Synopsis: You and Dean always thought you could make any thing work, until rumors started to spread and you broke things off. Now, he just wanted to win you back.
A/N: This is my first imagine I have put together in forever and I wanted to try my hand at writing about Dean. Please be kind and let me know if you guys like it or not ❤️
“How can she possibly be doing so well?” Dean was honestly at a loss as he sat at the party, listening to the music blaring around him as he took a drink of his fifth beer of the night. He was normally the life of the party but tonight he wasn’t feeling it, the music just feeling suffocating the louder that it got.
“You need to go talk to her.” The words belonged to Beau as he stood next to his best friend, looking down at the man he didn’t recognize beside him. He was normally the life of the party and now he just looked.. deflated.
“Hey, you realize we play tomorrow, right?” Garrett came up beside Dean, making a lousy attempt to swipe the beer from the blondes hands. But, he soon retreated as soon as his hand was swatted away. “And I’ll be ready for the game. Don’t touch my beer.”
His eyes were glued to you as you danced the night away with your friends, a massive smile on your lips. You were wearing the red dress that always drove him wild and he swore you were wearing it just to add insult to injury tonight. You didn’t seem like you had a care in the world, head thrown back laughing as you drank out of a red solo cup that contained a mixed drink your friend had made. Inside, you were dying, but on the outside you were putting on a show.
It had been two weeks since you had called things off with Dean and it was still killing both of you. You were the first girl he had actually tried to date and it had been going really well at first. The two of you were getting to know each other inside and outside of the bedroom in a way Dean wasn’t used too. But, he gave it a shot and had decided you were worth it. The two of you had been almost inseparable and everyone had started to take notice. You had been the one to tie Dean down and everyone was impressed and honestly shocked. You cuddled up at Malones, danced together at parties, and were slowly becoming the IT couple. Until, things took an ugly turn.
It had been the one party at Malones you hadn’t gone too. You were busy working on a project and you couldn’t get away, but you had told Dean to go out and have fun. You trusted him and you knew you did. However, after about an hour you got pictures of the other girls trying to take advantage of a lonely Dean. They were trying to crawl into his lap and trying to get him to dance with them and it was all too much. You texted him that night and said you were done. You had been away for a mere number of hours and it had blown up. You didn’t wanna do this. You couldn’t.
Since then, you hadn’t talked to him at all. He had tried to text and you had ignored him. He had showed up at your doorstep just to be kept outside. You were not interested in any drama so you just completely shut him out, ignoring every attempt and everywhere he went. Until tonight.
blown up in his face when one of his ex-hookups started spreading rumors. He had tried to reassure you that they were just that, rumors. But, it was all too much and you couldn’t deal with being embarrassed like that in front of everyone.
So, you called things off. It had absolutely killed you because you had really liked Dean and he had really grown to like you in the few months that you two had been a thing. The two of you had gotten closer than Dean had been with any girl in a while and it had been hard for you both to walk away. But, you had to do it.
Now you were at the party of the year, dancing with your friends as you tried to ignore the pair of eyes that were staring deep into your soul. “He’s coming this way.” You tried to play it off, you really did. But, you could tell the second that he was behind you and it absolutely rocked everything in you. His cologne instantly took over your senses, his touch featherlight against your back. His presence along with the alcohol buzzing through your system was enough to have your heart racing, your friends looking at you expectantly.
Then he spoke your name and you swore that every inch of resolve you had crumbled up and laid bare in the floor. You were doing so good. You were ignoring him. You were avoiding the awkwardness. But now, you couldn’t do it anymore. You turned around to face him, eyes immediately finding his bloodshot ones. He looked like hell and for Dean, that was saying a lot. He never left the house looking less than perfect. That was, until now. You could tell he wasn’t sleeping and his entire demeanor was changed. He wasn’t the same Dean you had met just months before.
“Can we talk?” You were honestly shocked you could hear him over the party, but you were locked in on him. You were looking at every single line and crease on his gorgeous face. It had changed with the sorrow he had been feeling and it struck you deep in your chest.
“You have five minutes Di Laurentis.” Your words were ice cold as you motioned towards the back yard of the party. It was a lot more quiet out there and it would allow for more privacy; especially with the fact that Jules could be lurking around at any given time.
The two of you made your way out there, him ahead of you so that he could open the door for you like the gentleman he had always tried to be. You tried to ignore it but you felt the faintest bit of something stir deep in your chest. It was feelings that you were trying to ignore and trying to pretend weren’t there. But, you knew you were fooling yourself.
“I miss you.” Walking out onto the back porch, you felt the cool air hit like a blast of clarity as you heard the words leave Deans lips. It caused you to let out a sigh as you rubbed at your forehead, trying to get rid of a headache that was starting to build there. “I miss you and it’s driving me crazy.”
Four minutes.
He was expecting you to say something and it was evident by the way he was looking at you. But, you couldn’t cave. No, you couldn’t do that yet. “Gonna have to do better than that, Dean.” You swore you saw hope flicker in those beautiful eyes of his at the sound of your voice. You were listening. Granted, you were doing so begrudgingly but he would take it.
“You know I wouldn’t do that to you.” Now, you were getting somewhere. He was addressing the elephant in the room. He was actually addressing the rumors that had been swirling around. But, there was only one problem with that. “I know you wouldn’t, Dean.”
Three minutes.
“What do you mean that you know?” The hope that had flickered in his eyes had turned into confusion, one of his hands running through his blonde locks. He was frustrated now, you could tell, but you needed to get out your truth. “If you know that I wouldn’t do that to you then what are we doing here?” He gestured between the two of you and the backyard, causing you to shake your head.
“You don’t get it, do you?” The way the words left your lips felt like a mix of annoyance and sadness mixed all into one. You let out a huff of air as you ran your own hand through your hair, shaking your head. “I broke up with you because I hated the fact girls felt comfortable enough to come up with believable lies like that. I hate that they could get close enough to you that I couldn’t tell what was and wasn’t real!”
Two minutes.
You saw the words settle in and hit their mark, his hand coming up to rub his chin as he nodded thoughtfully. He chuckled, shaking his head and you couldn’t figure out what was so funny. “That’s it? That’s why we broke up?” You could hear a tone coming to his voice that he only used when he meant business. “Yeah, Dean, it is.” You crossed your arms over your chest, eyes drawn to your watch as you looked back to the house.
You looked back up and saw him approaching you now, eyes locked on you with an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine. “Why didn’t you tell me?” It was a question that you almost weren’t sure to how answer because you hadn’t told him. You had just ended things. You had gotten scared and you had ran. But, it had seemed like a good excuse.
“You know if you had told me that then we could’ve worked on it.” His eyes were locked on yours now and you couldn’t breathe, your breath getting stuck in your chest. You knew he was right. You absolutely knew it. But, at the same time, what if nothing had changed? “Hey, get out of that pretty head of yours and talk to me.” His words were soft and you were vaguely aware of him brushing some hair behind your ear now.
“I was scared and I didn’t know how to bring it up.” That was the best you could do right now, because the sincerity in his eyes was enough to make you wish you had told him. It was enough to make you wish that you had said something instead of just running.
One minute.
“Well, you brought it up now. So, give me a chance to fix it. Let me try and make things right.” His eyes were pleading and you found yourself nodding, knowing that if he said he was going to work on something then he would. “Please.” He took your hand as he stood there, looking down at you like you hung the moon and the stars because in his world you did.
“One chance, Di Laurentis.” The words were soft as you saw his signature smirk come to his lips. “That’s all I need, babe.”
Rafe is spread out on the couch, the remote in his hand as he flips mindlessly through the channels. He looks up when you walk through the door and returns your smile as you shut it behind you.
“Hey babygirl. Where you been?” He pouts, and you almost feel bad about the prank you’re about to pull. Almost.
“Got my nails done” You grin, walking toward him.
“Lemme see.” he reaches for your hand and looks at the fresh set before kissing your knuckles.
“I didn’t know you had a nail appointment today. How much were they? I'll send you the money.”
You try to act natural as his eyes roam over them, the cherry red color standing out against your skin.
“Oh, they were free.” You say happily, and Rafe’s eyebrows nearly shoot to his hairline.
“How’d you swing that? No way they just did them for free.” He looks at them again, and you put on your best act.
“Well I guess they weren’t free. Topper paid for them.” You smile, and his eyes immediately dart up to look at you.
“Topper? As in my friend, topper?” He frowns, his free hand pointing a finger toward himself as he stares at you in disbelief, and you have to fight a laugh as his entire demeanor changes.
“Yeah!” You chirp, a bright smile on your face.
His eyes narrow as his grip grows a little tighter before releasing his hold.
“Topper paid for your nails? Why?” He asks, his voice growing skeptical and accusatory.
Your brows knit together as you feign confusion, and you look down at him. “To be nice?” You say innocently, and he scoffs.
“Topper isn’t nice.” He scowls, his thumb gliding across his phone screen as he unlocks it.
“Well he wanted to pick the color so I told him he had to pay for them.” You explain, and he looks up from his phone.
“I’m sorry, run that by me again. Topper wanted to pick your nails?” He grits, his jaw clenching as he barely restrains his temper.
You start to answer, but before you can form a word, he’s speaking again. “And you let him?”
You hold up your hand to show him again, your lips forming a pout in a way you know Rafe can never resist. “Don’t you like them?”
He scratches his temple and tilts his head, nodding curtly. “They’re nice.” He says before he stands, moving past you.
“Where are you going?” You whine, but Rafe doesn’t spare you another glance.
“Im going to Topper's.” He says matter of factly as he reaches for his keys, his muscles taut with anger.
“Rafe-“ Your small hand wraps around his forearm, but he cuts you off.
“No, he's getting his ass beat. Why is he paying for my girls nails? And why does he have say in what they look like? And why would he not mention it to me? Nah, thats not gonna fly.” He laughs darkly.
“Baby, he’s just a friend.” You giggle, but Rafe is far from amused.
“I am the only man that takes care of you. I don’t give a fuck if he thinks its platonic.” He growls, knuckles already itching for violence.
He's about to open the door when you can finally stop him, rushing forward to wrap your arms around his waist.
“Baby wait! Its a prank!” You laugh, and he turns to look down at you.
“What?” He deadpans, and you nuzzle into his neck, placing a soft kiss below his ear.
“Its a prank.” You say again, your voice muffled by his skin and he pulls back from you.
“What do you mean its a prank?” He questions, his hand still on the door knob, ready to go make it abundantly clear that you’re his.
“Its for TikTok.” You explain, showing him the camera open and recording on your phone, and his face morphs from one of anger to understanding.
“You and your stupid fucking tiktoks.” He grumbles, taking the phone and tossing it on the counter before scooping you up and putting you over his shoulder, his hand firmly holding onto your thigh.
“Rafe, what are yo-“ you start, laughing loudly, but he cuts you off.
“Gotta remind you who you belong to.” He huffs, his hand landing on your ass in a sharp smack as he carries you to the room, the phone and tiktok long forgotten.
True friendship is your best friend watching an entire 5 episodes of a show so she can know what you’re both walking into because of rumors of what happens in it. It’s also her FaceTiming you and telling your fiance when to get ready to comfort you while she sits there and listens to you sobbing. @fandomxpreferences forever grateful for you
Guys, if you live in the US (not sure how it works for other countries) but call the number on the new OBX promo. Its a voicemail from JJ when you call and it’s so cute
So apparently Daisy Edgar Jones is 5'7 but she's surrounded by tall men that make her look like she's my height, I could swear that she was 5,4 like there's no way maybe I'm just blind
I stood in front of her at the Oklahoma premier for twisters and I’m 5’6 and she was taller than me. She also had heels on so she towered over me a bit, but she’s definitely not as tiny as she looks. Also, Glen is definitely the tallest of the twisters cast. He’s 6’0” at least. Though, my fiancé towered over him when Glen walked past us because he’s 6’5”
