Do you think Jikooks on stage concert moments and chemistry is different to other members interactions during concerts? Are other members āshipā interactions on the same level?
Observationally, Jikook always felt more risquĆ© to me. Their moments on stage feel a lot moreā¦.fueled instead of teasing, cute skinship.
Apparently according to someone Jikook actually interact the most often?
There are a lot of moments that i think are cute, or that I think are flirty on stage, but are not as big of a deal as some jikookers make them out to be. They all flirt with each other on stage and sing to each other or hug on each other. I also do not have the statistics to say they interact more or the most... I wouldn't buy into that, not unless someone can give you legit numbers.
Do i think that Jimin and JK have the most chemistry together on stage during these flirty moments, even when between other members? Yes. They connect on stage and off in a very special way. And JK even told us this the same thing, that his heart feels most connected with another member when he meets eyes with Jimin while they are performing.
And there are ABSOLUTELY moments between them on stage that ARE worth making a bigger deal of, in my opinion. Moments that are more exclusive to them, that I don't really see them doing with other members or other members doing with each other either.
(Gifs do not belong to me.)
Top of that list would of course be rosebowl:
And then honestly like, whatever was going on here. Sure Jimin, just run your hand all the way up his abs and chest and then wrap your hand around his throat as he belts out his notes like an angel. Cool, cool.
I have yet to see any other duo pull the other by the tie so they sit in his lap with the world's most smug grin ever. Yes, I have Park Jimin on my lap and you don't. Cool, thanks.
The petting we see between everyone, this level of aggressiveness with the petting combined with the smiles and the entwined legs and pressing of the hips till they are flush together.... yeah, haven't seen that from anyone else on stage, just them. Lol wonderful
Whatever the heck JK was trying to do here. Where was your hand going my guy?! What would you have done if Jimin didn't smack your hand away, sir?! The LOOK Jimin gave him... really, what was this?!
So I get it, I know this is the "bangtan style" line that JM is singing and he is showing off JKs style. But the vibes?! I've seen something *similar* between TaeJoon from this same concert, but not to this extent with the looks. And out of context, this gif really just looks like Jimin is showing off his man and telling us we can't have him. You can look, but only I can touch. WE GET IT, THANKS
JIMIN, SIR. This one haunts me okay. Who were you waving your tongue at like that after getting down on your knees in front of them?! Oh, right. Duh, it was JK. This was suggestive as hell. MOVING ON
Jimin dancing to JKs acapella vocals for Butterfly. And the way JK is watching him dance the whole time?! And not to compare, because you can see the admiration in his eyes for all of them, but Jhope also dances to JKs vocals at this same moment, and yeah this look at Jimin is SPECIAL. This is the love crush and heart eyes coming out to play in full force.
This was special. I have a whole post up about this moment from this concert and the thank you mission that also happened this day, but this was different then when they normal sing to each other, this was meaningful and you can tell how meaningful it was by the look on their faces afterwards too. It's beautiful.
And last example as I've hit my image limit, the Serendipity serenade moment. Everyone picked a different members song or a ot7 song as their favorite. Everyone sung a little bit of said song too. The VIBES of JK singing Serendipity directly to Jimin with the hand on the waist and then holding him close by the jacket, how close they got, their smiles, the looks given, ending with the cute little finger touch and slightly embarrassed smiles after. Yeah, this was special
Soooo yeah, I do think they have some moments on stage that are bigger deals than any other "ships" moments, no matter how cute and crazy those other moments get. A lot of them aren't though and get blown out of proportion, but some are special, some are special for the emotional aspects and intensity it brings into play as well too. And some, even though the same moment can be seen happening with others, can have completely different vibes given off. Regardless, they definitely have a special connection together on stage that they both feel and recognize.
Hi Iām tiny chair/Rosebowl anon omg. I want to clarify to the rebloggers that I wasnāt calling Rosebowl platonic at all. Jk is clearly wrapped around Jm. I also want to clarify that I didnāt mean I saw the chin physically « stuck toĀ Ā» the ear. I mean to me it looks like while JK has his lips against ear, chin is obscured behind shell of the ear, and when he pivots his head forward, I see the ear catching on the chin and then the chin push forward past ear where you see it as lips pulling away
I really really want to see a video of someone who put their chin on someone else's ear and manages to make it pull upward and away from that person's head. Not just push forward or fold over. Catch me trying this with my husband later to try and recreate this movement with ears and chins only....
āGuys, it hits different if you watch it from this angle! šš https://t.co/9g3F70MlMHā
Another angle for you all. Where is his second lip? Because I see his top lip, then when he drags his mouth off the ear, I can see the bottom lip appearing from behind the ear. The ear does put push forward, it tugs out and up from the head, following the path of Jungkook's mouth. If that was the work of his chin, it literally would have HAD to somehow be stuck to his chin, otherwise according to physics and the way the human body works, his ear could not have moved that way unless dragged. Either by sticky substance from the chin where they got attached, or by mouth.
Jungkook caged Jimin in. Leaned down and whispered something. Sat back up, cupped his head, leaned back down and put Jimin's ear in his mouth. Then when he pulls off, he gives a light kiss to the side of his head.
You are going to see whatever it is you see though in the end, but telling us that it didn't happen... just isn't it. The whole chin thing was started by tkkrs anyway. And it just literally physically does not make sense. Ears don't move that way on their own, not even with the presence of something blunty pushing on it from behind. Seriously. Give a try with someone if you want. Please see if your chin can move their ear out, not just down.
Hello! Is me again, I'm sorry but i have just too many questions about jikook (lol) and I think you are the best person too ask about it! So, dont you think that the line "what are you doing? Just rip the tape! is not our first time" or something like this and jimin was like: "yes?š³" very suspicious?š§š¤ (sorry for the English agaaain) ty!
Hello, please stop apologizing for your english. It's amazing! And you are already linguistically more talented than I am as I speak one language and one language ONLY. Lol
That moment comes from the start of the Bangtan Bomb for Tae's birthday in 2019. Here is the full video:
This moment literally starts the video off. It is obvious that they are being very flirty with each other through tone of voice and inflections. They are flirting through teasing. The translations are accurate. A more accurate translation of the "It's not our first time" line would be "It's not like we've only done this once or twice before." To which Jimin replies that "It's the first time with tape." All said in very suggestively flirty tones.
I know a lot of people take this as a bit of a bondage joke (which i can't blame them, Jikook have explicitly made one of those before too. In a way that can't be denied as anything else Lmao) but I think this is more JK flirting through a scolding of Jimin taking too long to open the cake box. I really think he was referring literally to the tape on the box, that it isn't their first time opening and decorating a cake for birthdays (which is true).
Jimin though, saying it's their first time with tape and then the small giggles from them both after is where I can give credit to the possible bondage joke. Because uhhh it shouldn't be your first time with tape on a cake box, Jimin. Lmao that's just not true. So unless you are cracking a joke about it being the first time with tape elsewhere? Maybe I'm missing something. Lol it's possible.
Regardless, adult joke made or not... the vibes were intensely flirty, in a hyung role reversal way with JK fake scolding Jimin with that deeper tone of voice and the soft spoken ways they were talking to each other about... cake. It was all domestic and flirty. You can't change my mind on those vibes given off. You can also see and feel a distinct vibe change when Hobi shows up to start helping them. All of a sudden there is no more flirting over top of the cake, but just regular enjoyment with friends and hustle to get it done in time.
Thanks for the ask! This video was so sweet for all of them too. They all sang for Tae. Jimin immediately fed Tae, followed by Hobi feeding Jimin. Followed by Tae saying he wished for things for the members. They are all so sweet. And yes Jikook were definitely flirty at the beginning! Lol

What do you think of this Jimin vlive? https://m.vlive.tv/post/0-18231744 I mean that jikook theory that JK interrupted Jinās voice at some point? Do you think it was a prank that JK and JM were participating together to trick army or something like how they did during Jinās b-day vlive?
Hello!!
Here is the original vlive:
Try watching videos on BTS channel
It was 200330. Jimin spent the first half just giggling with ARMY, eating food and talking with us. An ARMY requested that he call the other members to say hello. Jimin seemed to have texted them first before his meal. And afterwards said that he might not call them because it didn't seem like he received an answer from anyone. Eventually he calls Jin anyway. This starts about 35 minutes into the vlive.
Also can we talk about how BTS are the only men who will ever get me to sit and watch them freaking eat and smile about it for 30 minutes? What kinda sorcery have they pulled over me?!
Jin answered the phone and seemed VERY sleepy when he did and said hello. Jimin tries to do a little pretend play, asking to confirm his identity and acting like he is trying to sell him a cleaning service. Lol Jin declines. Then Jimin asks him to say hello to ARMYs. Silence. He gets confused and asks hello twice, Jin pops back in with another hello. Jimin goes "ohhh you suddenly stopped talking." He tells him his on vlive hyung. And then you get from the phone another "hello" and the voice is noticeably different than before and much more awake and clear. Jimin looks STARTLED as soon as he hears that Hi. Visibly surprised and yet quickly plays it off.
This new voice says "I'm Jin." (Uhh we knew that already? š) Jimin giggles and just says that ARMY wanted him to call the other members. Jimin basically asks what he is up to, says he called you thinking he would be the most likely to pick up (Jin DID answer). "Jin" answers that he is just lying on the bed. Jimin then replies, "but you should be here soon." "Jin" asks why, Jimin flustered replies to check the schedule list.
They giggle and tease back and forth about "forgetting" and saying no no, I'm actually right here in front of the building. They joke and tease. Jimin says they should meet in an hour, don't forget. (Jimin did say at the beginning, he had to leave by 3:10 and only had an hour to meet with ARMYs.) "Jin" then says they should eat, Jimin says no, he just ate. They go back and forth about that for awhile. Before it ends with "Jin" randomly saying "I love you, Jimin-ah" and flustering the hell outta Jimin before he says i love you too and they hang up.
Jimin continues the Vlive after that for a bit. He reassures ARMY that he is very full and couldn't eat anymore. (Assuming to comments saying they wouldn't mind watching him eat again lol.) He suggests calling V, saying that if he texts back he will call him. Says that Namjoon is doing things at the office, but isn't sure about anyone else. He suggests Lauv's new song for a recommendation. And then Tae replies.. He does end up calling Tae around the 42 minute mark. They talk for a bit, mostly about how Tae is currently gaming with ARMYs. He ends the call reminded him that he has to be there soon. Tae said he would show up without a shower š they hang up after saying they will do a vmin live together soon š (we are obviously still waiting Vmin!!) The last 15 minutes include a small fashion show, more music recs and then another Vmin phone call where Tae pretended to be a telemarketer. Lol
Soooo now let's talk about the Jin phone call. Let me start by saying even ARMY translation accounts that aren't shippers at all got confused momentarily and were convinced that was Jungkook on the phone halfway through when they switched. And yes, I also totally hear Jungkook's voice. You can definitely tell the difference. No, I don't think it was a Jikook prank on ARMY. Jimin was NOT in on that switch up. He was surprised. Lol it felt like JK heard Jin on the phone, joined him and then when Jin disappeared briefly, probably JK trying to get the phone. He wins and says hello. And then proceeds to basically just flirt with Jimin for the rest of the phone call. Ending it with an I love You and total drop of honorifics. You can see very different reactions from Jimin with the first half of the Jin call compared to when JK took over and it looked like he was fighting a blush the whole time. And also compared to his calls with Tae, giggly through them all, affected by only one though.
I don't even think this is simply a jikook theory, non shipper ARMY also thought it was JK until it got dropped and never spoken about again because Tkkrs tried to start shit over it, "ship wars" and simply the way that the fandom ignores KM moments. But that WAS Jungkook. JinKook were probably hanging out before whatever team meeting they were going to have, Jin was maybe napping. Jin answered, JK heard it was Jimin on vlive and wanted in I guess. 100% just seemed like an excuse to flirt though in my opinion.
Thanks for the ask! These are simply, my opinions of course. Feel free to disagree. Hope this helped though!
"We know that they know the popularity polls don't reflect the amount of interactions TK actually have (what else would be the point in making up conspiracy theories as to why there isn't as much 'content' for them despite it being "the no. 1 ship" ?). So, is it just out of fear of loosing some arbirtrary competition?" - Idk which ask was this but I couldn't find it again. So I'm saying what I wanted to comment here.Wasn't this person going about it in the wrong way?Isn't the real case is more like this - Why despite the low content, the popularity poll shows 1?It's because TKshippers are in a competition, is what the person above deduced. Isn't the person engaging in the same conspiracy theory that he just accused the TKshippers with?
Hi @esthariv ! Thanks for the Ask.
I'm not too sure what post this was on, either, but I think you're saying: Is someone who suspects Tae/Kookers of engaging in a pointless competition and inventing reasons for why they do what they do just as bad as those who propagate conspiracy theories?
Well, I don't think so. A conspiracy is about turning plain facts into something much more nefarious. It's usually a distortion of truth that serves a select few people (those who start the theory). It needs a bad guy, a community of followers "in the know", secret motivations, and a concealed truth that needs revealing. I don't think suspecting that some BTS shippers use social media in a competitive way is a conspiracy theory. I think it is, arguably, quite apparent that is what happens.
A lot of people who are on platforms like Twt or TikTok are in it for clout. They want followers and to experience a minuscule version of the fame that their favs receive. And shippers who want a lot of likes, "hit posts," and lots of engagement are usually in it for these reasons or they are looking to create a following that can be monetized. And, that's not always nefarious. Fan artists often monetize their work through commissions, and I think that's completely reasonable. However, many look to create monetized videos or even blog posts that are clickbait, purporting to have insider info on the private lives of their supposed favs. That's not cool.
TK being the # 1 ship will always attract ideas and theories. Was the person who said that correct? Maybe, maybe not. There are a lot of accounts on YT creating and monetizing TK videos because it's lucrative. If I wanted to make money on YT, I would choose TK over KM. It's more strategic. If I wanted to get a lot of followers and clout, I'd make a TK twt, too. This is def part of it. Are some fighting a pointless competition? Absolutely. But, some people are just casual fans who want to enjoy a bit of TK fantasy, and there's nothing wrong with that.
These days, all of the popular BTS ships have their own canons, theories, and in some cases conspiracy theories. TK's conspiracy theory is that BH is hiding their relationship with JM as a beard (lol, it's so funny...hiding gay with gay...). But, Jinkookers have manifestos now too. They think every time JK accidentally said "yeobo" to Jin, it was a slip and since that word is used as a term of endearment by married couples, JinKook must be married. It's kinda cute.
Now, I wouldn't class that as a conspiracy theory because there's no bad guy hiding some important truth from the masses. I'd just class it as a leap in logic. JK accidentally saying yeobo at least twice since 2019 tells me this is a word in his vocabulary, so he likely has a significant other he uses it with, but that doesn't mean Jin is that significant other. It tells me that Jin is someone he feels more comfortable speaking around, so he's more likely to be less careful with his words. And looking at his reactions when he accidentally said it, it seemed like a little mind blip and not some accidental admission of romantic love. If you accidentally called your husband/boyfriend a term of endearment on camera, you wouldn't act like you just said fridge instead of oven, you know?
āA conspiracy is about turning plain facts into something much more nefarious. I think it is, arguably, quite apparent that is what happens. ā
Okay.First of all, the point wasnāt why TK is popular (Some want clout, some engaement, some real shippers). The point was why this op was assuming the reason behind TKās popularity must have come from a need to compete with some other ship. Whatās the basis of that? The most simple answer would be to accept the fact that, despite the minuscule content, TK is popular. The same reason any other ships are popular. If op is okay with the other ships popularity on the list but assuming the invalidity of the 1 ship, isnāt he engaging with the same behaviour he accused TKshippers of?Refusing to accept the simple reality that maybe people connect to TK more?
āTKās conspiracy theory is that BH is hiding their relationship with JM as a beard (lol, itās so funnyā¦hiding gay with gayā¦). ā
I donāt think TKshippers are really thinking āhiding gay with gayā in the literal sense. Youāre exercising no brain here at all.
What I am getting at is you think āfactsā are whatever is being presented to the audience on the stage, in the DVD, on TV. This is not a news organization that has to abide by journalistic standard. This is entertainment. Can you take renditions done for the purpose of entertainment as āfactsā?
This TKshipping as conspiracy theory is new to me.ā A conspiracy is about turning plain facts into something much more nefariousā. Ā What āfactsā were distorted?
Apparently I have no brain š§
Tkkrs who come to jikookers' blogs trying to make them look stupid are so miserable. At least have some pride
Below is a wonderfully edifying submission from @tell-me-everything. My comments are at the end in italics.
I get very frustrated when I see casual social media posts or analysis videos claiming to know exactly what Jungkook is feeling based on his body language or his facial expressions, and I feel like a lot of the harmful stereotypes and misinformation within the fandom come from these posts that are essentially based on guesswork. We never know exactly what is going on inside a personās head, and weāre all just making our best guesses based on our own experiences and preconceptions about people.
So I wanted to write up a few examples of ways that I as an autistic person might read JKās body language differently based on my own experiences and those of my close friends of other neurotypes. And I thought this blog might be a good place to share this. Iām not trying to say that Jungkook actually is neurodivergent in any particular way. However, he does have some behaviors that I relate to and that I think might be misinterpreted, so I want to provide some alternative explanations. I may be preaching to the choir by submitting this on Tumblr, but oh well, here we go.
1. Indirect Eye Contact
Something that really gets my goat (and the reason I decided to write this submission) is how the fandom often interprets the way JK stares off into space or at another person or at the ground.
Neurotypical people tend to prioritize eyes as āwindows to the soul,ā and they often assume that the direction in which the eyes are pointed is where the personās attention is pointed. For neurodiverse people, that is often not the case.Ā
There are two big reasons for this: First, eye contact is very overwhelming for many people, so they will process information better while looking away. Second, many neurodiverse people have different types of audio processing difficulties, so in the chaos of a conversation or a lecture, or a concert, the person might have to āturn offā their eyes for a bit in order to focus all of their effort on listening. Some people describe this as āseeing the sounds,ā where they even create their own subtitles for what is being said or try to visualize the content in some other way.
REST.
I'd love to have a discussion about so-called unpopular opinions on KM. I keep seeing anons being dismissed on "popular blogs" (I guess they're popular I'm not really spending much time on here anymore) and I'm not a huge fan of this mentality.
If anyone would like to share their "unpopular opinions" I hereby welcome you to do so. It feels silly doing this but I can't stand ppl who don't accept someone else's opinion just bc it's different from their own. Stop acting like you have the facts when we're all simply speculating. Did JK tell you that certain tattoos are intended to represent JM? Did he personally tell you that their Tokyo trip was a birthday present for JM? You can't possibly know any of that so why are you treating it as the truth? I'm very much a fan of speculating, it's fun and it doesn't harm anyone. But as soon as you start to label these things as facts with no room for doubt, it's becoming a problem. Do I believe KM are romantically involved? Yes. But do I run around claiming KM are in fact dating and there's no way I'm wrong? No, bc what do I know? I have no proof of that. So what's up with you guys telling others off for having different opinions? I don't get it.
Might delete parts of this later but this has been bothering me for a while.
Excellent point, I want to see some too š
Since I have a lot of asks about awkward hugs:
Yes, sometimes Jimin and JK seem awkward when they hug/touch
Yes, JK is kind of an awkward person to begin with
Yes, Jimin initiates awkward moments too
Sometimes these awkward hugs can mean something
Sometimes they literally mean nothing and are a person's knee-jerk reaction
Being in a relationship with someone would not stop all awkwardness
Not being in a relationship with someone would not stop all awkwardness
Not every moment of awkwardness is the same/should be looked at so deeply
If you put yourself in JK's or Jimin's shoes, 90% of the awkwardness they have on camera is so much more understandable and doesn't require a theory on how they're not even friends anymore
I sincerely wonder who wouldn't feel awkward to hug their lover in front of 10 cameras and a whole bunch of staff. My parents felt awkward when they had to kiss at their own wedding just because there were a lot of people around them. Needless to say that such thing as mood tends to change drastically.
hello euna!! in todays run episode jimin called jungkooks mom "eummunimā and i wanted to know if its normal to call your friends mom that? thank you i hope youāre having a great day!! ā¤ļø
lesleychamp: I've seen different people say different things, but I wanted to ask if there was anything special (beyond what seemed adorable to me) in the way JM talked to JK's mom? It seemed like a really cute interaction to me.
Anonymous: Hi Euna! I just watched the latest ep of Run BTS and my tl is going crazy over the clip of Jungkook's mom saying, "Jimin ah, saranghae!" It was so cute. What is your take on this? Thank you!
Anonymous: Itās a big deal or not common that Jimin called Jungkookās mom eomoni or that the correct way? I understand is the formal way of saying mother... I think? But is normal that a person call his friendās mom that way?
Anonymous: Is it common to call another mom ģ“머ė in Korea? Was there any significance to Jimin called Jungkook's mom this, or no?
Anonymous: I would like to know about the new run ep moment. In Korea is it significant that jimin called Jk's mother eomoni and she said ily too jimin?
Hello anon(s)!
Run BTS really is a gift that keeps on giving, huh? This episode was full of adorable moments, but the one between Jimin and Jungkookās mom takes the cake!
JM: ģ“머ė~! ģ“머ė! ģ§ėƼģ“ģģ~! Eomoni~! Eomoni! Itās Jimin~!
JKās Mom: ģ“? Huh?
JM: ģ§ėÆøėģģ¬! ģ§ėÆøė~ Itās Jiminie! Jiminie~
JKās Mom: ģ“~ ģ§ėƼģ ģ¬ėķ“~ Oh~ Jimin-ah, I love you~
Itās a cultural norm in Korea to use familial forms of address with people who arenāt related to you (i.e. āhyungā āhalmoniā), so by extension this applies to mothers as well. ģė§ (omma) and ģ“머ė (eomoni) are both ways to address your mother, but ģė§, since itās informal, wouldnāt be used on people who arenāt your own mother unless as a joke. On the other hand, it's not uncommon to call your friendās mom ģ“머ė, especially if youāre close to them. Ā
But what makes this moment between JM and JKās mom so cute isnāt so much tied to 'eomoniā as it is to the whole interaction itself! As soon as JM tugs the phone over to say hi (clearly feeling the need to tell her that Jiminieās here too!), JKās mom immediately goesĀ āJimin-ah, I love you~ā Everything from their tone to the spontaneous love declaration to the way they refer to themselves and each other shows how good their relationship is and how familiar they are. Overall, itās just incredibly heartwarming to see!
Has it ever crossed your mind that jimin sometimes tries to tell us the truth by mentioning some little things which most ppl
take as fanservice? For example, "the only thing I'd take with me to a desert island is jk" or "the most amazing thing I've experienced recently is waking up and seeing jk" etc. I think jimin is very much aware of how his words will be perceived by the fans and that's why he's scared to say them openly, it's like he uses these opportunities to say the things that he can't say in any other circumstances. And jk's reaction to such confessions is pretty telling, he's always flustered, embarrassed and also a little flattered like he knows that Jimin's not joking. What do you think?
This is a really interesting question that I havenāt thought about much. Iām actually much more curious about your thoughts on this. Can you elaborate on this part:Ā āI think jimin is very much aware of how his words will be perceived by the fans and that's why he's scared to say them openly, it's like he uses these opportunities to say the things that he can't say in any other circumstances.ā?
Oh, I'm sorry, I made a typo there! I meant Jimin is NOT scared to say them openly. And yes, of course I can elaborate. I think we all can agree that jimin loves jk and if they are in relationship this love has not olny a platonic but also a romantic side. And while the former one he can express freely, the latter one he has to hide. And I guess it can be pretty hard sometimes? When you are very fond of someone you want to show it. It doesn't help that jimin is also a shameless tease and he loves teasing jk. So in my opinion these 2 things - love for jk and Jimin's teasing nature - are the reason why jimin uses interviews as an opportunity to tell the truth, knowing that most ppl will take it as fanservice and won't dwell on it while he confesses his feelings to jk for the whole world to see. You can also consider it as his protest, kind of. Since same sex love is illegal in SK and we know that jimin has a tendency to break stereotypes

Disclaimer: Before reading, know that I am not saying anyone's opinion is wrong, nor am I claiming Jimin and JK hate OR deeply love each other. I'm just taking note of the more under-appreciated aspects of that moment.
First off, I don't see this sexual "smirk" everyone seems to be seeing. I know a lot of people are posting things like "here comes ~antis posting about how Jimin and JK are on breakup #10049," and I want to again disclaim that despite me not seeing the smirk, that isn't what this post is. It's just a more reasonable take on what happened.
If anything, Jimin looks annoyed to me. I don't think he's like going to fight JK or something but he's definitely not giving off "oh yeah my man just 'manhandled' me, now I'm horny!!" vibes lmao. I think those types of takes could come from a place of inexperience...
But, I do think this moment is interesting because it comes off a certain way with regard to intimate moments and couple behavior. From JK's perspective, he easily looks a bit possessive--though not in a toxic way. I'm not saying it's romantic or not but it's definitely not normal between friends. From Jimin's perspective he looks annoyed but then resigned to the fact that this is how JK is. It reminds me of all the times the members would say JK uses his muscular physique to get what he wants. Because he's bigger and stronger than everyone else, he easily overtakes people and sometimes it can cause annoyance with those who don't rely on their physical strength to get their way. The interesting point here is that what he wants isn't to win a game, eat someone else's food, or some other reasonable request. Instead, he wants something from Jimin I don't think I've seen him hint at wanting this much from other members, skinship.
But the thing that stands out to me the most about it (especially with regard to Jimin's reaction) is that it happened on camera in a completely candid way. It reminded me of a time I had a disagreement with someone I was seeing (and of the many many times I've seen couples have these sort of disagreements). It's not a big deal to have the disagreement (especially one as innocuous as "hey, you're heavy and gross right now, I don't want you all over me," and the other party doing something even pettier in response) but I note it because I don't think I've seen friends respond the way JK did to Jimin's chiding. Instead of letting up and saying " sorry bro, let me just lean on someone else," he doubled down and put even more of his weight onto Jimin while also restraining him. In the context of everything else Jimin and JK have done that's more sus than not. I think without that context it's less obviously sus but in these situations, it doesn't make sense to ignore context
Hi!
I'm so in love with the way you answer all the questions that today I decided to ask one of my own. It's about Let's BTS show. Why do you think Jungkook looked so shy when he read Jimin's wish ("I'm hyung's copycat")? I guess we all can agree that there's nothing embarrassing and intimate in this sentence, Jimin's been talking about Jungkook being his copycat for 4-5 years so why Jungkook was so surprised and unsure? He reread that card about 3 times before finally reading it out loud and he kept looking at Jimin. Ofc it can be delulu and I'm reading too much into it but I haven't found a good explanation so far. Jungkook's reaction just doesn't match the words he read, imo.
Hi @dnuorogyrrem ! Thanks for your Ask. I am happy to give my opinion, and so what follows is just my take on this moment.
Hereās a gif of KM āarm wrestlingā in BV1 that has nothing to do with this post.
First, letās throw away the word ādeluluā because asking questions is not a delusional thing to do. Itās actually the most rational thing one can do! Delusional is more like believing the earth is flat given all the empirical evidence to the contrary.
The exchange in question happened during the KBS talk show special āLetās BTS.ā For those in the US and a few other territories, you can find the full English-subtitled version on the Viki app with Pass Plus (which includes Kocowa).
During this particular game, the guys were asked to write a special message on a card and then ādeliverā it to the person they would like to hear say the message directly to them (the writer) via a giant Lazy Susan (lol). Jimin picked Jungkook as the person he would like to hear say what he wrote on his card. It seemed like a few people, including Tae, guessed that this would be the case.
Indeed, the card said āIām your copycat,ā and JK did have to read the card a few times before he was ready to say it out loud and address the topic. He seemed surprised and perhaps a little flustered and shy because of what JM wrote. I canāt say for certain the exact reasons he is shy because Iām not a mind reader, but I think this exchange paints a picture of their dynamic.
If you encountered two brothers who had a classic sibling rivalry, you might expect one brother to be rather annoyed when the other copies him. The classic line of āI did it firstā is something you would expect to hear. And, what else would you expect from a classic sibling rivalry? Legit annoyance, petty arguments on occasion, tit-for-tat exchanges, and probably lots of oneupsmanship. Do we see this with KM? No.
What are the cornerstones of KMās relationship as we see it in variety, reality and documentary content? Itās loving, caring, supportive, playful, flirty, comforting, and altogether very I do everything with you, go everywhere with you, and you are my rock. Would anyone disagree with this?
On several previous occasions, JM has made this complaint directly to the camera about JK, and JK has melted into an embarassed lil bun unable to defend himself. Did they ever get into a real argument about it? No. Did they go tit-for-tat petty AF, sneering and then perhaps trying to out do one another over the copycatted item/facet? No. Did it ever feel like a real complaint coming from JM? No. Did it feel flirty and designed to embarass JK into a certain state? Yes.
So, if youāre JM (and itās easy for me to imagine being him in this scenario because I would do something like this, 100%), you are presented with the opportunity to doubledown on one of your fav ways to flirt with your bae on national television in a setting where he canāt run away or answer back suspiciously. Basically, you can play your move and he can play zero moves. He has to grin and bear it. This is called checkmate, LOL. Logically, if you love to rile up your bae, youāre gonna take this opportunity with gusto. Imo, this is what JM did. Thatās why he had such a straight face. Itās his Iām shamelessly fucking with JK face.
I think JK got shy because he knows that even though the complaint is not genuine, itās rooted in truth. He has been influenced heavily by JM (heās said JM is his catalyst), and he openly admits it. So, JM turning the tables reframes something very meaningful in to a flirty, playful game. If you went on holiday to Greece and fell in love, and then later went back and settled in Greece with your new partner, perhaps jokingly your partner might say, āYou followed me to Greece! You just couldnāt stay away.ā Itās a flirty, playful way to reframe something meaningful in the relationship.
Some might be wondering why JM would make such a thing into a joke. Well, one day someone will tell you about the birds and the bees, and everything in between.
And, Iām sure this is wholly unrelated but there is a BL manga called āIām Your Cute Copycatā from circa 2017, and you can check it out here. I mean, total coincidence, right? ;)
I started to think what kind of an inside joke could it be and finally came up with the cheesiest version ever: "I was born in Busan first, I started wearing lenses first, I also fell in love with you first..." š very jimin-style imo
