I’ll pay you back as soon as they give me my purse back.” she said and huffed out a sigh of relief, “Thank you,der.” she added before hanging up to wait for an actual physical display of relief, which, coincidentally (or not) has happened a few times over the years and may involve a hug. Derek probably wouldn’t be best pleased but she refused to dwell somewhere where orange was an acceptable color for every day clothing. The beige she could work with. Not the orange.

Laura pouted at the phone before she sighed audibly, just for effect. “There was no recreational wolfsbane involved, I am perfectly sober and yes, Der, I’m locked up. I already called Peter and used his ‘help’ to bribe for this phone call.” she said and muttered something under her breath at the pushy officer behind her. I’m already in solitary, lady, I will hit you again. “Please come and get me before I bite someone. Orange is not my color, don’t let it get that far!”

“Come on.. Come on. Pick up.” she muttered into the endless ringing. She had already used her one phone call on Peter and he had flat out refused to come and bail her out, instead sending Chinese take-out with a note that read: ‘enjoy your last meal, kiddo.’. Which would have been hilarious if Peter were actually joking. So, consequently she had bribed herself another phone call with pork balls and had to relent and call Derek. Either he’d help or he’d leave her to the wolves, she hoped it was the former.
