IHNMAIMS radio drama gave us the most toxic yaoi lol

Always been vaguely aware of IHNMAIMS due to its massive influence in sci-fi horror but never really got to it. Came across eggonalegg's animatic on youtube (It's a very lovely animatic!) and it pushed me to finally delve into it. Thoughts below:

I think the radio drama and the original short story are very different (style and characterisation). I liked the radio version a lot more.

AM is such a unique take on an AI villain. I'm surprised that not many other AI villains share his motives. He's so envious of the human experience: the big things, the little things. You can hear the desperate yearning in his hysteria. I want to put him in a blender, rotate him in a microwave etc etc.

The original short story, on the other hand, is a sci-fi classic but it is also shock horror ⚠️ The story aims to be incredibly cruel, sick, and unpleasant - a hallmark of this genre. I won't personally recommend it, as aspects of its horror are very dated - just something to keep in mind.
