Someone who truly loves us. They feel and hold onto any emotion that may still arise, how sad and melancholic it can be, and how difficult it can be to understand and show it, but even though it seems impossible, they will try again and again, waiting for the right moment to make you feel how much they remember you and that they will continue to love you.

“Warning!” - Jenny Joseph
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me, And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings And make up for the sobriety of my youth. I shall go out in my slippers in the rain And pick the flowers in other people’s gardens And learn to spit. You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat And eat three pounds of sausages at a go Or only bread and pickle for a week And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes. But now we must have clothes that keep us dry And pay our rent and not swear in the street And set a good example for the children. We must have friends to dinner and read the papers. But maybe I ought to practise a little now? So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
My Sweet Sixteen
I know a million things -- the atomic
weight of mercury, how to diagram
sentences, the right club to use to
get out of the rough. I don't know
people (unless they live in a book.)
There's a picture of me weeping --
snot-faced, wracking sobs -- under
a pink glittery banner for my sweet
sixteen. A cake shaped like a
hamburger at my elbow, a cake
that would never be shared.
I know the different cuts of diamonds,
the proper tilt and temperature of a
milk bottle for a baby kitten, how to
find my way by the stars. I don't know
why people evaporate like raindrops
on a hot car, why need will scatter them
like marbles through open fingers.
oh, my...

thanks for this, @demeter1111 ! I don't think I've ever seen this one!!!
The periodic table consists of 118 elements, each represented by a unique symbol. These elements are the building blocks of matter, with diverse properties that form the foundation of chemistry and science as a whole
for those of you not really into rockhounding, you have to understand that examining rocks while in the great outdoors, you may want to see what the material looks like if it were polished. hence the lick. I have put whole sunstones in my mouth, like Jolly Rancher candies, to see if they have any obvious flaws. these are from my mine in Oregon:
(but only one at a time, of course...)
At age 74, I can't begin to describe to you how true this is. With less than 5 exceptions, and despite my reaching out, all are too busy, or preoccupied, to stay in touch.
