For the past 5 I’ve shifted my time to learning basic filmmaking, photography and all the editing that comes with it. I started on my iPhone (YUP!) then eventually moved on to pro gear. I’m still learning new stuff til this day. Never in a milli did I imagine filming for a world renowned company like @serato It’s such a privilege to move forward with a family that aligns with your passion. It’s humbling to collab with artists I admire. At times I’m still in disbelief during our shoots. Another thing I love is the ability to put untapped talent on the map. I was there and I know how discouraging it is to work hard with seemingly little return. We all start somewhere. There’s a lot of worthy DJs that don’t get the light they deserve. I’m happy to point that light in their direction. I say all that to say these cliche quotes. Carve your own path, skies the limit, leave your mark bc our existence is temporary. Be present! 29 years ago today (May 14th, 1991) @wearedelasoul followed up their iconic “3ft High & Rising” album with this gem “De La Soul is Dead”💀27 tracks deep! So many dope joints on this album, “Keepin’ The Faith” being one of them. Aside from being a dope album musically, I consider this one of the best skit albums of all time. The man behind the beats @djprincepaul of @justsaystet (Stetsasonic) wasn't only responsible for the production of the first 3 De La albums🤯 but this man is a master storyteller, a true comedian at heart. We’ll never have another Paul or another De La. Give them their r̶o̶s̶e̶s̶ daises🌻 .
