oh h*ck! theyâre dead!
Another dead person, another dollar, Rowan would say.. if she was still alive. The Litwick frowned every so softly. Man, she needed to get paid. She needed a new pack of ghost cigarettes or something like that. She let out a sigh as she approached the newly-dead body, nudging it with her foot. Yep. Definitely a stiff, but maybe the soul hadnât yet escaped the body yetâŠ? Or perhaps⊠Malphas hired another will-o-the-wisp! Sweet!Â
She began rummaging in her coat pocket for a pack of cigarettes and lit one with the wisp on her head. Time to slack off.
Unfortunately, she wasnât really observant enough to gather that she wasnât alone.

Zane followed it here, the probing sense of a newly deceased being, nagging thought in his mind demanding he investigate the source. Too instinctive to ignore, a soft exhale escaped him as he treaded through the foilage, hopeful that he would be able to find this corpse before his captive suspects his departure. The thought of tracking of her down once had his pace quickening, moving as a ghost would through the forest.Â
Until he gave pause, his eyes landing on said corpse. But that was not the only thing he laid eyes upon.Â
The petite ghost was difficult not to see, seemingly take her time to relax. But she was one being he remembered seeing before.
âIt seems like someone is slacking off,â he murmured, stepping from the shadows into full view. He was filled with confidence, not an ounce of fear within his expression. Difficult to be frightful someone so small. He even dared to smile slightly at the huge height compassion. âI know someone who may be unhappy to catch wind of this.â
Rowan stiffened. As much as she was acquainted with death-- this was not she. This was another. She puffed out white vapor, a sort of mist, as opposed to smoke and stiffly turned her head with a sour expression.
"I'll have you know that there's no soul in this body. He hired someone else without telling me." She took another drag of her cigarette and puffed smoke, turning her entire body to face him this time. Oh- it was this death! Now it made sense. Now, it wasn't right to assume, but this person was a lot more efficient than her anyway.
"Or maybe it's hiding, but I think it's gone..."
Ironically, Rowan didn't seem to find anything wrong with that.
"If you had to work for 10 years and you never got a break, you'd be a little bit more inclined to slack too!" Now, she knew death never took a break. That was just how things worked.
