never heard that word before so I asked to my parents some explanations..but the thing that I remember the most is that on tv they were saying that for this reason, America's government decided to take all of the album from a metal band called “anthrax” off every stores of the country. That thing pissed me off. I've no idea if this band was good or bad but surely that decision was far beyond stupidity. By the way, I didn't pay attention to them for years until when in 2006 they were coming to play a show at the rock club near where I live (TEMPO ROCK) than I remembered the name and a friend of mine, that was already a fan of them, asked me if I want to go with him and I said “Is also close to home so..why not..”. The show was really intense, I was just 18 and probably that was my first metal show. They were metal but they were playing so fast and with not many guitar solos.. they had lovely full-speed-palm mutes and that bald/bearded guitarist jumping all around the stage exciting the crowd..obviously he was Scott Ian and Still today I consider him one of the most punk rocker into the metal scene. After that show I started to listen to them a bit..well at least knowing some of their songs, they have been the first milestone metal band I felt in love with after the two gods (Metallica & Iron maiden). But to be honest, I really started to love them a few years later..like 2009. That period, my love for metal was finally coming out and Anthrax were a great connection from where I belong to what I was going to discover. They were There is this endless war between who loves the former and current singer Joey Belladonna, and who prefers the other singer, John Bush. Well, fuck you..this time I am not part of this one because I really love both, even if their style is totally different. And I am one of the few who likes the album where Bush sings on songs written in the Belladonna's era. They love what they do and you can see the fun on stage when they play live..They are different from the most of other metal band that come to the stage always acting angry and tough..Come on, you are doing the best job on the planet, everyone in the crowds dream about your lifestyle for years (obviously including me) and you act like you ar not happy of this privilege? Well FUCK YOU. (that's one of the things that always remind me how punk rock will always be the best music ever..for many many reasons). I saw them live again with the big four and that was a huge deal for me because at that time I was truly in love with each of those band. The only thing I hated in that day was: 1) we were in a parking lot and the temperature was around 35° and that Anthrax played at 4.30 pm with those 35° so I had to chose between Survival or dying into the pit....i did both of them but I can say survival mode at 75% and pit at 25% just for the songs that I love the most. I also have to say that I don't like very much the albums that they did after a long break on writing records but they are coming to Europe playing “among the living” entirely..and that is my favorite album from them...so you know you will see me in the pit.

It: Ora è finalmente giunto il momento di parlare del secondo amore della mia vita musicale dopo la musica punk e ogni sua sfumatura, ovvero il Thrash Metal ... e questo è probabilmente il gruppo che si trova tra le righe di questi 2 generi. Sì, essi sono sicuramente troppo metal per essere considerato Punks, ma credo che, allo stesso tempo, sono il gruppo più infuenzato dal punk nel mondo delle band metal così note. La prima volta che ho sentito parlare di loro è stato nel 2001, quando stavo guardando il telegiornale e parlavano circa il fatto che negli Stati Uniti sono stati trovati alcune lettere con l'antrace su di esse, inviati ad alcuni giornalisti e politici. E' stata un gran casino per la nazione, ma non ho mai sentito quella parola prima così ho chiesto ai miei genitori qualche spiegazione … ma la cosa che ricordo di più è che in tv che stavano dicendo che per questo motivo, il governo degli Stati Uniti ha deciso di togliere tutti l'album di una band metal chiamata "antrace" da tutti i negozi del paese. Quella cosa mi ha fatto incazzare. Non ho idea se questa band era buona o meno, ma sicuramente tale decisione era ben oltre la stupidità. Tra l'altro, non ho prestato attenzione a loro per anni fino quando nel 2006 stavano arrivando a suonare al rock club vicino a dove vivo (TEMPO ROCK) mi ricordai del nome e un mio amico, che era già un loro fan, mi chiese se volevo andare con lui e mi son detto che "è anche vicino a casa perché no ..". Lo spettacolo è stato davvero intenso, ero solo 18enne , probabilmente, era il mio primo concerto metal. Erano metal, si, ma stavano veloce e con non molti assoli di chitarra .. avevano un sacco di pal mute a velocità super belle e che quel chitarrista barbuto e pelato saltava su tutto il palcoscenico continuamente gasando la gente. Ovviamente era Scott Ian e ancora oggi lo considero uno de più punk della scena metal per attitudine personale. Dopo quello show ho iniziato ad ascoltare loro un po...beh almeno da conoscere alcune delle loro canzoni, sono stati la prima band metal alla quale mi sono appassionato dopo che le due divinità (Metallica e Iron maiden). Ma ad essere onesti, ho iniziato ad amarli pochi anni dopo..circa nel 2009.In quel periodo, il mio amore per il metal stava finalmente uscendo allo scoperto e gli Anthrax erano un ottimo di collegamento tra ciò a cui appartenevo (ed appartendo) e quello che stavo per scoprire. C'è questa guerra senza fine tra chi ama l'ex e attuale cantante Joey Belladonna, e chi preferisce l'altro cantante, John Bush. Beh, fanculo ..questa volta io non sono parte di questa guerra perché mi piace molto entrambi, anche se il loro stile è completamente diverso. E io sono uno dei pochi che ama l'album in cui Bush canta canzoni scritte nell'era del Belladonna. Essi amano ciò che fanno e si può vedere il divertimento sul palco quando suonano live..Sono diversi dalla maggior parte delle altre band metal che vengono sul palco atteggiandosi sempre arrabbiata e duri..Cazzo, si sta facendo il lavoro migliore sul pianeta, tutti i fan sognano la tua vita per anni (ovviamente me compreso) e ti comporti come non fossi felice di questo privilegio? Bene Fottiti. (questa è una delle cose che sempre mi ricorda come il punk rock sarà sempre la migliore musica di sempre..per molte molte ragioni). Ho visto di nuovo loro live con i BIG 4 e che è stato una figata enorme per me, perché in quel momento ero veramente innamorata di ciascuno di tali band. L'unica cosa che ho odiato in quel giorno era: 1) il concerto era in un parcheggio in un parcheggio e quindi la temperatura era intorno a 35 ° e che Anthrax hanno suonato alle 16:30 con quelli di 35 ° così ho dovuto scegliere tra la sopravvivenza o di morire nella folla .. ..Io ha fatto tutti e due, ma posso dire modalità di sopravvivenza al 75% e pit al 25% solo per le canzoni che amo di più. Devo anche dire che non mi piacciono molto gli album che hanno fatto dopo una lunga pausa dalla scrittura, ma stanno venendo in Europa in tour suonando interamente “among the living” che è il mio album preferito da loro .. .quindi sai che mi vedrete nella bolgia.

Ho scoperto questi ragazzi diversi anni fa...almeno 7 o 8 direi...perchè alcune band di miei amici me ne parlavano bene e, dato che in quel periodo avevo ben più tempo libero per farmi i cazzi miei, come per altri mille nomi, mi andai a cercare qualcosa su MySpace, che al tempo regnava incontrastato nel mondo dei social ed in realtà aiutava un botto le band emergenti a farsi sentire in giro secondo me. Il sound mi piaceva.. tirava parecchio e c’erano un sacco di melodie fighe ma per quanto riguarda alle parti vocali io sono sempre stato per: TESTI IN INGLESI & SOCIALMENTE IMPEGNATI (giuro..probabilmente non saprai proprio di cosa parlare se dovessi fare canzoni allegre) ed invece qui mi trovavo: TESTI IN ITALIANO & TOTALMENTE NON IMPEGNATI e questo non mi convinceva. Era una specie di mix tra suono di Punk californiano con i testi dei Moravagine. comunque vedevo che giravano e si sbattevano quindi ben per loro..Una gag divertente su di loro risale al 2010 quando ero in studio con la band in cui suono, a registrare il nostro primo album ed in studio (HELL SMELL A ROMA <3) su un divano c’erano dei testi...il nostro chitarrista di allora chiese ad Alex (il ragazzo dello studio) “questi cosa sono?” e lui rispose “sono gli Antefatti” e Lorenzo risposte con un “OK” di circostanza, quando era palese che non avesse capito un cazzo della situazione...dopo 5 minuti rimasto a fissare sti cazzo di fogli, dal numma urlò “ah gli antefatti sono un gruppo!!” poi piazzò li i fogli e se ne andò mentre noi scoppiammo a ridere. Credo tra l’altro che quei testi fossero proprio di questo album che riuscì a scambiare di persona con il bassista della band in cambio del nostro. Nei mesi successivi alle nostre registrazioni mi ero messo in contatto con lui per alcune robe pallosissime per la SIAE DI MERDA ma in realtà non ci incontrammo di persona fino al 2013 quando suonammo entrambi ad un festival fichissimo a Bari. Quel giorno fu veramente una figata incredibile.. un sacco di gruppi fortissimi ed un campo da calcetto dove sfidammo i local in un REGGIANA - BARI che rimarrà negli annali del calcio. Il nostro concerto fu una bomba e quello degli Antefatti, che suonarono proprio dopo di noi, ancora di più..mi piacerono un sacco. Finito il loro set Rimanemmo al tavolo del merch assieme per una mezzoretta a farci due chiacchiere assieme super volentieri dato che eravamo tutti parecchio scemi quel giorno. Purtroppo fu poi in realtà l’unica volta in cui ci beccammo di persona anche se in un paio di festival abbiamo rischiato di incrociarci ma suonavamo in giorni diversi. Li continuo a seguire dal web e vedo con piacere che continuano a sbattersi parecchio e raccogliere un sacco di consensi...a sto punto spero pure di riuscire a ribeccarci presto e tornar a suonar assieme.

EN: The first and only time I saw this band, they were opening for Adolescents 2 or 3 years ago. They were just another band that I've never heard before that I was envious of because they were share the stage with a leggendary band. They went on stage...just 3 people, a lineup that I don't like very much because for me 2 guitars are always necessary, then i saw that the guitar player take a Stratocaster and my thought get even worse because yes, I hate that guitar. But he had a SLAYER patch on his hat so that convinced me to put some trust in them. As soon as they started to play I've been amazed by the energy they were putting in their set. All of the songs were really fast mixing rock'nroll metal and Hardcore and they were really crazy on stage, despite all my bad thoughts I instantly felt in love with them. After 2 songs I was into the crowd jumping around and enjoying the show with very positive feelings. As soon as the set ended, I went to their merch table to tell them that I really liked the show even if I didn't have any idea about who they were, the we drunk a beer together and i bought this Vinyl that I litterally memorized from first to last song. I fucking love this album, Is crazy and put togheter some of the most intresting influences by differente styles that I love. After that I started to following them on the internet and i discovered that they had a lot of shows around but unfortunately I've never had the possibility to see them again, and they have a new album out too, that I didn't heard yet because i want to buy a physical copy of that, hopefully soon. If you don't know these guys give them a chance as I did, listen to this band because it kicks ass! IT: La prima e unica volta che ho visto questa band, stavano aprendo per gli Adolescents 2 o 3 anni fa. Erano solo un altro gruppo che non ho mai sentito prima dei quali ero invidioso perché stavano per condividere il palco con una band leggendaria. Sono andati sul palco ... solo 3 persone, una formazione che non mi piace molto perché per me 2 chitarre sono sempre necessarie, poi ho visto che il chitarrista prendere una Stratocaster e il mio pensiero diventò ancora peggiore, perché sì, odio quella chitarra. Ma aveva una toppa degli SLAYER sul cappello e ciò mi ha convinto a mettere un po 'di fiducia in loro. Appena hanno iniziato a suonare sono stato stupito dall'energia stavano mettendo nel loro insieme. Tutte le canzoni erano veramente veloci mescolando metal, Rock'nRoll e Hardcore ed erano davvero dei pazzi sul palco, nonostante tutti i miei cattivi pensieri mi sono sentito immediatamente innamorato di loro. Dopo 2 canzoni ero tra la folla saltare godendomi al massimo lo spettacolo con sentimenti molto positivi. Non appena il set è concluso, sono andato al loro tavolo merch per dire loro che mi è piaciuto molto il concerto, anche se non avevo la minima idea di chi fossero, abbiamo bevuto una birra insieme e ho comprato questo vinile che ho letteralmente memorizzato dal primo all'ultimo brano. Cazzo amo veramente questo, è folle e mette assieme alcune delle influenze di maggiore interesse da differenti stili che amo. Dopo di che ho iniziato a seguirli su internet e ho scoperto che avevano facendo un sacco di concerti in giro ma purtroppo non ho mai avuto la possibilità di vederli di nuovo, e hanno un nuovo album che non ho sentito ma perché voglio acquistare una copia fisica, si spera al più presto. Se non conoscete questi ragazzi date loro una possibilità come ho fatto io, ascoltare questa band spacca davvero!

COUNTRY: ENGLAND EN: I crossed path with this great guys in a total random way. They were touring Europe with another English band of friends (FAIR DO'S) and Fair do's aked to an italian guy (GIO SADA), who is a friend of mine coming from another band of big friends (WAITING FOR BETTER DAYS) to replace the singer for that tour. They were supposed to have a show in Florence but that show was canceled so Giò called me that morning and told me “Man, our show in florece has been cancelled and tomorrow we will play in Turin, can we crash at your house tonight? ...oh we are 2 bands...9 people in total”. I start thinking about the situation: “9 english stinky punks in my house..on a tuesday night...OBVIOUSLY YES!!” They arrived that evening and we instantly went to the Pub were we use to spend our night after playing in our practice space. It was midnight or so and the guys who work there were planning about closing in an half hour...their plan went totally wrong. I called also my bandmates and started drinking all together make noise as we were in 100 but we were just 13 we stayed there a couple of hours and then went home. When we arrived, they were done and I brought them upstairs where I always host touring bands. They out their sleeping bags on the carpet and then started to party, again! The problem was that my parents were sleeping right under that room but luckly they've always been so damn kind with every crazy person I brought home. The day after they were strongly on hangover so after showers and many espresso, we went to a bar to eat something before they leave. We enjoyed other hours togheter laughing constantly and then they say goodbye and drove to Turin. The fact was that we spent a really cool day togheter but 20 hours before we didn't know anything about each other and honestly, I've never heard about their band since then.. so they gave me their cd and i gave them ours and then I discovered how mad an english punk band could be. I finally had the canche to see them live 2 years ago at punk rock holiday and they were really great live besides being great drinkers, and everytime we met around again we always have great time and always remember the night when we met. That's another story about the fact that you can't understand how amazing is the connection between people in this scene that I love. IT: Ho incrociato la strada con questa band in una maniera totalmente casuale. Erano in tour in Europa con un'altra band inglese di amici (FAIR DO'S) ed i Fair do's avevano chiesto ad un ragazzo italiano (GIO SADA), che è un mio amico proveniente da un altro gruppo di grandi amici (waiting for better days) di sostituire il cantante per quel tour. Dovevano avere un concerto a Firenze, ma che show era stato annullato e giò mi chiamò quella mattina dicendo: "uomo, il nostro show a Firenze è stato annullato e domani suoneremo a Torino, potresti ospitarci a casa tua stasera? ... Oh ci sono 2 band ... 9 persone in totale ". Comincio a pensare alla situazione: "9 inglesi punk puzzolenti nella mia mansarda..on un martedì sera ... OVVIAMENTE SI !!" Sono arrivati quella sera e siamo immediatamente andati al pub dove siamo soliti per trascorrere la nostra notte dopo le nostre prove della band. Era mezzanotte o giù di lì e i ragazzi che vi lavorano stavano progettando di chiudere in un'ora ... il loro piano è andato completamente sbagliato. Ho chiamato anche i miei compagni di band e abbiamo iniziato a bere tutti insieme facendo rumore come fossimo in 100, ma eravamo solo 13 siamo stati un paio di ore e poi tornammo a casa. Quando siamo arrivati, erano cotti ed io li ho portati in mansarda dove ho sempre ospitato band in tour. Hanno messo i loro sacchi a pelo sul tappeto e poi ha iniziato a festeggiare, ancora una volta! Il problema era che i miei genitori dormivano proprio sotto quella stanza, ma fortunatamente sono sempre stati così dannatamente genitli con ogni persona pazza ho portato a casa.Il giorno dopo erano fortemente in post- sbornia così dopo docce e molti caffè espresso, siamo andati in un bar per mangiare qualcosa prima che ripartissero. Abbiamo passato altre 2 ore assieme ridendo costantemente e poi salutarono e guidato a Torino. Il fatto è che abbiamo trascorso una giornata davvero figa assieme ma 20 ore prima non sapevamo niente l'uno dell'altro e onestamente, non ho mai sentito parlare di loro band prima di allora .. così mi hanno dato il loro cd e ho dato loro il nostro e poi ho scoperto quanto fuori di testa un gruppo punk inglese potrebbe essere. Alla fine ho avuto la possibilità di vederli dal vivo 2 anni fa al punk rock Holiday e loro sono veramente grande dal vivo, oltre ad essere grandi bevitori, e ogni volta che ci siamo incontrati di nuovo abbiamo sempre passato bei momenti e ricordiamo sempre la notte in cui ci siamo incontrati. Questa è un'altra storia circa il fatto che non si può capire come sorprendente è la connessione tra le persone in questa scena che amo.

BAND: NO BLAME

COUNTRY: ITALY EN: I know that since I started to write this stories, I choose to follow just an aphabetical order but this time i have to change for a right cause. Unfortunately yesterday NO BLAME announced that they split up after 10 years. Me, as a fan of music bands and a member of a band itself, I know that, like everything else, also these things comes to an end, but sometimes it hruts anyway. This band meant a lot to me for many reasons and all of them are so damn positives. The first time We met, it was december 2008 and was the very first time that my band was touring far away from our hometown. The first show was in Bari, 700 km from where we live and the hometown of these guys. They didn't play that night but they all came to the venue e made us feeling like home. That was an amazing show for us and I still remember that with a big smile on my face. After the show we were all hanging out together, drinking and eating by the seaside and Nello (The bass player ) decided to host us in his house treating us as we were great friends since long time. That was just the beginning of a friendship story. That night they give me their First Ep and when we had to say goodbye to each other we both said “hey, we have to play togheter next time”. That happened only a couple of times but both of them were really badass! The very best one were in a venue called BOBBY'S and the guy who book show there is Giancarlo:a great friend of us all and a great supporter of the scene. That night we played with no blame and x-state ride and many friends from that area showed up so it was another big family reunion night. That was a wild night, we start drinking when we left home in the same van with x-state ride at 11AM and stopped at 4 AM the day after. Each person who were there had a blast, we all went really crazy and when we arrived at the place where we were supposed to sleep, the guys in No Blame crashed their car on a wall!! as soon as we assured that everything was fine anyway, we went inside and start playing Nintendo while one of us were screaming with his head into the toilet because “he forgot how to puke!”. Then they came to play a show in a place near where we live, and many many times we jammed and hanged around togheter doing stupid things. I also personally had a collaboration with some of them when they started a Webzine called “stagediving” and thanks to this I had the chance to do review of several albums and shows. It's a sad day for an emotional guy like me because I loved this band but I know that we will have other chances to be idiot together anyway.

IT: so che da quando ho iniziato a scrivere queste storie, ho scelto di seguire solo un ordine alfabetico ma questa volta devo cambiare per una causa giusta. Purtroppo ieri No balme hanno annunciato che si separano dopo 10 anni. Io, come fan di gruppi musicali e un membro di una band, so che come tutto il resto, anche queste cose volge al termine, ma a volte fa male in ogni caso. Questa band ha significato molto per me per molti motivi e tutti sono così dannatamente positivi. La prima volta che ci siamo incontrati, era dicembre 2008 e fu la prima volta che la mia band è stata in tour lontano dalla nostra casa. Il primo spettacolo è stato a Bari, a 700 km da dove viviamo e la città natale di questi ragazzi. Non hanno suonato quella sera, ma sono venuti tutti al concerto e ci hanno fatto sentire come a casa. E 'stato uno show incredibile per noi e ricordo ancora che con un grande sorriso sul mio volto. Dopo il concerto siamo stati tutti in giro insieme, a bere e mangiare in riva al mare e Nello (il bassista) ha deciso di ospitare noi in casa sua e ci trattò come fossimo grandi amici da tempo. Questo fu solo l'inizio di una storia di amicizia. Quella notte mi dietero il loro primo EP e quando abbiamo dovuto salutarci a vicenda entrambi abbiamo detto "hey, dobbiamo suonare assieme la prossima volta". Quello è successo solo un paio di volte, ma entrambe sono state davvero cazzute! La migliore è stata in un luogo chiamato Bobby's e il ragazzo che fissa le date li è Giancarlo: un grande amico di tutti noi e un grande sostenitore della scena. Quella sera abbiamo suonato con NO BLAME 6 X-STATE RIDE e tanti amici da quella zona si presentarono così fu un'altra grande riunione di famiglia. E 'stata una notte selvaggia, inizziammo a bere quando abbiamo lasciato a casa nello stesso furgone con gli x-state alle 11 e ci siamo fermati alle 4 del mattino del giorno dopo. Ogni persona che erano lì si è divertita un botto, siamo diventati tutti veramente pazzi e quando siamo arrivati nel luogo in cui avremmo dovuto dormire, i ragazzi dei no blame si erano schiantati con la propria auto su un muro !! appena ci hanno assicurato che tutto andava bene, siamo andati all'interno e iniziare a giocare al Nintendo mentre uno di noi stava urlando con la sua testa nel gabinetto perché "aveva dimenticato come vomitare!". Poi lo scorso anno sono venuti a suonare in un luogo vicino a dove viviamo, e molte volte abbiamo suonazzato e girato assieme a fare cose stupide. Ho anche avuto personalmente una collaborazione con alcuni di loro quando hanno iniziato una Webzine chiamata "STAGEDIVING" e grazie a questo ho avuto la possibilità di fare recensioni di diversi album e concerti. E 'un giorno triste per un ragazzo emotivo come me, perché ho amato questa band ma so che avremo altre occasioni per essere idioti insieme in ogni caso.

The way I discovered this band is really fucked up thinking about it now... It was 2005 and they were the special guest opening a show for RISE AGAINST in Milan. I swear I never heard about them before that show so for me they were just another supporting band. As soon as they started, i was amazed by the energy they were putting into the show...so much intense, so many different singers and each member had a personal style of playing different from everyone else. It was a big meltin pot on a stage and I think that it really is into the band and this is what let them become so well known for their unique style. The year after that, they released this masterpiece CRISIS , shit how i love this album. Great songs, great sounds, great emotions on it! I like a lot also Watch out but not as much as this one. This cd edition is a japanese one that I bought last year at disk union, were I spent like 200€ for cds and Lps. I am so fucking glad that they are back on track again because after that i've never had the chance to see them again but in the meantime I really started to apreciate them, not like when I saw the and i had absolutly no idea of who they were :( Going back on time now i would be more excited about seeing the than Rise against. I love also their side projects, expecially CITY AND COLOUR cause i love acoustic stuff and Dallas green has an amazing voice morover being a great song writer. Now i just have to wait until they come back to Europe and meanwhile, buying more records from them!

IT: Il modo in cui ho scoperto questa band è davvero una cazzata pensarci ora ... Era il 2005 ed erano l'apertura di uno concerto dei Rise Against a Milano. Giuro che non ho mai sentito parlare di loro prima di quello live, tanto che per me erano solo un'altra band di supporto. Non appena hanno cominciato, sono stato stupito dall'energia stavano mettendo in mostra ... così intenso, così tanti cantanti diversi e ogni membro aveva un suo stile personale di suonare diverso da tutti gli altri. E 'stato un grosso melting pot su un palco e penso che sia davvero questo ciò che ha fatto si che loro diventassero una band così ben conosciuta per il loro stile unico. L'anno dopo, hanno pubblicato questo capolavoro CRISIS, merda come amo questo album. Grandi canzoni, grandi suoni, grandi emozioni su di esso! Mi piace molto anche watch out, ma non così tanto come questo. Questa edizione cd è giapponese che ho comprato l'anno scorso a disk union, edove ho speso tipo 200 € per CD e LP. Sono così fottutamente felice che essi sono di nuovoinsieme, perché dopo che non ho mai avuto la possibilità di vederli di nuovo, ma nel frattempo ho iniziato a apprezzrli tantissimo, non come quando ho visto la e ho avuto assolutamente alcuna idea di che sono stati :( Tornando a quella sera, adesso sarei più entusiasta di vedere loro rispetto Rise Against. Mi piacciono anche i loro progetti paralleli, specialmente City and Colour perché amo roba acustica e Dallas Green ha un incredibile voce ed inoltre è un grande song writer. Ora devo solo aspettare fino a quando tornano in Europa e nel frattempo, comprare più dischi loro!
