I crashed out on twt and I really, really wanted to talk about it here.

what you guys did to Rose(agustofwind) is just disgusting. diabolical. I am so done with this stupid fandom.

when I realised I liked f1 and decided to join the fandom I was devastated. it was like kpop which is objectively not the best fandom haha. people were hating on others for simply having different opinion. but enough bout that.

when I started reading fan fiction I found Rose and since then I wasn’t able to read any other fic except for hers. her writing was genuinely exceptional. the depth of her stories, the meaning behind them-it all fascinated me in a way that I simply can’t explain. I realised that when I was reading her fics I often forgot that I was actually reading fan fiction and not a real book. it was that good.

and at some point I knew it was coming. that a lot of people simply did not know, or didn’t care, about RPF etiquette. and it happened. I honestly think that people who commented under midoffs posts about zc are just little kids. and I do not think they are allowed to read fan fiction.

I love Rose so much and I hope I’ll be able to read her fics again. and remember guys, please be respectful for once:)

The thing that sticks with me after the whole zero cycle situation is that I’m going to really miss Rose/evilgustofwind’s presence in this fandom space.

Truly.

Last night, as I was working, once I found out, all I thought was: not again. Color me disappointed but not surprised. Being in fandom spaces for a long time should’ve made me somewhat numb to this. But, between my work, dinner, washing up, scrolling, I just kept retuning to Rose’s blog. I knew she’d said goodbye, but I was just reading through old posts. The genuine joy that Zc, and other fics brought readers. (In fact, it’s family matters that I read first, that made me cry. What can I say gr chose me as his driver).

Before I know it, I fell asleep pursuing rose’s blog. Upon opening my phone, I laughed. I was like, really, i shouldn’t be this parasocial and I respect Rose’s wishes. Maybe zc and family matters resonated more than I expected. I laughed, looking at the blog, the cover art, the asks. Then the page refreshed, and it was gone.

This is not to be parasocial, Rose owes us nothing, I feel so bad the treatment she received. This is not even remorse to get a scrap of her writing. I just feel gut wrenched again, that we lost the chance to have such a person in our fandom. It great and healthy that she decided to step away. But as I saw in another post, she shouldn’t have had to. She should’ve gotten the chance to experience the joy of her works with her readers, obsess and comment over the races, and have had fun in this fandom. I’m just tired of this in fandom spaces, and with rpf I don’t think a lot of people realize that you need to keep it to Tumblr/ao3. There’s been so many amazing posts on fandom etiquette, that’s I’ve reblogged after this situation. I guess I’m only posting because I miss an amazing person in the fandom.

Though I know she won’t be sharing it with us, nor online to read our support, I really hope Rose doesn’t stop writing. I know she expressed how it had taken over her world for the past year, and this may bring some change. But god, she’s so talented. And I hope she never loses the joy in writing. (And of course, enjoying her hobbies, like f1). Cheers to her, truly.

Lord knows my opinions wont be cared about, but I feel so gut wrenchingly horrific. After being informed of Zero Cycle's deletion, i must say, the first thing i did was cry. This fic meant so much to me, as did it everyone else in the fandom. I never got to finish what was released of ALITS, and now nobody will get to experience the rest either. RPF etiquette is simple - its stays in RPF safe spaces. And to anyone who breached its containment, to drag it so far that tubbo knows of its existence, should feel guilty. No matter how heart broken we are, we must stand with Rose (Augustofwind), and her decision. I hope one day she feels safe enough to return to writing, and for now, i hope she has people she can safely share her writing with - lord knows she's too talented to lose it all. I must admit, I've spent an embarrassing amount of time crying over this. The fic as an entirety meant so much to me, as did it everyone else who read it. Nobody read ZC and thought it was "alright". We all admitted it was a work of art, and she even became a micro-celebrity in the landoscar community.

And, for the rest of it, i wish her luck.

as only a recent fan of agustofwind's work on ao3 (yet massively inspired and in awe of their work), i had spent recent weeks on her tumblr, liking her posts, interacting with her fics on ao3, spamming the kudos button so many times because yes, i know i've already left kudos here but i needed to press it a thousand more times to truly appreciate the author's work

and to find out that it's gone??? just like that. i'm quite new to f1 rpf; my main exposure was agustofwind and everyone raving ON tumblr about zero cycle. then i fell in love with bad bad news. and then i fell head over heels in love with family matters and somebody definitely in the comments will get me on how incredible family matters is (my favourite fic of hers). i stayed up the entire night just to finish reading it up until 5am even when i had to get up by 7am the next morning. (and as a person who needs their minimum 8 hours, this was lifechanging) then i found her tumblr, and i remember clawing at any update for her zc sequel, and then the little hints on her next works, the tumblr poll that made me and so many people lose their minds iykyk

i'm not on twitter at all and i barely use tiktok, but when i was on instagram looking at oscar's mermaid post comments, i was in disbelief that someone brought up zero cycle on oscar's actual post. i immediately had to report it with the response that 'i don't like it'. and then the mclaren post there were comments under that one. another report sent to instagram, one that instagram probably doesn't give a shit about it but something to bring me some peace to my mind and to make me feel like i can do something. the disrespect these people had is utterly unbelievable and i cannot believe it has come to this extent that the author has removed her works, her accounts on tumblr, on ao3 and taken a step away from the internet because they recieved DEATH threats. from a situation she absolutely did not cause.

i hope rose's doing well, and wish her the absolute best in everything she does. i hope she continues writing, even if she does not share her work on the internet and finding her own peace on her timeline, and i absolutely hope that those senseless mindless people on twitter and tiktok and instagram are all happy

since evilgustofwind's tumblr account was deleted i think people couldn't see her last post before she removed it but here it is. i think it says it all
