[ info ≫ hierarchy of the observers ]
while most ranking systems are decided by power or skill, the observers tend to go about such things in a peculiar way like they do with most. one’s rank is deemed either purely at random or by personality / empathy. observers are not known for their emotions or ability to sympathize with others after all. those who were former humans that retained emotions or true observers with a sense of empathy ( no matter how little ) are often kept at what would be called a training level, at least until they’re able to think with logic than their feelings. from there they are thrown into whichever rank / job the King thinks would fit them.
rank iii. they do not specialize in watching after realms like the others but instead work within those worlds. their primary job is to fix any sort of loop holes or repetitions in a world, sometimes even assist in furthering the ‘ plot ‘ of it. those who make up this specific position are observers who are either deemed still too emotional or former human observers, if only due to them being able to blend in among humans better than their more stoic ( almost robotic ) kin. those who were once human also have the choice of staying an immortal being, or completing a set quota of missions ( usually around a 100 or so ) and being put to rest once and for all. as one would probably expect, some humans aren’t too thrilled at being part of some secretive race of gods and decide on the latter. this rank tends to always have the lowest population and are constantly seeking volunteers.
rank ii. a sort of second in command to their respective observer. while observer themselves they do not play much of a role aside from writing down all that happens in a world, from the events across an entire realm to what happened in some child’s day, everything and anything is documented by them. they also act as a ‘ voice of reason ‘. they aren’t exactly the most popular or well liked within the society due to all of them being of the truly stoic. it’s no surprise they are often the most intimidating and neutral of their kin, priding their logic above everything else. they also tend to look down upon those like subaru, not being the biggest fans of humans nor those they view as ‘ too emotional ‘.
rank i. the highest ranking and most popular of them all. as the name entitles they observe humanity with a never ending curios fixation, adoring them even in their most foulest of moments. though they are not restricted to simply watching, in instances in which it is deemed appropriate they can control an entire realm and make whatever they wish happen, though that’s usually seen as boring. instead they offer hints and clues to those who could influence their specific world the most, the being’s assistance a method of helping each world achieve it’s ‘ true end ‘.
the king of observers. as one could guess each system and race needs some sort of ruler or guider, one to keep everything in order as well as the peace. there have only ever been two kings, the former and the present, a woman of a now forgotten name, simply called the ‘ king ‘. while granted even more power theorized to surpass majority of divine beings, they are not able to use them, usually at least. their job instead is to remain within the realm of their kind and keep not only the system but each universe and all it’s denizens alive and together. without a king it is said everything within all universes would crumble, everything humans knew or didn’t would cease to be, the end would essentially fall upon all.
