not using AI genuinely feels like the rest of the world is experiencing some kind of mass amnesia. if someone says they never use it, the immediate response is that can't be true because "everyone" uses it to write their emails or answer their questions. saw a comment suggesting that not using chatgpt to write an essay is "like the 90s". girl I graduated in 2021 and we weren't doing that! how is it that everyone has suddenly forgotten that they were entirely capable of doing these things all by themselves for their entire lives up until the past few years!! am I going crazy!!!

People who use bisexuality to defend Fyeraba, please stop! There’s a lot of valid criticism to be made about the writing and no, sexuality doesn’t excuse how badly written and underdeveloped their romance is. Plus, the musical whitewashed and straightwashed the story. Giving a happy ending to the hetero couple from the book and simultaneously erasing the much more explicit Gelphie scenes is rooted in homophobia. Pointing that out doesn’t equal to biphobia and erasing Elphaba’s bisexuality. Y’all need to touch some grass.

wicked the novel doesn't really have an equivalent of the ozdust. the closest thing would probably be the caprice in the pines incident. unlike the musical, galinda isn't the one to play a prank on elphaba. instead, galinda's friends (who don't actually seem to like her that much and have clocked her pathetic gay ass) write a fake letter to elphie from 'galinda' inviting her up to the summer house they're all staying at. and this letter basically is just a really poorly written booty call begging elphie to come up 'for reasons i dare not write.' elphaba is initially skeptical of it--book galinda is canonically a very good, polished writer because that's how she won her scholarship to shiz--but eventually decides to go at boq's insistence. elphie frames this as her doing a favor for boq and only going because he has a crush on galinda, but i think this is very much her just not wanting to let her feelings show and hiding her feelings for galinda behind boq's. so she pulls up to caprice in the pines with boq and avaric only for galinda to freak out when she arrives and make it clear she doesn't want elphie there, while her friends laugh at elphie falling for their trick. and it's just important to me that everyone understands that the ozdust evolved from elphaba getting baited by the promise of gay sex with galinda and falling for it hook line and sinker

ok don't crucify me but i don't really agree with people when they say 'glinda always saw elphie as beautiful she never needed to change her perspective.' like i do think deep down glinda did always find elphaba beautiful and was just suppressing that, but she's only able to recognize that once she changed her perspective, which is why the mirror scene comes right after popular and is accompanied by the for good motif in the movie. it's not that she "learned" elphie's beautiful so much as she shed the biases that are preventing her from admitting that. and this is a shift in perspective and requires her to see the world in a new light. it has to be because the whole point of the musical is that glinda and elphaba both change each other for good. and i do think with fiyero schwartz and holzman tried to go for a 'oh he never saw her as ugly and didn't need to change his pov' kind of thing which is good in theory but then later fiyero's talking about how much he's been changed and how elphaba's got him seeing through different eyes. and then in the movie he gets turned from a blue-eyed prince into a glinda-eyed scarecrow. so. idk what's happening. elphaba probably just got it wrong don't be mad it's not her fault she's gay

i like how gelphie nation has come together in solidarity about both girls having praise kinks. funniest shit. there wasn't even a memo. we all just went, "ohhh, they're that sort of fucked fucked up" and ran with it. truly admirable

I did just immediatly whisper "what the fuck?" after i saw Tattooed Hearts on the gelphie recently uploaded ao3. I just adored how you characterised those two when I first read it and I was so happy to see more (and some of Elphaba's nervousness!)

I am super curious though, do you think Glinda ever saw her mother or Fiyero or her old friends again? I love imagining their reaction to this new more confident Glinda and how that interaction would play out.

She hasn’t seen them yet, but there are run ins with old friends in the future after she’s married. Elphaba gets very protective and is always sure to emphasize that she’s Glinda’s WIFE thank you very much. Pfannee is the first to reach out. After all, he never cared that she was gay (being queer himself) but was swept up in the hatred for how she announced it. Glinda never sees her parents again

Elphaba eventually reconnects with Nessa after her father dies, but it’s tumultuous at best and hostile at worst. It takes them years to work through it and even then, they have an incredible talent for hurting each other even if they don’t mean to.
