WATCH: Terry Crews Isn’t Afraid To Rock The Man-Purse
I fucking love Terry Crews.
He’s been so outspoken about toxic masculinity and it just gives me so much hope
Terry Crews is everything good and right with our world.
This was the moment I knew I would always love Terry Crews. Because he is shown a picture of himself with his clutch, and he says, “Women have the best ideas.” He does not go into a sloppy explanation about he’s “manly enough” to carry a purse. There’s no “I am a real man” horseshit dropped here. What he says is “Women have the best ideas.” And the rest of the story is basically, “I want to carry my own shit, and my wife always carries a purse with her own shit, so I got a purse for mine.”
Like, this is equality 101. You want to carry your own shit, grab a purse. There should be no judgement for carrying your own shit.
Terry Crews does not need our protection, but we must protect Terry Crews at all costs.
If you care about somebody, you should want them to be happy. Even if you wind up being left out.

I care. I always care. That is my problem.

It’s okay to have no idea how you’re going to get through a heartbreak or a loss or a failure and to have to take it hour by hour. Not sure when you’re going to break down next or when you’ll finally be able to eat something without feeling nauseous. Not sure if you’ll ever be able to go back to how you were before and definitely not sure how. Because getting through one hour without thinking about it leads to getting through a night without crying about it which leads to days without letting it affect you at all. And before you know it, you’ll be you again, just a scarred yet wiser version.
You ruin your life by desensitizing yourself. We are all afraid to say too much, to feel too deeply, to let people know what they mean to us. Caring is not synonymous with crazy. Expressing to someone how special they are to you will make you vulnerable. There is no denying that. However, that is nothing to be ashamed of. There is something breathtakingly beautiful in the moments of smaller magic that occur when you strip down and are honest with those who are important to you. Let that girl know that she inspires you. Tell your mother you love her in front of your friends. Express, express, express. Open yourself up, do not harden yourself to the world, and be bold in who, and how you love. There is courage in that.

Some people don’t realize what they have until it’s gone, but that does not always mean they are supposed to get it back.
Stephan Labossiere (via suspend)
When people walk away from you, let them go. You shouldn’t have to talk them into staying with you, loving you, calling you, caring about you, or coming to see you … For if they really cared about you in the first place, they would not be going anywhere.

Even if things didn’t always go the way they should, sometimes they went exactly where they needed to.

“ten pieces of advice to give yourself”
1. If you know someone is wrong don’t raise your voice, help them understand you, improve your argument.
2. Do something you love for a living. If you don’t love it, I hope you have the courage to change it. It’s never too late to be who you want to be.
3. Hold on to what you believe and your values, don’t let things get to your head.
4. Let yourself fall in love with people. With their honest moments, the breakdowns and the daydreams.
5. But also don’t let other people force you into a relationship. Relationships won’t always make you happy, they are magical and wonderful, but it’s also amazing to spend time with your friends or just reading a book by yourself.
6. It’s okay to feel lost. Living it’s hard, but we all feel it. Let yourself get lost, in books, music, art, in the small things in life
7. Make sure you have a safe place to go when you need to be alone and don’t feel bad for rejecting someone help, sometimes we just need some time alone.
8. Don’t feel anxious about small things, at the end of the day, they are just that, small and insignificant.
9. Don’t search for the perfect body, learn to love yourself. Each body distributes in its own way, you are special because you are unique.
10. Find someone you can share your dreams and hopes with, not someone you have to give up your dreams for them to accomplish theirs.
