Oh god who found pictures of me from high school
right there.
"...What?"
Were you once overcome with so much hatred that you find yourself thinking unpleasant thoughts, Detective Rinko?
"Hatred? No... It takes kind of a lot for me to hate people. I don't even hate Phoenix after all he's put me through. Don't get me wrong. I'm terrified of him, and I want nothing to do with him. But... He couldn't really help doing what he did, so I can't hate him for it. I was, once, briefly overcome by despair so badly that I lost sight of who I was, but Haruto saved me from that."

The instinctual reaction was ‘Phantom’. But the rest of the street was empty right now. There was no gate, so this couldn’t be… She’d heard about other things running around, but she had no idea how to handle that. She braced herself, not sure what to expect (Even if this monster was kind of cute…) and ready to either use her gun or run at the first sign of a threat. Was one afternoon without something weird happening so she could try and figure out how to plan a wedding too much to ask?
Candelira was skipping through town happy as can be with her new plan in action. As she noticed that there was on one around this area she decided to take a seat an enjoy the quiet. After a while she notice a woman looking tense. The woman must be afraid of something, probably Candelira herself, but decided to smile and go talk to her. “Hello! Can I make you smile?"
Rinko eyed her cautiously. "Excuse me?" This was a trap. This was definitely a trap. "What are you? What do you want from me?"

"Mou…" Rinko sighed and leaned on the table. “Dopants were only a couple of years ago, weren’t they? I remember hearing about that in the news."
"Yes they were but recently quite a few are popping out of nowhere. Though the GaiaMemories they are using are the T2 version." Masahiro keeps his phone and seats upright.
"Ah well... Haruto would probably know more about who to talk to about Dopants. I can barely keep up with the Phantom cases as it is."

Rinko sighed. “It’s all really a lot more than I expected when I first got involved with Haruto…"
"Well, that’s to be expected when you’re involved with a Rider. Nothing will be the same, or for that matter normal, anymore."
"I’ve gotten pretty used to the Phantom attacks…" Rinko shrugged, “The group of us have that pretty much down to a science by now. But just all of these other Riders… I didn’t think there was that much out there that people needed to be protected from."
Masahiro nods the takes out his phone from his blazer. “There are. I’ve been in this department for a year now and I’ve encountered so many different types of monsters." He shows her pictures of a variety off monsters. “That’s a Fangire, Dopant, Worm and Orphenoch. However, there are even more monsters out there that I have yet to encounter."

"Kamen Rider… E-Eh?" Rinko groans and puts her head down ont he table. “J-Just how many of those are there?!" She sighed and sat up, scratching her head. “Haruto did say Fourze’s friend taught him about a lot…" Rinko smiled a little. “I’m fine with being his strength of that’s what he needs. He’s been through a lot and I want to be able to help him."
Masahiro smiles and shakes his head. It was amusing seeing her that way."I don’t know the exact number. There are quite a lot of Riders." He had met only a handful of Riders but his father had met almost all of them.
Rinko sighed. "It's all really a lot more than I expected when I first got involved with Haruto..."

"I… Am I suppose to recognize his name?" She sounded slightly distressed since she wasn’t sure at all who Tendou Souji was. “Ah.. Well.. I mean, I get scared a lot, because sometimes it gets really rough… But I do my best to stay positive about it. That’s the one thing I’m really able to do for Haruto… He carries all of this on his back and it’s hard for him. So I try to be strong so that he can lean on me if he needs to."
"That depends. My father is a great chef and perhaps you would know of Kamen Rider Kabuto." Masahiro nods. “That’s good. With the fate of the world practically on his hands, he needs a pillars of strength and someone to lean on."

Rinko looked over, then smiled a little. “Ah.. Well.. Even if I did, it’s not really a problem. I’m not a Gate anymore. Haruto destroyed my Phantom last fall when we first met. But Haruto is my hope now, so I’m not really worried about that." She stared a moment as he pointed at the ceiling, looking up as if expecting something to be there. She looked back to Masahiro and tilted her head. "…Your father said that?"
"Yes he did. He’s a really wise man. He’s the man who walks the path of heavens, the man who rules everything. Tendou Souji." Masahiro smiles at Rinko. “Even if you aren’t a Gate anymore, that doesn’t mean you can despair.

"You haven’t dealt with them." Rinko sighed and shook her head. “They’re ruthless. And Phoenix is back…" Without realizing it, she reached over to rub her sore shoulder “It was bad enough dealing with everything else but now we have to get rid of him again…" She shook ehr head. “I appreciate the offer but Only Wizards are able to deal with them… The rest of us just do what we can to help protect the Gates while Haruto and the others get rid of the Phantoms."
"I know you’re worried but don’t lose hope. That’s exactly what the Phantoms want. There is always hope." Masahiro points his right index finger to the sky. “Otou-san said this: If I wish for it, fate will always be my ally."

Rinko sighs and looks at the Engage rung that she’s held on to since back in the fall. “Phantoms were humans. There was an event that caused a large amount of humans with magical potential to fall into despair and be consumed by their Phantom. These phantoms are seeking out those same kinds of humans, Gates, to do the same to them. Why, I’m still not sure. There’s no real pattern… Whenever they locate a gate, they attack them and try to force them to lose hope so that they’ll be consumed." Rinko pulled a hand through her hair and scratched the back of her head. “We’re getting closer to finding out what they’re after, but there’s still a lot of pieces that we’re missing. Our Riders… Wizard, Beast, and Mage. It’s complicated but Haruto, Nitou, and Mayu-san are all doing their best."
"I see. So it boils down to one thing, hope." Masahiro nods and sees her looking at her ring. “Don’t worry so much. The Phantoms would be dealt with in due time. As long as there are Riders dealing with it, everything will end up fine in the end." He leans back into the chair. “If you do meet the Riders, do tell them that I’ll help in holding off the Phantoms."

Rinko nodded slowly. “Ah… I think I read in the papers about that…" She sighed and nodded, “I’ve heard some departments are better about it than others but our Chief is kind of a pain." She leaned back in the uncomfortable metal chair. “So you’re interested in the Phantom cases? What do you want to know?"
"I see. That’ll be rather difficult since the attacks are focused here." Masahiro pats her shoulder in an attempt to comfort her. “But down worry, You have the backing of my department. Well, I would like to know the usual things. What are they? What’s their motive? And do they have a pattern? And if you do know, who is the Rider handling them?"

Rinko sighed. “Yes well… The department doesn’t really like me being involved in this." She led him into the interview room and shut the door before sitting at the table. “I’m not really sure what you mean by ‘Worms’ though…"
"Worms were aliens that came from a meteorite that crashed into Shibuya. They were dealt with by my father more than 5 years ago." Masahiro takes an available seat close to Rinko. “The police are actually not very fond of dealing with paranormal problems that’s why there’s only a small paranormal department."
Rinko nodded slowly. "Ah... I think I read in the papers about that..." She sighed and nodded, "I've heard some departments are better about it than others but our Chief is kind of a pain." She leaned back in the uncomfortable metal chair. "So you're interested in the Phantom cases? What do you want to know?"

"Help?" Rinko tilted her head a bit. The department had barely wanted anything to do with the Phantom cases. Even now they didn’t seem like they’d call in help for her. But his ID seemed to check out… Rinko nodded. “Yes. Come with me." Rinko nodded and headed for an interview room. “Our Chief gets annoyed if I’m too public about this, so it’s best we discuss this out of everyone’s way."
Masahiro nods and follows her. “I actually volunteered to help you out since the Worm problem has been fairly manageable. Surprisingly, the department wasn’t too keen on my help."
Rinko sighed. "Yes well... The department doesn't really like me being involved in this." She led him into the interview room and shut the door before sitting at the table. "I'm not really sure what you mean by 'Worms' though..."
