Ghost didn't have an actual keyboard player (the real Air Ghoul) until March 2011.

at Ghost's first 5 live performances, the keyboard part used a backing track.

at Ghost's first-ever live performance in Würzburg, Germany (October 23, 2010), there is a person wearing a Ghoul uniform standing at a keyboard, but this Ghoul is only pretending to play the keyboard, and is kind of pushed back into a corner so people don't really look at him. 😂

I’m reading a book on biofeedback trainings right now and they talk about this. The words “try” or “need” add pressure to stuff. Sometimes switching from “I need to calm down” or “I’m trying to slow my breathing” to “I’m allowing myself to calm down a little more with each exhale” or “I’m giving myself permission to slow my breathing” can be more helpful. There’s a difference between “try to relax the muscle” and “allow the muscle to soften” that is significant enough that for some people it can totally change the outcome of a relaxation exercise.

For other tips and tricks, instead of asking “why” you can’t change a thought/feeling (why being an offensive question, meaning it forces you to respond defensively - in this case defending the emotion you don’t like) you can ask “is there any leeway or wiggle room with this feeling/thought/belief for something else?” Oftentimes we know multiple things at once, and by allowing for a small amount of ambiguity we can start to accept the situation more fully.

did you know Papa Emeritus was originally a Nameless Ghoul? 💀🎭

in the very first iteration of the band Ghost's lore, Papa Emeritus I was counted as a Nameless Ghoul.

rather than describing the band as "Papa Emeritus I and a group of Nameless Ghouls", the band's old Myspace page describes them as six Nameless Ghouls. note the inclusion of Papa's face paint!

Standing motionless and anonymous beneath the painted faces, hoods and robes which their sect demand, the six nameless ghouls of Ghost deliver litanies of sexually pulsating heavy rock music and romantic lyrics, which glorify and glamorise the disgusting and sacrilegious [...] Ghost official Myspace page (2010)

Papa himself also acknowledged his status as a Nameless Ghoul. in one interview, Papa says that they chose to be nameless because Ghost's audience are not meant to focus on any individual members of the band. the members of the band aren't supposed to have distinct identities.

You refer to yourselves as a group of nameless spirits - should this be taken literally? Papa Emeritus I being counted as a Nameless Ghoul is notable because in the early versions of the lore, Papa Emeritus I was also undead / a zombie. this is further evidence of the Nameless Ghouls being undead servants of the cult, as described in the lore of Meliora era / Era 3.

These are unfortunately available for a more limited range of devices (Graphene is ironically Pixel only, while Lineage supports more), but it's very worth checking out whether one of them might work for your phone.

Typing this from Graphene now, in fact. But, both of those take the Android Open Source Project, without all the bloatware--and largely de-Google the whole thing. They give you much more control over privacy and what the apps you choose to install can do and access on your phone.

I know Graphene sandboxes everything, including the optionally installed Google Play Services which a lot of apps unfortunately require to run. (Lineage uses an alternative to Play Services instead.) So, you can install what would normally be unacceptably intrusive apps and just lock them away from pulling any funny shit with your data, or phoning home. Including the couple of Google things I do still keep around.

I also prefer running much more transparent, privacy-respecting open source apps where possible. Besides the transparency, I'd rather avoid the shitty tech corps entirely where I can. There are pretty good alternatives available for a lot of the usual suspects.

he can feel your eyes on him as he adorns his papal vestments, catching the way they linger on his hands a little too long. and when you finish your ogling and finally approach him for a kiss, he runs a fingertip down the line of your jaw. it’s nothing more than a gentle scratch but it has your knees threatening to buckle anyway, which of course he notices.

it isn’t until the moon hangs high in the sky and quiet falls over the Ministry that he indulges you in this… persistent fixation.

he’s dragging them up your throat now, relishing the way you shiver under the ticklish, feather-light sensation. they keep moving upward and his index finger draws a straight line from underneath your jaw to the tip of your chin. he holds it gently, the way he would before giving you the sweetest of kisses. but the motive is different this time. you can feel it.

he takes that same index finger and presses it to your lips, pushing inward slightly. the metal of the claw clicks against your teeth and he tsks.

“open, vita mia."

your mouth falls open without your brain telling it to, your body all too eager to bend to your papa’s every whim. his fingertip slides onto the pad of your tongue and a small whimper escapes you, head too empty to feel any sort of embarrassment or shame for your actions. the tip of the claw presses down slightly and you stick your tongue out further despite the saliva pooling behind your bottom lip. you look up at him through your lashes and he struggles to bite back a moan when a droplet of spittle drips onto one of his spats.

"so obedient for your papa, caro.” he removes his finger, much to your dismay, and you try to chase after it with a frustrated whine. a soothing hand cards through your hair, the clawed glove offering a satisfying scratch. “‘oh, i know, you poor thing.”

you couldn’t be disappointed for too long, though, when you see him reach for his belt and hear that telltale clink of the buckle.

“your mouth felt so warm under my touch, so inviting… you can’t blame me for wanting to feel it like this, too, can you?”
