"I opened the outdoor supply closet and bats flew out!"
This is brilliant
Making Friends || Sachi & Aya
When her captain had asked her if she wouldn’t mind taking a mission to the human world, Aya naturally accepted. Exuberantly, as always.
"HAI! I WON’T LET YOU DOWN, TAICHOU!"
And with a smile and a wave, he’d sent her off. She hadn’t even thought to ask who she’d be partnering with. So upon seeing Sachi, she was both relieved and excited to share this first time experience with someone she already considered her friend. She was pretty surprised to see her show up with gigais for them. But that made sense, right? From the stories she’d heard, all the fukutaichous and captains always got gigais!
"Sachi-san! Hats aren’t something you can judge a person’s character on!…………..But trustworthy faces are, so okay!" It was still strange to look at. An identical but limp lifeless shell of herself. "O-Oh…is that what the back of my hair looks like. I wonder if I should get it cut…" The more she stared at her gigai, the more flaws she found in herself
"My legs are so much longer than my torso and my chest is too big. I don’t have any hips, I look disproportionate, why hasn’t anyone ever told me!"
Sachi had been so excited about her accomplishment. Just imagining the look on Ayane's face when she saw what perfect replicas she'd managed to get her hands on made her heart leap in her chest. Surely this would be a great bonding experience! They were getting their first gigais together! Things like this made good foundations for friendships. She just knew it.
But as her companion's disapproval registered with her, the fantasy shattered much more quickly than she had desired.
"I--" O h.
"I didn't know that you would be so upset, Ayane-san. I...I think you look beautiful. I didn't mean to--"
Oh no. She'd messed it up again. Sometimes it felt as if she couldn't do anything right. No wonder her division had her shipped off to an entirely different dimension. Things were probably running much more smoothly without her there. Perhaps Hisagi was even happier in her absence.
"I am so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. You're one of the prettiest girls I've ever met! I'll get rid of these at once if it'll make you happy! I didn't mean to do the wrong thing. I'll make it up to you, okay?"
This wasn't going well. Her heart sank like a stone in a brook, leaving her wondering how she could recover from making a mistake so soon. They'd only just begun their mission, after all.
"I’ve been waiting here— I simply came to drop off some paperwork to Hisgai-Fukutaicho."
"Oh, I can help you with that if you'd like! Hisagi-sama is so busy most of the time. I'm sorry for the wait!"
"O-oh! Where did you come from?"
B\ Are you mad that I stabbed you for no apparent reason?
"I tried my best with you."
"Now I'm only mad that I never got the opportunity to gut you like a fish and hang you by your intestines."
B/ Why are you so short.
"All right, bitch. Go do this shit somewhere else. I'm through with you."
B\ Why is your hair pink, did you dye it, trying to copy Yachiru?
"My hair is completely natural! I don't know what you're even talking about."
B/ Don't you like some other boys?
"I-I'm sorry, but I'm not going to tell you that!"
B\ Why do you like Hisagi so much.
"Hisagi-sama is just so wise and strong, but he's also got such a kind heart. And we both have scythe type zanpakutos, so it's comforting to know that there's someone who became so strong with one."
Ask my character two personal questions. They will answer one.
I'm wasted, losing time I'm a foolish, fragile spine I want all that is not mine I want him but we're not right
In the darkness I will meet my creators They will all agree, I'm a suffocator
Oh no I'm sorry if I smothered you I sometimes wish I'd stayed inside My mother Never to come out
Headcanon 02.
When she arrived at Shino Academy, she was bright-eyed and filled with the kind of unashamed enthusiasm that was usually drained from people far too soon. She was the sort of student that kept her uniform clean and pressed and always arrived on time for class. On the outside, she had all of the makings of an ideal student.
Her naive people-pleasing habits got her noticed by all of the wrong people and soon enough that got her into trouble. Upperclassmen took advantage of her kindness, often leading her to work herself to the bone doing menial chores for them in exchange for what she thought was friendship. The truth was, none of them cared about her at all. But she didn't know any better.
The brightness in her eyes began to dim when she realized the truth.
She'd come all this way only to be alone again.
The lacy patterns of filtered sunshine skirted across her face as she sat beneath an ancient tree on the far side of the academy. The days were growing longer and hotter and she was losing purpose.
That was when she met Rei.
The encounter meant little to the other girl, but to Sachi it meant the world. In Rei there were possibilities that she had only ever dreamed of. A clean slate. A shoulder to lean on. A true friend. And for a while, it seemed like her inordinate excitement had been justified.
But nothing gold can stay.
It wasn't that Sachi had done anything violent to frighten Rei, though she'd always been wary of that possibility. It was the small things. The flash of blackness in her eyes when a passing remark triggered her, the way her fingers twitched into fists as she bit back low growls. It was the inherent instability that came with who Sachi was.
After all, no one wants to be known for being friends with the weird kid.
When relative anonymity is your goal, that certainly doesn't help. And Rei was smart enough to know that. So she knew it had to end. It started slowly: Not meeting Sachi for lunch or forgetting to greet her in the hall between classes. But soon enough they weren't even talking despite Sachi's efforts to find her and ask if everything was okay. Without even Rei by her side, she truly didn't have anywhere to belong.
But she kept on smiling like nothing had hurt her.
"Ah, um…SORRY"
He was so bad with cute girls, so awkward, so stupid! All he’d done so far was make a complete fool out of himself in front of her from the moment they’d first met. And all he kept doing was making it worse and worse. “I-I can’t believe you’re only a fifteenth seat! You seem much more successful!” Oh no! Was that rude too?
"...ah--"
A pang of emotion twisted in her gut. It was somewhere between embarrassment and disappointment and nowhere near understandable to her. She froze, the smile slipping from her face momentarily. The truth was, she probably should have earned a higher rank. But she didn't trust herself enough to try. Not when she was still losing control so often. Not if it would risk the safety of others. And that broke her heart.
Not long ago, she might have snapped because of a comment like that. Her fingers twitched at the unintentionally hurtful exclamation, itching to lash out. A deep breath. A deep breath and a moment to regain control. It was all she needed.
"I-it just hasn't panned out yet. B-but I'm not going to give up trying. Thank you though, Kato-san."
"I want to be useful to Hisagi-sama!"
