Hello, and welcome to my brand new blog, I'm sure a lot of you know me, Marina!

I've been working on a bunch of personal projects, but lately I've been finding myself scrolling through social media in between down time, and it's been such a long time since I've been really active on any! I thought that maybe it would be really fun to interact with fans and share some things you may not know about me, and maybe even how my day has gone! ✨

I encourage interaction, asks and replies are a must! I will reply to ✨EVERYONE✨‼️ Just nothing weird please...

This is a Marina Ida ask/rp blog. I highly encourage you to send asks or reply to posts to have interactions with her!

As Marina said, NO NSFW or weird stuff when sending asks or replies. I know how y'all are. These asks and replies will be ignored.

This is current day canon timeline Marina, 26 years old, after Side Order and after OTH's world tour. You can ask her whatever you want! Things about her, her life, her relationship with someone else, literally anything is on the table (except for weird stuff obviously)

I will try my best to keep her as in character as possible, but there might be things that I do with her that diverge off the "canon" path (such as, pearlina as an example).

All of Marina's interactions will be public and will be done authentically. When interacting with her, go into it with the impression that this is actually her running it! It'll be the most fun that way. DMs will not be replied to.

There will be coherency to this, Marina will do things and things will happen, she won't stay in some weird stasis where nothing happens in her life, although I don't have much planned. I'm just kinda winging it, putting myself in her shoes and making up stuff as I go along. Maybe there will even be photographs (artwork) that she takes!

You may ask things that are OOC if you want but please make sure you specify that first.

Please keep in mind that Marina is in the Splatoon universe, if you reference things from the real world such as events, movies, games etc. she will either not understand or treat it as if what you're talking about has a Splatoon universe variant. Any attempts at saying you're a human or from the human world might get interesting replies, but she probably wouldn't believe you. She thinks you are apart of her world as well. Do with this as you will!

DISCLAIMER: Please be safe and mindful with seperaring reality from fiction. I would hate if something like this damaged someone mentally, it was created for fun.

One more thing to note, the tags that are on the posts aren't put there by Marina they're just so I can talk OOC and to get other people to see the posts.

Well now you put me in mind the idea of giant leeches going around to find people and suck them to death, like a vampire equivalent for inkfishes.

As if them and lampreys weren't bad enough already in our times 😭

I've never seen an evolved Leech before, but I'm sure where ever they're living (if any) there's ways for them to get their food ethically. Civilised creatures don't deserve to be treated poorly, Leech or not.

Do you guys have to deal with parasites? When we were around, there were gill worms and these weird bugs that would eat a fish’ tongue and replace it

Of course, humans had parasites too. Fleas and ticks and lice, nasty little blood suckers

Oh, absolutely! Leeches... 💦

Because the ocean was the primary source of evolution, a lot of fresh water species had stayed in their primal forms. Leeches are fresh water, so they stayed too...

They're actually very dangerous for us Inkfish, because our bodies are mostly made up of ink and water, but there is a small amount of blood circulation as well. Because we don't have a lot of blood, having a Leech can turn bad real fast! 💦

Im looking forward to summer so much!! Ive been so busy cause I graduate tomorrow (which I am excited for, but it's going to be a very long day), and afterwards ill finally have free time again!!

Hopefully smollusk enjoys his first summer just as much as i plan to!!!

Congratulations!! I really hope your summer is great after graduating from all of your hard work! I remember how incredible I felt after my graduations ✨

And, thank you! Smollusk loves being outside, Pearlie has been waking up each morning to hold him out on the balcony because he likes watching the sunrise with her. I hope he isn't too upset when Winter decides to take the pretty sun away from him, haha! 💖

I'm really happy with how well Pearl has taken becoming a mother, she feels like she's a natural at it ✨❤️

‘Learned from the moon’ in the sense that we watched and attempted to understand. Of course no one human could match the Moon, heck every human on earth working together couldn’t match the intricacies, but we could manipulate smaller bodies of water

Wow, I'm unsure if we're capable of being allergic to basic things like water and sunlight. If we can be, then it makes sense I haven't heard of it... It might have gotten them before anyone knew. 💦 🪦

Fun fact!

Humans were once able to control water! They learned from the Moon how to push and pull the tides. The art was lost long before humans went extinct though :;

Is the moon sentient? Did humans find a way to speak to the moon...?! I know they went there, but if it's actually a living thing...

...No, that can't be right. Perhaps they learned through a specific ritual that us sea creatures aren't able to comprehend. But, if that was the case, then why didn't that skill come to us when we evolved from their likeness?

Summer is about to begin, it got really toasty today 💦 the weather predictions for the following week don't look very great either...

Wonderful weather for swimming, though! But, if Pearl and I take a dip in the pool we'd have to get Smollusk a little pool floaty. Aww, that sounds super cute...💖

I'm a bit more of a casual player, so it was never anything too high. I don't really remember, but if I had to guess, it might be about 4-5.

So, if you guys can swim in fresh water, but are dissolved by salt water, what’s the point of the water features at Mahi Mahi and Albacore?

Some of the pools and water features are made with fresh water! But sitting in it for too long will have us inklings and octolings become a bit rashy...

Those attractions are mostly meant for other species to use as well, like the Jellies! ✨

What’s the most SATISFYING splat you’ve ever gotten in battle?

It’s a bit cruel, but I can’t help but put sprinklers on super jump markets

I didn't realize that was effective at all! 💦 That sounds like a pretty cool one.

I main the Brella class, so most of my splats aren't very extraordinary as my job is mostly to protect other teammates. However, I have dabbled a little in chargers, and so far my favorite is the E-liter 4k. Splats on that weapon are SOOO satisfying... 💖✨

I've also tried the dualies at a certain, adorable Pearlie's request—I'm not really built for that style of play like she is. Her stature makes her more aerodynamic when she rolls!
