Hey everyone!! My friend is raising money for jaw surgery so I’m posting this here!

My name is Juliana. I was born with a jaw deformity. I have a 13mm overjet that hinders me greatly. I struggle with speech, eating, sleeping, and chronic pain due to my condition. I have to work extra hard just to breathe because my lower jaw is underdeveloped.

Through recommendations from my orthodontist, dentist, and potential jaw surgeon, I have been told that I've needed double orthognathic surgery for years. This operation will greatly reduce my risk of sleep apnea and developing more pain in the future. I will finally be able to eat without having to take breaks or stop because of the pain. Surgery, post-op care, and future visits will be covered under the amount requested.

I will need the funds as soon as possible to begin treatment. The sooner the operation takes place, the sooner I can live without immense pain. This is incredibly urgent. The younger I am, the less risk I have of developing complications associated with orthognathic surgery. As I have recently stopped growing, I need to have this done as soon as possible.

Currently, my insurance refuses to cover the cost of this operation in any way. After reviewing my case, they have deemed my surgery unimportant. However, that could not be farther from the truth. This surgery will change my life. I will finally be able to live without chronic pain. I need this operation.

ok im kind of a sm*ll account and itd be a miracle if anyone sees this, but im a black bi woman who ran away from a physically abusive home situation last summer, and ive been living in various temporary accommodations since then. ive been working on and off while studying this year, as the majority of my focus has been on getting good enough grades to transfer to a better school (long story but the abuse is the reason i didn't get into a good school in the first place.) so i havent worked this year as regularly as i did throughout my teenage years, supporting myself constantly because abusive parents don't believe in providing for sixteen year olds lol.

now that i have managed to get into a better school, my focus has shifted to finding permanent housing where i feel safe and i can start to settle and move on with my life. ive found a place with a bw roommate but i don't have the funds for a deposit and first months rent, its £1900 in total. ive been working on it in other ways, like selling things and doing odd jobs, but now i have a week left and i thought it couldnt hurt to also drop my info here.
