Offhand Dragon Age Fact #1: There is a canonical sign language in Thedas. It was developed by the Silent Sisters. We know not what this language is referred to as, only that it’s basically ASL. Utha, a side character in The Calling (and appears again in the Awakening DLC) communicates through these signs. Her Grey Warden friends have learned it and understand her, too.

I just…really like the concept of Battle Couples. I think that’s part of why I like Bioware romances so much.

When I was in a reasonably-sized polycule we had actual discussions about it, like “I want to be the tank, you’re obviously the healer, do you think she’d be better at DPS or as support?”

I dunno, I just actually messed with the tactics feature of DAII for once and made it so that when Hawke freezes someone, Fenris shatters them, and I’m just like…true love :’)

My little headcanon for the Amell crest Fenris starts wearing after the first night

The favour I could understand - Hawke could have tied that ribbon himself, but what about the other thingie?

I decided that after the Deep roads expedition - when Hawke was able to reclaim the Amell name and estate, he commissioned several Amell crest copies for all his friends and rivals to thank them for helping him achieve this. Those are supposed to symbolize their connection to this now-nobleman and serve as a reminder of their bond. So that they know that Hawke is still there for them.

I think Isabela is teasing Aveline, pointing out that she now has an influential friend who can help cover up her activities. Hawke probably assures Aveline that he won't be doing anything more illegal than what he'd been doing up until now... with Varric laughing that that's just how things work in Kirkwall. I don't think Merrill gets the meaning of a noble crest - it seems mostly useless, but cute. Guess Fenris contemplates the idea of forming an actual connection to this group. That must be very new to him.

They all keep these souvenirs stashed away somewhere except for Sebastian who was not on their team in act 1

And after their night together Fenris chooses to wear his crest out in the open, probably as a way to show Hawke that he treasures their bond despite whatever he's going through, or something like that...

And though this is supposed to be a celebration of Hawke's success, this victory rings hollow because it cost him his brother. Whether or not he survived remains unknown, so Hawke grieves slapping a smile on his face and cracking jokes. Fenris notices when the mask slips (because he's always paying attention to his surroundings) and it endears Hawke to him some more - knowing that despite his newly gained wealth and power that goes with it he's still just sad about his lil bro.

And perhaps this could be the first time they go home together - now that they are neighbours...

Another thing fandom needs to start doing more of is projecting on tops.

There are delicious amounts of psychological distress you can inflict on that guy once you get into his head. The brainworms of forcing agency and initiative on someone who genuinely is Not Fucking Ready For It are exquisite.

To quote myself: Domtops in fics are always written to have such uncomplicated and healthy relationships to their sexualities and for my mental health I need us to collectively start giving them complexes about being some kind of monstrous predatory freak of nature instead.

I feel like getting that letter from Varric would be the last push Merrill needs to get her Eluvian working again.  Then she’d march into Skyhold, grab both Varric and the Inquisitor by the ear and drag them back into the Fade to rescue her girlfriend.
