Perhaps it was a byproduct of all their free time, but someone sacrificing something for his pleasure? Even for something so unimportant as his personal meditation…

"We don’t have to go too close to the water, Mei - I like the beach to watch the water, I don’t necessarily have to go swimming. If, in the future, you want to go closer, that’s fine, but…for now, a simple trip to the beach sounds fine."

The silence stretched on and Mei found herself fidgeting a little as she waited. He didn't seem annoyed, which was good at least.

She couldn't really explain why she wanted to see what made him so happy, she just wanted to. It'd help her conquer her fears too right? It'd get easier for her if she did.

When he spoke again she tried to stop the smile spreading across her lips too quickly, "We could.. we could go today if you'd want there's still plenty of light left for us," the thought of being so close to the water made her pause a little though, ".. Will you protect me from it?"

It was a force of habit that, when she mentioned the beach, his head picked up. Over the past couple of days, there’d been nothing more he wanted than to sit on the beach and watch the water.

But he knew of her phobia. He could even hear it in her voice when she mentioned it.

"I don’t want to put you in any sort of uncomfortable situation…I realize that’s a bit ironic, given everything that’s happened, but…I don’t want you to force yourself towards water for my benefit. I’ve always sat at the beach on my lonesome, I can do it again."

Mei'd tried her hardest to hide that tremble in her voice this time around, it hadn't been good enough to fool the other male though. She shifted a little looking to him properly this time. 

If he was there then the ocean wouldn't be so bad, sure the fear would still be there, it wasn't going to just disappear in an instant but.. it'd be a lot better than usual.

"But I, I want to go see the beach.. I want to see you be happy," She rubbed at her neck, glancing off to the side, "Sure, I'm afraid but it's worth it."
